In the past, the whole family gathered together for Thanksgiving dinner. Now, there's just not many of us left around. It started dwindling after my mother passed 5 years ago. My sister is an LVN and has to work. All her kids (17 of them) have all grown and moved away, mostly to the Missouri area. Dad just doesn't want to go out. Leaves just us, but will at least take him a plate. My 2 kids are grown, married with kids of their own and have their family functions. It gets rough when everyone is gone.

Wow, 17 kids. :nun:
Much of our family is spread across the USA.
My immediate family/nieces nephews now resides in Florida, Tennessee, and Idaho. DH's family is spread out even more.
His sister is in Michigan near their mom though.

We were invited to my SIL's sister and BIL's. The ones with the party barn. Will be a full house there, bunches of kids, and will be LOUD.
No lie, prob about 50 people will be there.
We've opted to chill out at home....and rest.

About the same here tomorrow I'm going to cracker barrel they put out a good deal on Thanksgiving, then I get to do it again on Sat with the kids(my EX and my son both work for my daughter )so I forgive the kids for celebrating it with their mother every year when Becca(daughter) can get them all off on the same day :)
I've heard they have a very nice Thanksgiving dinner. :)

Good evening lurkers

I agree, thought the day would never end  and now that I'm home, I've a new list of things to finish for tomorrow. Really all I want to do is get in comfy clothes and veg on the couch

Enjoy your Thanksgiving eve all.
Bless your heart!!

First I went out to the mail box in my PJ's and tee shirt it was a little cool so I put on some pants for the other stuff,I didn't think it was bad with pants a tee shirt and flip flops but I did get saw dust between my toes with the chain saw cutting up some cherry logs for the smoker
You're going to lose a toe doing that!!

I feel for you Lori :( I’ve been hearing about that update.

Just don’t go to Cracker Barrel in your pj’s OBG!

Wiped out and ready for a bath :p

I seriously do not understand what's up with the forum.
Lol's, I had no option to like any of the ones that I'd quoted, But Hazy's posts had the option.
It's like it's hit and miss.

On mine pages reload about a third at a time,my guess is it's some kind of cost cutting move :2c:

    Good Evening, Lori.
Thanks for the likes. The new server ECF is using is full of hiccups and glitches.
I'm not sure whether it's poor configuration of Xenforo, slow routers, or that it's so well hidden in the cloud
to protect from DDoS' but lately posting here has not been a pleasant experience.

For example, I posted a video at Redd's 'With a Little Help..' thread and the forum posted four instances of it..
Then editing three of those instances was a mission involving doing the editing on a different tab for each redundant post.
Often since ECF deployed on this server I get an error message stating I need to wait x seconds before posting..ETC.
Same as you with the likes or changing the type of like..Major mission!

What the heck are you downloading SP1 ??
Win 10 is in the nasty habit of updating itself when one turns on the machine.
I don't run it but 'Gita has it on her laptop. She'll be in a hurry to find info for a recipe already cooking
but the laptop wants to update itself for a half hour.

That's exactly what this did. As soon as I turned it on this evening...mega update/download, upgrade...whatever it did.
I already closed a new pin it added to my task bar.
Guess I'll have to go turn all sorts of crap OFF again...grrrr.
Just completely intrusive!! Loads and turns on all sorts of stuff that a) I'll never use, and b) I wouldn't want to use.
    Sorry, rant over.

'Doze 10 spies on you unless you turn a bunch of stuff off in the registry. I tried it and went back to Win 7.

For those of you doing cornbread tomorrow, here's my recipe.

    1 1/4 c. Corn meal
    1 Tbsp. Sugar
    1 1/2 tsp Baking pwdr
    1 tsp Salt
    2 x Large eggs, beaten
1/2 c. Bacon drippings (whadja expect, health food?!)
    1 can Cream style corn
    1 x Yellow onion, diced
1/2 lb Sharp Cheddar cheese, grated (I usually use a full pound)
1/4 c. Pickled jalapeno peppers, finely chopped (seeded and deveined if you wish to reduce the fire a little bit)
1/8 c. (1 small jar) pimento (for color)
2 x Cloves garlic, squeezed through press or possibly otherwise finely mashed

Mix above ingredients in order of succession, dry ingredients first, then add in the rest. Mix only until moistened. Don't over mix. Pour into well greased and floured baking dish. Bake at 400-degrees for 35 min.
