I just stumbled across this while going through my PayPal info: "PayPal requests more information from the seller to resolve the issue. If the seller doesn't respond within 10 days, we close the case and restore funds to the rightful owner." This was escalated on the 17th. So if he can't get out of it, I'll have a resolution by the 27th. But I'll be surprised if he can't get himself out of it.
I got a email from paypal regarding my dispute/claim

We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your
favor.
