Good evening all.
Just catching up.
Sounds like we're all about the same.

Still have a 12 pack of double roll TP, so not worried yet.
Prob have over a thousand Taco Bell napkins between here and the car...
I'd like to hope that will all calm down, I keep thinking the hoarders will surely run out of space to put all this stuff soon.

DH went a couple places last weekend, and through the week, I don't know if he looked for meat, we have fish, a mix of wild boar/reg pork sausage since he just got back from Texas three weeks ago...25 lbs of that. Not a lot of beef, but I think we can find some around here if we needed to.
We've just bought our normal stuff, normal in my standards, I generally buy a couple of the things we use a lot anyway, or things that are on sale, so we're good for a little bit.
I'm going to see if he can find TP, bread, milk, and a couple misc. things tomorrow...nothing major though.

Mostly just TP wiped out here, over by where we work, a lot of stuff is being bought up.
I live in an area with a lot of farmers, a good many put out a garden of some sort, some put out BIG gardens and still can (put up) a lot, so those folks tend to keep stocked up on a lot anyway.
Younger ones prob not as much, but I think it might be more balanced here...but no TP to be found for sure.

We're semi shut down at work. I do some of the payroll stuff, so I can go in to do that, and I think I can work at home some, can go in to retrieve some stuff for that...but, I haven't had direction yet, so we'll see.
We supply some essential places, cities, municipalities, fire dept., water dept., etc.
They said we can still ship parts to customers, working with a skeleton crew, set parts outside if someone needs something...pays by CC over the phone, but...our gates will be locked, you would have to call first to get let it, and we can't sell lawn tractors and stuff like that, can't just keep the doors open.
I don't know, we'll see how it all falls out, some were just told to take sick or vacation days, if they wanted, and file for temp unemployment...which apparently seems to be pretty much open for anyone displaced because of this...but I haven't gone online to look yet, not sure if I'll do that since I may be working some...so that's to be determined.

Holding at 3 in our county, but the state had shut off most testing earlier in the week.
If you have unexplained pneumonia and if you live is a group setting (like a nursing home, and various types of places like that, group homes, etc.)
Not just testing the general public from what it sounded like.

Yep I always have 3-4 folgers in my pantry :) I did a revamp of our shelves and found enough items to make around 30 qts of chili lmao
Chili’s good stuff, might get a little old around quart 20

    Good evening Lori
Sounds like you’re in better shape than a lot of us, small town verses big town.
If we have to start growing our own food we’ll be in a mess, can’t grow much from rocks

DH is still working but it’s having an effect, places shutting down :(

Lori, so glad your business is closed to the public and that you are ok for now in the grocery dept.

Dale, glad your DH is home and brought some stuff if I remember correctly. Should have grabbed quotes. Yeah, I’m thinking we should look online for some starter kits just to be safe.

Coffee is a must these days, glad you have a bit in stock, Joey. I will keep an eye out on the canned veggies. :)

Used up our fresh blueberries today. I will put some of these in the freezer for later. Made Mac and Cheese for dinner to use up the milk before it expired and leftovers will be used for lunch this week.

I have 8 jars of canned tomatoes for chili, won’t make any sauce with it now. There is a local place who makes sauce and distributes it to one of our grocery stores, every other week it’s like bogo. It has the lowest amount of sodium than any other jarred sauce so we always take advantage and are set on sauce. Hope it lasts a long time.

We have some yeast and flour on the way (those cannot be found in stores either ) so I will learn to make my own bread, flatbreads, tortillas.

Tonight we used a free app on our phones/iPads to connect with my mom/dad and bro/sil, similar to FaceTime. That was nice to be able to see and talk to everyone as we can’t do family dinners anymore.

    Small vs. big, yes...sometimes.
I'll see what DH finds out tomorrow. ;) Could be a whole other world since the State shut down.

Your baking is making me want to bake...kind of. LoL's.
I have a bread machine :nun:, my yeast is a little old, not much umph to it, but you can make Irish Soda Bread without yeast, prob more types, but I saw that the other day.
Google to see, but I think you needed baking soda, milk, and lemon juice to sour the milk...or buttermilk...then you won't need lemon.

Here's one that looks interesting too...course, I could go a day or two without any sort of BREADS and be just fine. ;) My jeans would prob fit better.

    5 Ingredient Olive Oil Bread

There's really just a scant few (it sounded like) that will be working, and possibly not an all day thing.
They're really trying to keep the risks down, but keep a little of the necessary stuff done.
I cannot imagine all the mail that's going to pile up at the post offices with so many places closed and no one there.
I think that's going to be insane, and quite possibly something that's not been thought about.

Just found out via Facebook  we are shut (sorry ecf, typo) down until 4/19 unless things improve before then.

I knew NYS was going to issue a stay at home order, but hadn't heard the details.
It sounds so bad in NYC. :(

I think that life as we've known it is going to be changed for a very long time.

@daleron is your husband still in the office supply type of business? That's been considered essential in many states because they supply essential businesses and institutions.
I'm sure it will be much slimmer with everything closing, same as us here.

Those look good! :thumb: I’m not really into baking anymore but who knows if I get bored or hungry for something sweet ;)

    Good morning lurkers

Watching the news now and I’m loving how the surgeon general throws vaping (nothing about smoking) in there as to why people 18-49 are possibly getting covid o_O:mad: How about those are the people hanging out on beaches, doing bar crawls for St Patty’s Day, concerts/festivals and even checking out the Cherry Blossoms.

    Ugh!! Rant over.

Hope you all have a good day!
