So I woke up with a massive headache in the middle of the night. And now I can't sleep. 10K ain't happening. :(

But I've lost 70 pounds! Good gracious...mind=blown. But it begs the question...why the hell did I get so FAT to begin with?!? I'm working on that part. :) 3 more to go.....................

I can only answer for me, but I got fat because I was comfortable, I made excuses to eat and not workout and it was easy to make health my #150th priority in the daily grind.

It was so easy, I didn't even know it happened. I realized I was fat when one day I was tying my shoe and in between one shoe and the other I realized I couldn't breath because I had to hold my breath in order to be able to lean over. WTH?!? When did that happen? I was genuinely perplexed at the time and had no idea of what events lead me to being I the guy in the mirror because in my mind I still saw the thin active guy I was in my 20's.

Races will come and go so there will be another. :(

Hopefully that -70lbs takes some of the sting out.

Starting a new diet on Monday. It's a fasting diet where I take in only about 25% of my total calories ~(400) on Sun, Tues, & Thurs. All the other days are normal intake (~1600). I generally give myself 1600 calories a day which are all "healthy" calories (I.e. Lean meats, whole foods, brown carbs, etc...) and I let myself have 1/2 of my daily exercise calories for crap food (beer, cupcakes, chips, etc...).

The fasting is supposed to help with the midsection fat so maybe I'll be able to get my abs some sunshine this summer.

Last tabata of this week's cycle (tri's) tonight so maybe I can get a rest day tomorrow and only do a slow, high mileage fun run.

Yeah, a bad headache, 3 hours sleep, 21 degrees at race start, start time at 7:30 am, across town, race partner not able to make it...yeah I'm glad I cancelled the 10K. But I decided to clean my closet today instead. It is still full of fat clothes. It feels good to get rid of it all!

I got fat because of a breakup, then depression, then being overwhelmed as a single Mom, stressed to the max. I gave up. Eating felt good. For 7 long years. My dead years. But with the help of inspirations along the way, and seeing a picture of myself at my son's birthday party last March 16th, I decided being fat was no longer cool. Not only the weight and diet, but the entire health. Mentally, physically, and yes even spiritually. I want holistic health. I finally went to doctor's appointments and got checked out. Learning about nutrition. Exercising my buttocks off. Last year was amazing! And this year continues to prove I'm still making positive lifestyle changes.

And you probably added years to your life while feeling good while you take your time getting there. :)

CN... How will you have any energy on 400 cal per day? I'd be light headed and ill feeling.

I'm not sure how I'll deal with it yet. I'm not just trying to shed fat from the fasting, though. I'll make my cals on the fast days as high-fiber as possible so I can help detox and purify myself at the same time, plus I plan on drinking as much H2O as I can fit as well as maintain my complex and robust vitamin regimen.

I want:
1. See if this plan works
2. Purify and cleanse my body and mind
3. Shed some hard to reach fat
4. Better recognize what is hunger from my body and what is hunger from some other area.

Maybe I'll wash out early. Maybe I'll finish a few weeks (days) and find out the stress on my body isn't worth the gain. I'm not sure what's going to happen, but I'm curious and motivated, so I'll keep checking in to let you all know how it works.

Rest easy, my health and safety is my first priority.

2nd priority: ABS! :)

Not my best running time today but is beautiful out so I enjoyed it.

There was this older gentleman at the track, I've seen him there before. He runs on the grass just inside the turf. He startled me at one point, I was walking and he caught up to me. Anyway, he was on lap 22!! And he was still running when I left!

Walked for two hours at the mall while Hubby and MIL saw a movie. Didn't buy a thing. Didn't see anything I really wanted either. I hate shopping.

I did see a dress that would work for the rehearsal dinner. So I came home and ordered it online...how stupid is that? LOLOLOL I wanted to get Rick's input on the dress and by the time they were out, I only had enough energy to show him. I had thought it would work for the wedding itself, but MIL said it would be perfect for the rehearsal dinner. She sat on a bench while I dragged him to the store I saw it in. He showed her a picture that he took while I went and brought the car around for her.

So anyway, I got my walking in. Legs feel it more than when I use the elliptical  I didn't sit down till I got to the spot to wait for them to come out.
