Nice BUTCHER job on that tree, no? Several years ago tree trimmers came through. The guy who did that was climbing the tree. Was impressive to watch, but wish they'd have balanced it more.
When we moved here, the guy from the village said that the tree belonged to the village. It's on what is technically an "alley", that was never made into an alley.
Well, then the State of IL said that cities, villages, and municipalities could "give" the landowners the property.
So, now they say it's our tree. I call BS.

    Your tree?! :glare:

I hate to see the way they treat those trees :( Some I'd rather see cut down than cut in half like that

I wasn't the one who paid the trimmers.

Power people came out here one time asking for permission to trim the top out of one of our trees ... I told him he was welcome to cut the whole thing down ... and he did
Chipped it up and everything :)

Good evening Dale, Lori & last but not least ;) OBG

    Morning all

Sara, had no idea how to do the tag a person thingy so.. just quoted a post from you [emoji23]

Lurkers often moves a little quick for the amount of times I'm able to check in, so I usually just scan through posts quickly. However, I did catch the sad news about your aunt. When someone such as you finds themselves with a heavy heart, I hate to let the news pass by without offering my condolences, sorry for your loss

Awww, thank you. so sweet, you are.

:drool::drool: I need to find the recipe for the first one. That looks awesome. The second wouldn't last a minute in this household.

Might be a storm over there :)

Yeah, it was over here. ;) We even had a tornado watch  lots of yards/ditches flooded. There is a low spot in the front yard near the ditch that looks like an infinity pool. And of course the house looks like a castle with a moat around it. (A small castle that is lol)

Around here they don't ask they just show up and start cutting, except for one tree up the road from me that a little old lady owned when they showed up there she would go sit on her porch with a shotgun and threaten to start shooting if the started cutting her tree. They left her and her tree alone till a few weeks after she died

It's not enough to make a difference on taxes.
DH mentioned once that we've never seen our abstract updated to include that.

    That's awesome!!

And even worse with that bunch I'm sure they were 1/2 drunk when they went to bed
That's the scary thing about ending up half liquored in bad weather.

    ....welcome to Illinois.

    Hi Sara.

    They don't ask here either.
    That's an awesome story.
I've heard rumor that when the guy that lives diagonally behind us dies that they're going to open up the road next to the N side of our house to meet the next street over.
Right now, our street dead ends if you turn right. If you turn left, it takes you back around, kind of like a U.
If they open up that to the next street, there will be a "for sale" sign in our yard. ;)

Don't know where her's was but ours was up close to the house, not down by the road.

    That's awesome!!

On the original village map, the street goes thru, but they never got around to finish connecting the streets, and now he thinks that part of the land is his.
I've heard they're not in a rush and it's just easier to wait until he dies.
    Guess he's lived here forever.
