    Lunchtime flyby...

Has been heavy rain most of the morning, but at least it slacked of in time for lunch...it'll be coming in bands for the next couple of days.

Lori, hope your doctor appointment went well.

Paul, glad it wasn't worse there...yeah those dang insurance adjusters can really slow things down sometimes...and OBG is right, watch out for that black mold...that's what got me after Katrina, and it was 6 months later before I got sick from it...that stuff is bad, bad news.

Sure wish you and everyone down there the best. Will be praying for you all. I had a roof leak over the bathroom, and it actually started developing dull black spots on the ceiling before the paint cracked and started leaking. After this storm finally finished, I now have a leak in the living room. That was detected right away because that ceiling is textured and some of that came off and was on the floor. At least my repairs are going to be minor compared to a lot of others.

Yeah, I know it's bad stuff. I'll read up on the proper techniques for getting rid of it. Now, I know where the leak is. I'll fix it and then gut the bathroom and redo it.

    Good afternoon all.

Dr.'s appt. went very well!! Thank you ALL for the thoughts and prayers!!! So very much appreciated.
She said the two (small) spots are two different kinds of benign polyps. No treatment needed what so ever. :nun:

Paul just hate that you'll have all that (more) work ahead of you to deal with.
I know compared to others, you're so very blessed, but still, you always seem to have such a full plate. :(

I've been watching all the goings on and reports coming out of Texas, and my heart is so very heavy for everyone. :nun:

So glad your appointment went well, Lori[emoji2]!

It does seem to be a never-ending battle dealing with projects, repairs and whatnot. No wonder why so many opt to rent so that they have no maintenance to do. I'll get the stuff done. That bathroom will now have to be a priority project. I have my front porch to rebuild, too. Some time back, a tree branch came down and punched a hole in the roof of the porch. I haven't repaired it because the whole porch is slated for overhaul. I wish I had the money to stay home and get everything done.

I know, sometimes the grass definitely looks greener for renting vs. owning, but both have drawbacks.

...lots of rescues going on now. :( I'm going to have to turn this off soon.

I'd be willing to bet a guy could work 7/12's after the water recedes for years in Texas if he wanted to
There aren't enough reputable contractors in the country to handle all the work there's going to be down here. It's going to take years to rebuild. I was scheduled to go to a vape convention at the George Brown center in 3 weeks, but with 9000 evacuees there, it's most likely going to be cancelled.

I'm thinking about looking into hauling FEMA trailers down there, their going to need thousands of them for all of the displaced people,or I can work out of one of the halls down there and delay my retirement checks :)

Sadly these type of weather disasters end up being great, in the long run for business. So I hear.
Just so sad so many people have had their lives completely upended.

The guy I work with just texted, they've landed in NOLA.
