I have a load in the dryer I'm going to go grab...the washer and dryer are in a garage like building outside...

Had game night at a neighbor's house, it was really nice.
I have a load in the dryer I'm going to go grab...the washer and dryer are in a garage like building outside...

Good morning all!
We have fabulous neighbors, but only about 30% are full time here.
The rest will all go back north by May.
It's absolutely amazing how quiet it is here though. I suppose that's thanks to the HOA rules.
It's a wonderful community here, folks have been so kind and welcoming, it's really humbling.
Everyone comes from all over the US and several from Canada.
Many are from Michigan.
My direct neighbors, on either side and across the street, (going out about three homes on each side) are from Connecticut, Toledo, Ohio, Kansas City, but not sure if it KS or MO, Long Island, NY, Montana, Michigan, and Canada.
There are several amenities here at the park.
There's a clubhouse where events and meetings are held. They have game nights, line dancing, craft and painting nights on a monthly basis, all sorts of groups that meet.
Then the usual things pool, hot tub, pickleball, bocce ball, fishing, etc.
We haven't ventured out yet to participate in anything really, but DH has joined the men's club.
They meet on Monday mornings and then split into groups and work on different maintenance around the park.
Much like city work crews would.
Large jobs like roads and sewage maintenance are hired out.
Traffic leaving the island from 10am - 6pm is pretty crazy, downside of island living, but there's most basic things are available without leaving.
Winn Dixie, Publix, Dollar General, CVS, Domino's, loads of local restaurants and bars, marinas and bait shops,animal clinic, two thrift stores, Ace Hardware, landscape places, 5 fire departments.
There are also several county parks/and public spaces with walking trails, and piers.
So much wildlife to watch too.
So, lots to explore here.
Hospitals, Doctors, dentists, etc. require going to Cape Coral or Ft. Myers.
Big name shopping like Walmart, Target, Lowes/Home Depot, and shopping malls are off island as well, but it's a busy area, there's everything...just all spread out and crazy traffic.
The weather has been pretty fabulous.
The coldest we've had was right about freezing, but that was only for a few hours overnight.
Yesterday was possibly the warmest, I think it was 89.
We'll have hurricane seasons to deal with, and hot humid summers, we'll deal with mosquitoes and no seeums, but of course, there are trade offs everywhere.
Okay, that's about all for now.
I made the mistake of trying to write this on my phone, I've had at least 5,000 pop up ads to close, absolutely miserable.

I'm also (really) ready to get back to work and a "normal" routine.
Don't get me wrong, the last 60 days, not working, have been nice...but, mentally I'm not ready to retire, and besides, I'm way too young to even think about it.

Aussie sheperd it doesn't belong to me it is Dana's dog and I am getting close to kicking them both out!!!!

Snowed here last night it quickly turned the roads into a icy mess glad I left early. It will be messy later, luckily I have off for 3 days
