    That's what DH has our's set to. It's programmed, so it's cool when we get home.
    I just have to bump it the days I'm home.

    Did you open up the house last night, or are you that well shaded?
    We have not a shade tree...well one in the front yard, but it doesn't shade anything til late afternoon really...not sure it shades the house much, maybe the garage.

    I haven't had socks on since work on Friday! :laugh: :facepalm:

    First time my nephew in FL went to Alaska, he had to go buy socks! :laugh:
    He said he had dress socks left from when he worked in the office, but that was it...the man owned NO other socks. :lol:
    I'd love to be able to say that!!

    ...he also told me yesterday morning that the mosquito season is in full swing down where he is.
    He said he can't even sit in his screened in porch for his morning coffee anymore. He said the minute you exhale and they smell the carbon dioxide, they're zero in and are on you full out.
    This is his 4th or 5th year on Chokoloskee Island, and he said it's the worst he's experience...said they're always worse certain times of the year, but this year there is a bumper crop of them.

    ...did I tell y'all that yesterday?? Can't remember if I told you all, or DH. :unsure:
    CRS kickin' in here. :blush:

    ...what Dale said! :laugh:

    :shock::shock:

    :laugh:
    Your poor nephew! :eek:
    No, you didn't tell us that ;)

    My pizza is late :unsure:

    I've got NO sympathy for him...zero. :laugh:
    I tell him, too bad, so sad...go out in your boat. ;)
    This used to be his view...he was one of these on the boardwalk in that curve. (he rented, the owner sold it)
    Now, he's about 20 steps from that.

    He's in this area right here. If you look, you can see where it opens up to the water.
    It's deceiving, it's about 25 to 30 strides to the boardwalk that goes to the water.
    It looks really scrubby that was May of 2001, before everything turned green.

    Good morning lurkers:wub::wub::wub:

    Happy mother's day:wub::wub::wub:

    Been sickly since Thursday morning... I'd put up a pick of my meals since then... but you all have seen a sleeve of saltines and bottle of sprite before...:lol::lol::lol:

    My mother-in-law told me years ago to use ammonia instead of bleach, would whiten without rotting :)
    Dry cleaners secret... in a bucket add 2 gallons of water, 3 ounces of ammonia and 8 ounces of hydrogen peroxide. Allow it to soak all day, stirring when you think about it. This is called slow bleach but can be used on any color. You will be amazed at the difference in anything you use it on. I have blouses I hadn't worn in public for a couple of years that I can now wear any where and now. ;)

    The little turd didn't eat it just tore it all up :mad:
    When I got home from Fort Morgan we had a mouse that almost killed the aloe vera plants I got when my MIL passed away.:evil: Darn thing would dig down and eat the roots... it killed him... might have been the part where I surrounded them with mouse traps...:lol:

    Have wondered where you were.

    Thank you so much for sharing that!! I copied and pasted that for my notes!! :nun:
    I've read that hydrogen peroxide works great, but have not tried it.

    He loves it there. Says the people are "real"...if that makes sense. :)
    Those that live on the island year round, are mostly the folks who work in the tourism industry.
    Boat/Eco (Everglades) tours, charter fishing, food, etc.
    Lots of snow birds live there from Thanksgiving through Easter.

    The downside is the oppressive heat/humidity, mosquitoes, and threat of hurricanes.
    I don't remember which it was, it was before he lived there, but a hurricane went through, and the storm surge brought in enough water that the island was mostly 8 ft. underwater.
    You'll see many homes on stilts. His is about 4 to 5 ft. up.
    Some are around 12 ft. up, some of the block homes aren't raised at all.

    I could be a snow bird. :laugh: As for the heat and humidity, where we live now, we're cooped up months on end in the wintertime, I could be cooped up for a few months to avoid it if it's beautiful the rest of the time, and it is.
    The hurricanes are kind of the deal breaker, but we have tornadoes in our area, so...everywhere has sumptin'. ;)

    Just sat down since my post this morning and boy am I wiped. Flower shopping with my coffee to washing cars, then on to Mom's Day cooking and planting the flowers and rose bushes for Mom, then washed and dried the dishes. There was a few things I forgot to mention but Mom had a wonderful day is all that mattered.

    Yea!! :banana:
    I didn't nap hard, but it was okay. :)
    Was afraid I might have slept too much but the way I'm feeling I think not :?: Then again it wasn't really a restful weekend and last night was short ;)
