Our neighbor said that he planted grapes, for eating. That they should be ready in Aug.
You can see the tops of the vines just peeking above the fence....
I told him that depending on which way the birds perch...he may end up on our side helping scrub bird poo.
He laughed and said that yeah, they're going to perch there for sure once the grapes are on.
They perch there anyway because he also has bird feeders on right next to the fence.
The outside thermometer is broken...the coldest it measures is around 70 degrees, and it goes to 100F in no time.
Need to get a new one, but I like THAT one.

We have not a shade tree...well one in the front yard, but it doesn't shade anything til late afternoon really...not sure it shades the house much, maybe the garage.

...he also told me yesterday morning that the mosquito season is in full swing down where he is.
He said he can't even sit in his screened in porch for his morning coffee anymore. He said the minute you exhale and they smell the carbon dioxide, they're zero in and are on you full out.
This is his 4th or 5th year on Chokoloskee Island, and he said it's the worst he's experience...said they're always worse certain times of the year, but this year there is a bumper crop of them.
