Tabata shoulders yesterday:
-DB Press
-Quad extensions
-Military press machine
-Bent-over cable flys
-Lateral raises
-ABS (x2 rounds of 8 sets)

Tabata Bi's today:
-Straigh bar curls
-Weight sled squats
-Calf extensions
-Incline curls
-Machine preacher curls
-Hammer curls
-Abs (x2 rounds of 8 sets)

Warm-ups, cool downs and stretching done both days

I'm exhausted. 3 minutes for each exercise round doesn't sound like much, but by the 8th set I can generally only get 3-4 good reps. Total muscle exhaustion.

I actually feel great and if I had enough energy to move I would do a cartwheel...

The weekend is coming and I plan on doing some "carb loading" with "12-oz" curls! :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I cannot like this post :(

So...how to motivate you? Hmm ?

Thursdays are just a normal non-workout day for me, as I try to workout on Friday morning. And it's the end of my workweek and I'm tired. I'll be back with the program in the am.. Promise. :)

coils to make now. Mine are looking pathetic.

As thought as hard as could to think of what kind of workout or exercise or muscle involved "coils"... I mean actual "minutes" went by...

Than realized what forum this was.

Also realized it must be time for bed because my brain is no worky well right now. :)

G'night Nuts.

I'll see everyone on the road for a run tomorrow? ( Looking at you Bridget... ;) )

Haven't gotten a workout in at all last two days. I do want to try the couch to 5k thing so will fight to find time today.

Can't wait to get some exercise in outside. Gardening, cutting wood, etc even if they take hours its far more fun for me. This cold weather is sapping my motivation and my give a damn...

Completed first half hour on the program. It was running for 60 seconds and walk for 90 seconds. Resistance was 3/10 clicks lol. My "walk" was around 5mph and run was between 7-7.5. Not sure I completely believe anything this little computer thing says. Either way, worked up a good sweat, but my knee hates me now. "Cool down" for 5 minutes I wandered around the house walking normally lol.

I'm not sure this would translate to actually running for normal people. I'll never know because I can't run (metal in my ankle that he said would break a bone with that kind of impact) but I don't think the elliptical works the same muscles etc

I'm not sure either how this translates to running equivalency. Running just impacts my joints so hard. Especially with the arthritis that I have developing in my hips. The elliptical has no impact on the joints and I've not had problems with the hips. The one that I developed, I think that had more to do with a back issue that I got from riding the stationary bike. It has since gone away and I've stayed off the bike.

We are having pizza again tonight so I am FOR SURE getting on the elliptical
I am down below my goal by almost 3 lbs. So I can afford to gain some. I like playing this game ;)

To put all this into perspective: Rick's daughter is getting married in August (Yeah, I know, a Long time from now) and we will be at a beach house with all of our kids and families of the kids for the week before the wedding. I KNOW I will probably gain some with all the food that will be consumed during that week. I want to have room to gain before the wedding. Plus I don't want to scare the grandchildren when I am wearing my swimsuit. LOLOLOL

I figure if I can get my mind and body trained to eat in a respectable manner, it will be easier to shove away from the table at the appropriate time. ;)

My goal at this point has changed just a bit.

Don't discount the effort put into using an elliptical. It's tough! My legs burn every time I get on mine, and when I run I never notice my legs burning.

Way to go Robin! Having a little wiggle room is so nice! And nothing puts my .... in gear like the thought of a swim suit..

Ate way too much Mexican food last night, but hadn't eaten all day so between that and the workout I'm probably fine. Apparently not weighing myself often is a double edged sword. The last few weeks I gained back 5 lbs, today I've lost one of those. Busy afternoon and evening ahead.

Next weekend I have to break out the swimsuit :( going to an indoor water park. I'm excited to go but not prepared to stuff myself into spandex. Soldiering on

Weighed again this morning and weight was back up, it has to be water weight. If a pound is 3500 calories (on top of your normal amount) there is not a single possibility I gained 3 lbs in two days. Guess I'll be downing the water today by the gallon. Also gonna try for the second session of the program, didn't get it done over the weekend.

Elliptical is working (mostly) the same muscles, just from different angles. Most machines will let you change your form and/or elliptical set up to either more closely resemble or divert from running. The biggest differences are the lack of core activation (runners see because they have one foot on the ground) and reduced load on the hamstrings. The Elliptical actually does a better job of working out the gluten, hip flexors and calves!

Is this the C25K program? I'd be interested in your plan.

me three !! I skipped yesterday and not feeling today either, but for sure back at it tomorrow

I skipped all weekend... Unless you count 7 hours of cutting, carrying, stacking, unstacking, restocking and burning wood.

Good for you! I change up my goals to work different aspects. Usually after I make a weight goal I either start working on a mass goal or a cardio goal, but the impending summer has got me in full swing for fat burning.

Don't discount the effort put into using an elliptical. It's tough! My legs burn every time I get on mine, and when I run I never notice my legs burning.

Absolutely don't sell your chariot efforts short. Calorie expenditure for roughly the same as running for similar heart rates and times AND most folks tend to think they did less than they actually did while on the elliptical!

GP. Way to go! What's your goal? Time to reach?

Eh, your screen name says it all... :)

If nothing else, when I eat a crappy meal that makes me feel bad, I at least now know that my diet "brain-washing" is working!

I'll start Monday off:

-5 mile road run - 48 minutes :)
-Tabata Triceps still pending for this afternoon. :(

Didn't mark what I did yesterday here, so:

Last night I just did 4 miles with no resistance. Just kept the speed at about 60 rpm. Some weights also, not very much.
I notice that if I take one or two days off, it is hard to get back into that groove. I think, for myself, I need to do some elliptical work daily. Even if it is just a straight 3 or 4 and call that my off day, then go back to resistance the next day and really work it out.
