I'm officially off for the next 3 days...woohoo! :D...Oh wait, my brother will be coming by in a little bit:blink:...oh well, that's enough time to get a quick drink in first so I can handle him. ;)

Aw Lori, looks like Rita is having a good time with her friend...but I bet she'll be real happy to see you when she comes back.

It's been hot as heck here too...heat indexes in the 100s about every day...but it's about to storm out there right now, so it's cooling off a bit for now.
Yea on the long weekend!!
Hang in there with your visit from your brother. I can relate!! I love mine dearly...in short doses,:lol::lol: I tease, but I did get a good brother. You might not hear from him often, but when the chips are down, he's there.
He called and came to see me in the hospital, so I guess we'll keep him. :)

Pictures or it didn't happen :sneaky:

Oh I'm fine, just ready for this week to end ;) Unfortunately I'll have to cut and make a lot of cube steaks tomorrow as all we have will be sold tomorrow

    You seem pretty chipper :thumb:

Awwww!! They made a heart!

Look at all the treats in the floor!

Yay for a three day weekend Angel! You'll enjoy it :)
We have one coming in September :thumb:
    Pics, you're funny!!
It helps sooooo much being at home!!
I really hadn't thought about it until they asked at the hospital, but this was my first real surgery...ever...well, I had my tonsils out when I was 5, but don't remember much about that other than a raw throat after, and lots of popsicles. I've had various biopsy procedures, and some polyps removed, but nothing like this.
I found a good article on what to expect afterward, and it sounds like I'm right on track!

The treats are just a once a day thing. They throw a few on the floor for each of them...not stuff I give Rita, but Gretchen is 17 and in GREAT shape considering her age, so I don't question it. :)

Bet Rita misses her worm jerky and her mom :D
    I bet she does!!

enjoyed a rare day off today did a couple of quick errands and then a 4 hour nap LOL
    I'd call that a successful day off!!!:thumb::thumb:

    Good evening lurkers

Lori, glad to hear you're up and around. Love the pic of Rita and Gretchen. So sweet sitting back to back. I agree, that belly button incision was the worst, had to use the rubber band trick on my pants for awhile after returning to work because it would rub. ;)

Dale, I hope your Friday goes quickly. That's alotta cube steaks. Thanks for the yummy desserts, I'm gonna sneak one #2 on my way out.

Angel, I had forgotten what you said about your brother the first time I quoted you. Have another stiff one. ;) I hope you enjoy your weekend and that it goes smoothly.

I'm with Dale on the key lime pie, OBG, I would have thought you had only a quarter left by now. You're slowing down my friend. Kidding. I know you are savoring every bite. ;)

Long day and I've have a bit to do before bed. So I'm gonna say sweet dreams for now.
Yep, up and around for sure! DH worked from home yesterday and did all the laundry, and although he protested, I convinced him that I was perfectly able to fold and put things on hangers.
I have a feeling my next dryer will be one that you don't have to bend over and reach way inside.
I only did light, easy things, but I have to keep moving and doing as many normal tasks as I can or I'll lose my sanity.

Next thurs I have a dr's appt about my shoulder progress, I hope to be released for work :)
Praying that you'll get released, I know you're sooooooo ready!! :nun:

Good morning lovely and handsome Lurkers
    Good morning Dale.

    Mornin' luvs
    Good morning Robin.
Hope all is well with you, I'm a few days behind watching for your progress reports.

Good morning to all the sleeping Lurkers!
I'm doing well this a.m. Had (another) restless, up and down night last night, but everything I'm experiencing is just part of the normal process.
...anyhoodles, ready for some breakfast so I'll be back later. :)

Not much to report on my front. PET scan scheduled for the 29th. I'm scared yet excited yet hopeful. Hope to see some shrinkage?

Trying not to think about it. I'm going to Michigan in 7 days so that will keep my mind off of it for the whole time. We get back the day before the scan.

Since I'm leaving the day after my next scheduled treatment, we are skipping the Oxi (big bad chemo drug that causes the most side effects) and only doing an injection of the other chemo (usually injection and pump) I should be side effect free for my trip.

I will still get the blood thinner (keeps the liquid buildup at bay). This will be a nice sorta break. :)

My CEA (colon cancer blood marker) did drop from the last time. That's always good news. :D Still really high but the movement is in the right direction.

Very normal. Your body went through a lot. I had to sleep in a separate bed. Pillows piled all around me to keep me immobile yet supported. :p

Speaking of belly buttons, three procedures now going through there for me. I think it is numb now.

Oh Robin  That all sounds so good!! ((((HUGS))))
Gosh, it's such a slow process, that would drive me INSANE, but your attitude is absolutely amazing!!
I know you will get through this!! :nun:

I've been doing that. I tried our bed the first night home, but I woke him every time I was up and down.
I started on the couch last night because I could use the back of it to help steady myself and move around.
That helps a lot!! I ended up just restless and uncomfortable, mostly my back, and finally went to the guest room.
I'm definitely seeing/feeling progress in getting in and out of bed, that was the worst part, well and coughing, laughing, or sneezing. But I can tell that's not as bad this a.m. too. :nun:

No lie, *shudder* my belly button puckered when I read your 3x.

DH texted that he can work from home this afternoon, and that he'll be home all weekend so if I want him to go get "the rodent", he will.
So... of course I'm REALLY excited now!!!

    Good morning lovely lurkers.

It's my day off and wouldn't you know it, I still woke up right before my alarm would have gone off. :glare:...Took me a while, but I did finally get back to sleep for a couple more hours.

Brother never made it over to the house last night...turns out he has a horrendous toothache and his mouth is swollen...that may be a good thing, means he can't talk much. ;)...He'll be coming by this afternoon though when our dad gets here...then I'm going to have a full house....thank goodness I don't have to cook for all of them...Dad will be taking us all out to eat. :D

Joey, good luck with the doc next Thursday...yeah I'd be a little anxious too...keeping fingers crossed for you that he releases you.

Lori, sounds like you're recovering well...just don't try to do too much...just because you feel like you can doesn't mean your body is quite up to all of that yet.

Thank you for the update Robin. You sound in such good spirits and that's always a good thing. I'm glad the CEA is dropping. Yay!! I hope you have a wonderful trip. Very nice that you'll get a break from the Oxi. (((Hugs and prayers to you)))

I knew it was Fri-YAY for a reason. Aww, reunited with Rita!! I bet you missed her something awful. So glad she'll be home with you for the weekend.
