How are you? :)
Good morning,
I'm doing well thank you, how are you??

Good morning all.
...house is all quiet.
DH left to take nephew back to the airport around 7:45 this a.m., Sister and BIL left at 9.
DH picked up McDonald's breakfast for us on his way back.

I've eaten, am sipping my third cuppa, on the sofa cuddled with Rita.
DH is relaxing in the cave....
I'll start laundry in a bit, sheet and towels...

We had a great visit with family. It's been a busy last two and a half days.
Glad to have nowhere to "be" today.

Dad's graveside service was very nice. There was a good turn out considering it was just basically family.
There's really no one left on Dad's side...a couple cousins, but we've not been in contact with them since before their parents passed...they didn't attend, they prob didn't know about it, but all of our family on Mom's side came, well, all living members...minus one cousin.
I was very touched that they came to support us.
We may not talk or see them for months, or years, but they're all *right* there when it matters. :)
We had military honors, so the VFW Veteran's came.
I've seen it in movies, and such, but that was my first real life experience.
It was quite moving to experience.

Before the service, we'd gone to a local burger place that my BIL just loves, the owner belongs to our church, they've been in business for prob close to 40 years, so I was glad we went.
Then we went to my brothers, spent the day there, and then went out for pizza...again, my BIL's choice, he LOVES both places, and they're a must for him when they visit ...another local place.
The food is good at both places, so no one minded at all.

On Thurs., we took my nephew to see his grandmother on his dad's side...she's a hundred, and in REALLY great shape. Still lives in her own home.
Her son and his wife live right next door, they help her with anything she needs.
Food shopping/preparation, supervising that meds are taken correctly, etc.
I'm guessing that she still gets taken to the beauty shop as well, she looked adorable.
Her son, my nephew's uncle, is retired military, he worked at, and retired from The Pentagon.
We got the grand tour of their home, they loved to go antiquing, and to estate sales when they lived in Virginia all those years.
Many old pictures...Lincoln, Grant, Lee, etc. Civil War stuff, an AMAZING lock collection, old handcuffs/shackles....could've stayed there a week or so just looking at things.
They live out in the country, really middle of nowhere, their property has a huge pond on it, and the landscaping is very simple, but really pretty, and perfectly manicured (by him...he'll be 76 this year).
I told them they could put a little ticket booth at the end of their driveway and open the house as a museum.

I see a long nap in my future today, and other than laundry, not a lot else planned. ;)

OBG, same here with the boomers and rain....off and on all night.

Joey, hope all goes well with your surgery! So glad you're not living alone this go around!! :nun:

Bobbi, just hate that you got snow. Hope it all melts today and that the spring bloom doesn't end up having to start over.

Wow Lori, sounds like you had a really busy few days! Glad some of it was pleasant :)
Your dads service sounds like a nice one.

Yeah, it was a bad flood... we got out of it early or we probably wouldn't have. We had gone to the convention center to see Conway Twitty ( who was a no show:nah:) and left early, it wasn't raining when we arrived and the water was already half way up the side of the car when we left. It was frightening!

    Conway Twitty...*sigh*
Well, that had to be disappointing that he was a no show. :(
Was your car ruined?? My gosh, can't even imagine!!

It flew so fast, and is now really a blur. Wed. night wasn't too late, but Thurs. & Fri. night I didn't get to bed until around 12:30. Not all that late, but my morning internal 5:15 a.m. alarm didn't get the memo that we didn't have to keep waking up that early.
Fairly certain I'll sleep good tonight.

    Hiya Lori :)

    Thanks, it did.
It's been about 22 years since we've all been together.

We've mostly all seen each other at some point, but we haven't ALL been together at once since my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration in 1995.
My nephew in FL, hasn't seen his cousin (my nephew who lives in Tn) for about 12 years.

    Surprisingly not :?:

Yeah, I've always been a big fan of Conway  But I'm a born and bred country music lover ;)

Have a peaceful nap OBG, DH has been back in bed for quite a while now.

Hang in there Bobbi, next thing you know it will be Summer!

Our county is forecast a solid 4" of rain through Sunday night. We'll see if they're even close on that.
How's it looking for your area OBG??
This was from someone at KSDK's twitter feed.
    Better stay home!
