And have served!

Does, doesn't it?

Curious it is.

He's 100% pit bull.

Great family dogs, IME.

I figure he's a rescue considering he was purchased at a fire sale from the Wally World parking lot from what looks to be a family typical of one looking specifically for pit bulls.

To be fair, they obviously already had a breeding pair.

8 in the litter. He's the largest.

At least this one will be in a loving home for life.

He's made a new friend against her better judgement and after some serious hair raising and hissing.

Reportedly has been noticed sharing precious realty on mom's lap in a cuddling fashion after some curious investigating during Max's nap time.

Looks like after all the fuss, they're going to get along just fine.

Awwww, so sweet. Katy Kat looks so soft.

Oh my goodness, that is just too much cuteness. Love the name too!:thumb:

Well it was not in and out...and I spent way, way too much...that's what I get for not going for several weeks...and they only had 5 dang cashiers open so the lines were backed up into the clothing aisles...I hate when they do that! :glare:

I didn't even get home until 8:30 and by then I was so frustrated that I didn't even want dinner...oh well, having my adult beverage now and sitting back and cooling off...sweet dreams lovely lurkers.

I'm always amazed when there are so few cashiers. I bet you were frustrated. :( I would have been too.

They probably didn't have much of a choice. We had only 4 cashiers today after a good chunk of them called in. Don't know what some of these idiotic kids think, but there were 4 firings last week because they thought they could call in whenever they wanted to without consequences. I expect there will be a few more very shortly.

So yeah, it was a bloody zoo, with a good chunk of the managers having to step in and be a cashier during peak madness times. Thankfully, I was out of there at 7, before it got really crazy. I'm sure it's an absolute zoo in there right now.

And then there's this. The calling in from these youngsters ::shakes cane at them:: Kinda scary how this generation will be the ones taking care of us when we are old. Good grief!

Lolz! A zoo, you say. ;)

Some of the stuff I see is mind boggling. Especially from those who are trying to make off with goods that haven't been paid for. The regulars all know that "Sarge" isn't a nice person when provoked to make an appearance.

Good night Lori
Enjoy those fireworks and be careful ... our town lost four condos this weekend due to fireworks. Thank goodness no one was hurt.
Oh thank goodness no one was hurt!! You've been so dry, I'm surprised they didn't postpone it.
They've had to do there here before. It was late Oct. when the fireworks display was actually held.

It was a really nice display. It always surprises me how nice it is for such a small town.
It also surprises me how much $ some (locals) spend on their own fireworks. I think there are some competitions going on.
The residents were setting them off until after 11 last night.

That's great they they're bonding!!
Rita was raised with a cat or two, they don't phase her at all....much to their surprise. She doen't chase, or even acknowledge them if one happens to get in our backyard.

Ugh, that stinks. :(

I used to work at my Walmart here many, many years ago...we were always understaffed way back then and it's still pretty much the same...I do understand about the kids that work there these days though...or anywhere for that matter...they just don't have any kind of work ethic at all.
DH was telling me about the son of one of his customers.
The guy is a golf course superintendent, and one of the hardest working men you'll meet. He was telling DH that his HS age son was looking for a summer job so he let him know that another golf course in the area was hiring kids for the summer...so he went...but didn't get the job.
He asked him why, and his son said that he couldn't work the hours they wanted.
The kid told them he could work Monday, Wed., and Fri., but only half a day on Sat.
The guy was just speechless. He said he hadn't raised him to have that work ethic, and had no idea where that came from.
The kid had NO other summer responsibilities that needed working around.
The guy/father said it wasn't over. Irregardless if he found a job or not, this would be a LONG, working summer for the kid.

I slept in!!
It felt really good!! Was almost 7:30 before I woke up, not counting the middle of the night potty call. ;)

Lots of things I should do today, but not sure what I'm going to actually accomplish. :D

:shock::shock::shock:

Walmart is a unique place with all walks of life. But I bet you do see it all. Tell us some stories sometime. :)

Uhhh I can only imagine what "Sarge" is like in person. Well, when you tick him off anyway.

I suspect that won't be the case for Max for years to come considering his breed.

Though being acclimated now, with the family setting and some training...

I suspect 1) there will be some controlling of his instincts and 2) when he gets to chasing it will be in a playful manner.

Fingers crossed.

They were going off on all sides of us til well past 11 too. Some really impressive ones. I got to watch from the couch ;) We're going to take kiddo tonight to see a local display.

There were a lot of those lantern things too, which are banned here in NY. Those make me nervous. They are cool to see, but you just don't know where they will land.

There is a local RV/Trailer dealership nearby, and the owner was telling me the same thing. They can't get anyone dependable to come and work. Cleaning the campers and what not. Kids/young adults don't want to work these days, too entitled. Gimme, gimme, gimme. :(

All this entitlement and lack of work ethic talk has me thinking.

I'm stuck in Von Ormy, TX today. (Just west of San Antonio)

Won't see fireworks. Won't be with my kids. Missing our annual 4th of july softball game. Probably miss my son's birthday.

Because I was given the option to work or not.

Things didn't go as planned, obviously.

My oldest enjoys the fruits of that labor, but doesn't quite get that he too has to be driven.

Good thing that's only 1 out of 3.

Aww man, Beck. I couldn't like that. I'm sorry that you are missing the holiday/traditions with your family. Sometimes it has to be done. :( I hope that we instill those ethics in kiddo. It's hard working full time and having a family.
Good morning Lurkers :)

Good morning OBG. Did you get your pie? :)

Hello all my lovely lurkers.

Stayed up late last night and slept in late this morning...was so nice to do that. Today will be another lazy day...had thought about tackling some of this mess in my room and getting it straightened up a bit, but nah! ;)

Beck, so sorry you're away from home and loved ones on the holiday. :(
Oh, not envious of you having to train a pup.

Good morning OBG.
Lucky me.

I get to reap the rewards.

I only had to train the family to train the pup.

There's a wonderful guy on YouTube. Zak George.

My entire childhood we were rehabbing animals.

Mom's a career nurse with a bleeding heart.

I've enlisted her and a dear friend that owned a pet store for a couple decades to remind me of what I've ignored through childhood.

Between the lot... and with the total infatuation of my older two and their mother... Max should remain healthy, trained, spoiled and happy for life.

My 5 yr old is a different story. Max is but a mere momentary distraction at best.

But he's good with pets as far as respect and temperament.

Afternoon Angel.
Ah, I might lay around later. Haven't done a whole lot today yet. Daily (normal) chores, second load of laundry in, dog bathed & ears cleaned.

DH is pressure washing the patio. He did the back of the house yesterday. It's too hot for that, but he's determined to get it done a little at a time, if nothing else.

Shredded chicken pulled from the freezer. Will either have it in BBQ sandwiches, or Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo...haven't decided. Will see how hungry we are when the time comes.

...a nap is on the list for sure.

Beck, sounds like you have a great plan, and have it all worked out! :)
