HI all, anyone have any idea how long it takes for a 24lb bird to thaw I have till Sat :)
That's a big bird. :)
We do a 10-12 lb. for us and it takes a few days in our fridge.

Okay, I'm headed to soak.
Sweet dreams when you go if I don't make it back.

Good evening Lurkers :)
I got home before dark!

Sorry your week is starting out at a drag Sara :(

I keep having trouble getting a post to post, aggravating
It's prolly just because I know there are things at home I need to finish up before Thursday ;) and I had a not so nice customer today that I sorta got not so nice back with. I did go back over to her and apologize. She did too.

Yay, so glad you got home before dark :)

Good evening all.

Yay Dale for getting home before dark. ;)

Was a quiet, yet busy day today...the bosses didn't come in (I didn't expect them to)...well he did for a few minutes to drop off a few things, but that was it...they are heading to Dallas tomorrow to gather their daughter's things...I know that is going to be so hard for them, especially having to do it over the holidays. :(

I am so tired...Princess wore me out this weekend and I didn't get much rest...will probably call it a short night tonight.

Keeping them in my thoughts and prayers. :( Sweet dreams, Angel

DH picked up the machine and cabinet!
Now he's stuck in St. Louis rush hour traffic trying to get back across the river.
He sent me a picture....
Woot!!! Congrats on your new machine  How exciting!!

Paul, happy to hear you have a short week too!! You deserve one of those. ;)

Hiya OBG, sorry, I'm of no help with the turkey. I'm thinking he gets it out of the freezer on Saturday for Thursday (it's usually a big one too, feeds both sides of family) This year we are trying our hand at a fresh one. I just help with the sides. ;)

Sara, sorry for the not so nice customer. :( Glad you worked it out though...and glad I don't have to work with the public like that.

Well...the machine doesn't work right. :( Kind of hard to explain, but you can't fill a bobbin...kind of a necessary part of the operation of the machine.
It will sew with an already filled bobbin. I mended a shirt that has needed it for a long time...
Something could've gotten askew during the transfer to us, or home....no telling.
I'd have paid $40 for a cabinet that would fit my machine, and that appears to be how it's turning out...
Ah well. Thankful that my machine works great, and now I have a cabinet for it, and one for parts, or whatever...maybe a boat anchor. ;)

Sweet dreams Dale, Sara, OBG, KC, Paul, and whoever else happen by.

Sounds like you got a cabinet and one machine needing minor repairs(then can be a back up machine after repairs of course)

Yes, and that's what I was really looking for was the cabinet.
I won't take it in for repairs. Mine works great/good enough.
If one or the other goes down, I'll figure out which to fix then.

Set them side by side and compare things :)
    I already did.
I took a picture of the area where the bobbin goes in my machine and compared it to the one picked up tonight. The center bottom piece looks different on each of the machines, (could be newer, or older, or after market parts on the one picked up tonight) and the arm that's supposed to lock in place when you fill the bobbin, has no tension, and no locking function on the one picked up tonight, it just swings back and forth freely...not supposed to do that.
Then, when you press the button for bobbin filling, the light doesn't come on, and no little noise to signify that it's changed functions. :(
    It be broke. :nah:
Ah well, I have a cabinet.

    Enjoy your TV time OBG.

    Sweet dreams (again) all.

Good morning Dale and lurkers

I agree, Dale. Could've used another hour or two ;)

Aww, Lori. I'm sorry the bobbin thing is broken. Maybe it's an easy fix should you need to have it repaired. Glad you got the cabinet though.

Working with the public can definitely be trying at times but it can also be rewarding. I love waiting on the older customers who love to tell stories of their life. :)

Hope you all have a great Tuesday!!

    Good morning, Lurkers[emoji4]

I had a hard time wanting to get up this morning, too. I'm like a bear and want to hibernate when the weather gets cooler. And I fell asleep in the recliner last night watching tv. Must be my Scandinavian blood.

One more day to go! I took out a small turkey, about 10lbs, on Sunday and sitting in the refrigerator in back. I'll check it tomorrow and see how it's coming along.

    Enjoy your day today.
