Sorry I didn't mean to insult anyone. The improvements in mods are important as they will also help the progress of mini ecigs I imagine.

I agree most users end up looking to upgrade from mini ecigs but thats not because they don't want a cigarette sided ecig (they do), it's because as you said technology doesn't allow them to perform well enough so far.

Yet I believe that's the future.

No they dont.Youre making that assumption based on what you want and Im willing to bet hard earned money that will change in 2 months time if you continue to read and frequent this forum.

Im perfectly fine with my Provari and wouldnt trade it in for anything smaller even if it was available. There are a minority on this forum who prefer and stick with cig-alikes but you wont find many who share your opinion.

I started with a kr808a that was almost the same size as a cigarette. Battery wouldnt last me more than an hour and I came here to look for better options.

Some people cant or wont get past the whole form factor thing and its a shame cause I dont think they know what theyre missing.

With the all out assault on analogs, vaping will really thrive, if for no other reason than it being an all-around better alternative to analogs (this applies to the legislative, medical and public perspective). However, on the business side, I foresee the Ecig manufacturers becoming more of a problem as the big overtake the small, competition is stifled and prices rise...

Lol... we do have a lot of passionate folks here don't we?

In truth I really don't see anything wrong with standardization. We all have to think of the big picture. As the market is now with the only apparent standard being the 510 (which has a form factor that will be off putting to most new comers that are already being stretched to accept e-cigs talk-less of accepting a bigger form factor) i think its safe to say the vaping is still in the hobbyist and early adopter realm.

I don't see that market ever going away. those of us that want to take pride in our ihybrids or provaris can always do that, same way how those analogers that wanna take pride in a $300 cigar can do that too. But for vaping to become mainstream, to really be an everyone thing; it has to be made easy to the point where someone shouldnt have to come to a forum to find out what works and doesnt. And its that simple.

It has to get to a point where the average vaper shouldn't have to worry about battery threads, resistance, volts....etc. They should literally be able to just walk into a store, pick up a pack of cartos and screw that onto their "generic" batteries. As it stands cartos from some brands are good for about 75-150 puffs. They should standardize that s*** so everyone knows what they are getting from any carto regardless of brand.

I don't see how this will affect the hobbyist in any way, but can see how much better this will be for every other smoker out there.

I started with a cheap little cig alike and almost did not keep with vaping until I came here and saw all the cool mods and such that I could eventually get.

It is less about just meeting my nicotine demand now and more having fun and enjoying my new hobby.

QFT.

At least for me, with an eGo Twist & Vivi Nova, it's easy to assure someone that I am not actually "smoking". I say, keep the different form factor. I am most self conscious when I am using my carto pipe as it is visually exactly the same as a traditional pipe.

I don't want my PV to look like a cigarette, not now, not ever.

How about we just meet half way and say the future of vaping is a device that (work very well) is a similar size and weight as a real cigarette but doesn't necessarily have to look identical to one.

Nope dont want it.....Form factor seems to be a serious consideration for you.....Ive already gotten past that and I dont want anything smaller.....even if they could condense a Provari down to that size I still wouldnt want it. Its too easy to lose.....and I dont think like a smoker anymore anyways

They dont make a carto thats good for 75-150 puffs....I see we have our work cut out for us with this group :)

I think a better compromise is acknowledging that each person finds their own sweet spot with vaping. I would like to see performance on cig alikes improved if for no other reason to get more smokers to give vaping a decent shot. I know I love my m401 for its size but my bigger ego is much more convenient. I look forward to seeing what improvements develop in the industry coming back to vaping after a hiatus I was surprised to see what all had happened. I can't wait to find out what wonders vv holds!

Aye. I like the big mods for reasons beyond simple performance. I like the look and feel of a big steel mech mod, or the hand-made artistry of my pipe. I like fiddling with things. I'm a gun nut, too, and while the utter practicality of a Glock is hard to beat, I'd miss the superior ergonomics and deep, lustrous blue of my Browning.

Im going to assume by your join date and number of posts that youre new to all of this and take it easy on you.

Most new vapers come to a forum like this for a couple of reasons but the main one is because they are looking for something better than what they picked up in a gas station or convenience store.

The vast majority of come in here saying they want something that looks and feels like a cigarette but end up changing their minds once they realize that they cant get what they need in that small of a form factor. The technology doesnt exist yet and it might not 10 years from now either.

Mods and APV are the future and the reason why your comment was insulting is because it discounts all the hard work and progress thats been made (mainly by fellow vapers on THIS forum) in those areas in favor of YOUR preference for a cig-alike.

You have things a little backwards in regards to vaping. The people on this forum are the mainstream of vaping. Most of those buying cig-alikes try em once or twice, end up dissatisfied and throw em into a drawer somewhere and forget about em.

This is exactly how I got into Vaping 8 days ago. Tried Blu, hated it, came here to research, got ego style with juice and wouldn't go back to cigalike. If I know a smoker I recommend they stay away from the tech lacking drugstore models.

haha could you imagine cigalikes being v/vw haha youd need a microscope to view a screen on them.

no matter what improves they make a cigalike im not getting one again, i started on one and give away a day later. i dont know about you guys but i felt like a baby , that i was too young to have a real cig so my mom had bought me a toy replica , with little flashing lights so i felt people would look and make me feel special. awful.

the guy whose going round saying they are the future , your basically saying that the future for cars is to go back to the square wheel....

Exactly.....Its easy to make the assumption sometimes that everyone wants the same things you want but when it comes down to it were all individuals and will have different needs and wants.

I dont want anything ever again that feels like a cigarette in my hand, Ive moved beyond that and evolved into something better.

Well thats fair enough but I assure you the masses do care. Most people in general and especially smokers are image conscious.

Its not just that though.......I personally want a device that is really small, light, I can rest in between my lips and that only requires a 2 second puff to get a nice throat hit/vapor.

I don't want to turn vaping into a hobby, I just want it to replace my cigarette habit with it and get on with my day as usual.

How is having something cigarette sized that performs similar to the bigger devices you have going to make it any less better though?
