While its true that I dont have any stake in this matter,Ive seen enough of these threads to realize that people calling for understanding and sympathy are actually enabling frauds like this to be perpetrated to begin with.

CON MEN THRIVE OFF OF TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE GOODWILL OF OTHERS! Thats one of the reasons "family matters" are usually mentioned in threads like these, to gain sympathy and a little time, nothing more.

Whether Jason meant to do this or not, the results are still the same and at this point I dont think anyone cares about the reasons why.
I'm not advocating that someone go to his house with a baseball bat but get a clue here.

If the guy had dropped into a forum or a thread and attempted to keep people up to date or at least explain the delays and offer refunds THEN would be the time for a little sympathy and understanding.His continuing silence and unwillingness to speak to even his closest friends or worry about what this would do their integrity speaks volumes.

You can call it stirring the pot or whatever you want but If it were my money (and Ive been in this situation before) I wouldnt let some bleeding heart with close ties to the person in question derail the indignation and outrage some of you are feeling. Some people are just born victims and will constantly let themselves and others be taken advantage of without ever doing anything about it.

That being said, I hope everyone affected takes some of the great advice in this thread and files reports and complaints wherever they can to show this guy and others that they cant away with this here.

I also hope that all of you either get your money or you mod but Im not naive enough at this point to think its very likely and Im certainly not about to sing this guy praises even then.

I've stated my view on this, and I'll say it again, to everyone who keeps saying that Jason is a good man, and he didn't intend for any of this to happen, doesn't negate the facts that it did/is happen(ing). My children don't intend to get F's in school, but sometimes they do.

I can't dicect Jasons intentions, and neither can anyone else, no matter how well you think you know the man, you are not privy to his internal machinations. All I, or anyone else has to go on are his actions, which everyone agrees are reprehensible.

I personally don't wish Jason or the rest of the Vape Team any ill will, I don't attribute to any of them sinister motives, I'm willing to give everyone involved the benefit of the doubt.

That said, here are the facts, I view what has gone on with Jason as separate from the VT, JBox appears to be a one man show.

We have a modder, who has taken orders from at least 65 people, for a product that costs at its base $250, many have been waiting for months, and the only info they have received has been sparse at best, and has seemingly flat out lied to many of us, myself included. Add to this that as far as we can tell that he made 5 or 6 that got into the hands of prominant high profile people in the community who went about promoting them, and has seemingly not made any since. And now will not respond to emails from his customers or even the people in this community who say that they know him well. Oh yeah and his site is still taking orders that he seemingly has no intention of filling. The very least he could do is shut off new orders til he gets caught up. Excuse me if I'm not comforted by the proclamations that he is a good man at this point.

The VT is a different deal all together, they are not guilty, but they were the ones that first introduced the world to the JBox, not a crime. They set about doing video reviews, and oh yeah, he is a member of the VT, no crime. Most of us were introduced and sold on the JBox by the VT, again, not a crime.

My issue is after the fact, recognize your role in this, not that you have any obligation to make things right, I don't expect that and neither does anyone else. But you have a prominant place in this community, and to leave up videos promoting a device made by your cohost, that has now turned into a fiasco, and not having the basic understanding that people follow the word of Dimitri and CJ, and if someone happens upon on one of your vids, or saw one way back, and doesn't know about whats going on, and goes to buy a JBox today, seeing as how he is still taking orders, then finds out later what was going on, that person might see the tag line "A show by vapers for vapers" and think "B.S.".

Again, if these guys want to look the other way, that's their right to do so. Just expect many to wash their hands of the VT.

Btw, I understand, this is your friend, no one expects you to drag his corpse through the streets. Just an acknowledgement of the situation, and a warning.

Dear Customer,

This is a general status update email to let you know what is going on and what will be happening. I am truly sorry for the lack of communication and there is no excuse for not trying to keep you better informed. I have had some things that have happened over the last while that have really affected my life and I don't expect everyone to understand, nor do I want anyone to feel bad for me. I tragically and unexpectedly lost someone very close to me and it has been one of the hardest things for me to deal with in my life. With that happening and being a single father raising my two children, I decided I needed a break to try and be there for my kids as best as I could and this is the reason that I left the Vapeteam. Now that some things are behind, me my plan is to finish up all of the current orders and try to have everything complete in January. After I get caught up I will not be making Jboxs for the public anymore but will still honor warranties for existing customers. I am definitely not trying to take off with anyone’s money and not give them what they ordered. I am truly very sorry and I greatly appreciate the ones that have been supportive and patient as it has been a very hard time in my life. I will try my best to keep you informed each on an individual basis as I have been receiving over 200 emails a day, mostly from people that aren’t customers and it takes me a lot of time to sift through all the mail. Just another note, my ordering system started at 400, and that includes previous juice orders and people that have reached the checkout page but not completed an order. It doesn’t “start over” but it moves to the next number in sequence. Contrary to popular belief, I have 27 outstanding orders on the books and several of these are people that are waiting on an upgrade that needs testing before final release. The site will not take any new orders but I will keep it up for current customers to look at pictures that I will be posting and for some that need to see the woods for reference.

I'm willing to give Jason the benefit of the doubt and turn this from him being villified to being a hero

The only way I'd call him a hero is if I have my completed mod in hand by the end of the week. Anything else, and he's just a business man doing the best he can.

But hey, that's just me talkin'. I'm just stoked he's back in the shop taking care of business. Especially for you guys that have been waiting months, plural. Not whiners like me that have only been waiting a month, singular. :D

You people were so quick to jump to conclusions. You ought to be ashamed :D

Im not ashamed, I still think that all of this could been avoided with a simple email months ago.

I wouldnt be so quick to call him a hero either, If I recall correctly Chopper also made a post in his thread promising pretty much the same thing after being threatened with legal action.All it was in his case was a stalling tactic.

I hope that isnt the case here and that he ends up making good on his promises.Only time will tell.
