Morning Lurkers

images

since no work today woke up at normal time and decided to go back to bed. new bed made it easy to fall back to sleep, have not done that in a long time.
That's wonderful!! <3

Good morning Lori and KC  That's wonderful news you were able to go back to sleep.

Glad to hear you are better  But sorry you didn't sleep well.

Yay for sleeping in :) Laundry is the bane of my existence. ;)

Thanks girls. Most of what was tossed were extras from the build. Course the Christmas tree will have to be replaced and I had a 3 crock crockpot that was on the floor from moving Christmas totes around. Not enough rice in the house to evaporate water that got in it :lol::lol: I did manage to pick out some pieces of the wood flooring that I think are salvageable and some wire shelving.

What upsets me is that after inspecting the sump pump it's not that the alarm stopped working, the alarm float was never put on. I don't even see that part anywhere in the basement. We ordered a new alarm with wifi to notify us in the event of another problem. Should be here Monday.

We were lucky, it could have been much much worse.

Hope you all are having a good day :)
Worst story I've heard was some people I know came back from vacation to find water about waist deep in their basement. Sump pump failed....fully finished basement.
Darn it, those three crock pot sets ups are nice! My aunt has one.

Been to town and got that out of the way :thumb:

Had lunch at Cajun Boilers ... not particularly impressed.

Is someone a tad cranky today? ;)

Hi KC

You’re a walking... laying? Advertisement for that bed ;) Envious :)

I’d have slept better I bet if I had shut Elly out but she was cold ;)

Well now you know why the alarm didn’t sound off :|

Sorry lunch wasn't all that.

So, I have to show y'all this...
IMG_20180113_095128.jpg

Found myself needing a frame for the 32" scroll rod set I'm using for my new stitching project... (finished the other one, didn't post the pic yet.)
Hadn't bought the floor stand when I bought this size set. The floor stands run between$100 and$150 depending on the size you need.
I've gotten away with not needing one until I got these larger size rods.
Was desperate to figure something out and I channeled my inner MacGyver.
It's a cheapie laptop table turned upside down. A few clips and some gripper drawer liner trimmed so the clamps don't slide.
Works perfectly. Fully adjustable.
Works much better for a scroll frame holder than a laptop table.
Originally purchased for around $15.00. Lol's.

No I’m not cranky I just want the hip to be pain free already. I can not have the hip go into a 90 degree angle it could possibly dislocate, also can not pivot on that leg either. I can not do most everyday things yet going into the 4th week the frustration is starting lol

Lori, that is amazing. Very creative! I can't imagine the water being waist high  We had plumbing put in downstairs for a possible finished basement but after yesterday, I don't think it will ever happen. Which is fine by me. Less to have to worry about. I am totally bummed about the crockpot.

Dale, sorry lunch wasn't that good. Awww, poor Elly. Can't have the pup being cold. But then again, momma needs her rest too ;)

Joey, sending lots of positive thoughts your way. I know you're going stir crazy, hopefully for not much longer :nun:

Thanks. Hey, where there's a will, there's a way. ;) I just thought SURELY we have something around here I can use. :)

    We have a finished basement.
It's got dry wall walls/concrete block behind that, a less expensive, kind of commercial type tile floor.
DH strategically laid out the way he finished the basement, his workshop is under the two bathrooms, the storage room is under the kitchen, so all those pipes are above minimally finished rooms...if a pipe bursts or something. He can also access ALL of the plumbing without tearing anything up to get to it.
Now, if the sump pump were to fail, that's in a cubby hole closet in the finished bedroom...that wouldn't be good.
It would be a mess no matter, but even though it's finished, it's not high end finished...if that makes sense.
The bedroom was finished by the builders, the rest was unfinished when we moved in, DH did the finishing after we moved in on the rest of it.
I guess it's just always a risk with a basement. But yeah, I've seen the aftermath of a few flooded basements, finished and unfinished...it's never pretty. :(
Sorry you're having to deal with all that.

Dog fed, supper made and eaten, cleaned up, changed into pjs and robe ... chilling time ;)

    ...I'm almost there. ;)
Lunch was okay, just nothing to shout about. The way some people talked
I hate that when people just rave about a place, then it's just so-so.

Hi Steve! Thought I grabbed your quote. :)

Welp, just a flyby. Heading off. Need to fold this last load, give Rita her meds and a evening snack, then headed to the sofa to stitch...I'll post the pic of the one I just finished next.

Sweet dreams when y'all go.

Not sure how I'm going to finish it. Maybe a frame, maybe something else. Will figure it out later.
    You’ve been busy!

Time to call it a night. Good night lovely and handsome Lurkers
