Good morning, Lurkers:wub:

Made it through the night. Water is still running. It's 17º with a feels like of 7. I hope to make it in today to work. All the news stations are warning people to stay off the roads because of all the ice. I'll see what it's like shortly. Starting tomorrow, we'll go into a slow warming trend. I look forward to seeing 60's or 70's again. It's not supposed to get that cold down here! It's the coldest morning since 1981, I think they said. You all stay safe out there. I know there are a lot more experienced drivers in icy conditions, but we aren't used to this sort of thing.

I grew up with this kind of stuff, as well as drove in it all over the world. On my way in to work yesterday, some idjit came flying up on my rear end as if it were 80 degrees and dry. We had some words at a light and the idjit flew off the line. 2 miles down the road, he was in the ditch. Karma baby! Had to roll down the window and laugh at him as I drove by.

I have no issues with my skills in this kind of weather, but you're right. Most around here are totally clueless in these kinds of conditions and it's one of the reasons I'd rather stay off the roads. Unfortunately, I can't afford to take time off work, otherwise I'd have also stayed home yesterday.

Good to see you! At least you folks up in northern Texas got spared most of the ice storm situation.

Oh R1, I hate to wish anything like that one anyone, but yeah, can't say it wouldn't have give me a chuckle as well. Karma's a you know what. :D
Was the person driving a 4WD. Around here, those are the ones who seem to think they're invincible....pass 4WD's in the ditches the most.

    LONG day...ready to go soak.
Need to empty and reload the DW first though...not much interesting otherwise.
Happy it's supposed to warm up some tomorrow. :w00t:

    Okay, guess I'll run....BBL. :)

Yes, I guess it's to be expected since it IS wintertime. It just gets harder to take each year that I get older...guess that's why there are so many snowbirds.
Hope you sleep better tonight Joey. :)

    Sweet dreams Dale.

Sweet dreams when y'all go from me too.

Good evening my lovely lurkers.

Have been so busy the last several days just haven't had time to get here....and have been frozen the last 2 days...for the second time in a month, we got snow and ice again!!! That just does not happen here on the Coast...we might get snow once every 4 or 5 years or longer, but twice in a month!

And I was the only one who could get to work today (well the bosses left this morning for Belize, so they dodged the cold), but I ended up getting frozen into the office....literally...the ice on the front entry way had started to melt today, but the sun never really hit it and the temps didn't get above freezing but for about an hour, so what had melted froze back this afternoon, but had spread to cover the whole entry and steps and the concrete parking area...had to call my son to bring me some kitty litter from the house, just so I could get enough traction to get to the car without falling and breaking my neck!

Looking forward to 40s tomorrow so hopefully can get rid of the ice for good...and will be back in the upper 60s by this weekend...I wish Mother Nature would get back on her freaking meds!!! :p:lol:

Hope everyone else is staying warm and safe in all this mess. ;)

I know, this is probably the worst winter for you in years
Well since I moved down here for sure...I did grow up around snow, spent lots of winters in Michigan visiting family, and we did get snow fairly regularly in North Alabama where I grew up, but it's been almost 30 years since I left all that, so yeah I'm not used to that kind of cold anymore! (Was a feels like of 1 out there this morning when I went to work )

Think it's about time to go snuggle into my nice warm, heated bed...sweet dreams to all.

Nope. Stoopid idjit was driving a Nissan Ultima. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Darn tootin'! I'll even hand deliver those meds if it gets warmer weather to stick around.
