Hi Dale, Sara, Rat!

I haven't been for a visit in your Lovely thread in a bit... figgered it's time... Yo Wassup!

{Addendum (yes, I know they're usually at the End). This post got longer than I planned... so that Warning goes here... but that's Cool. :D}

Alright... Spill the beans Ladies... give me some titles and authors. I'm always down for wolf shifters, the superNatural and vampires. Duh! :p

wolf shifters
Hmmm... cool...

a lot of supernatural stuff
Ok... that's up my ally...

prefer vampires
Right on... Twilight books?

Ummm... yeah... books... We love getting lost in the stories, don't we???

I can't imagine a life without books! o_O And I mean Real Books... none of those ebook thingys. I like the feel of a hardcover and paper and the smell of a book. Ebooks... yeah ok, they're cool, just not my Main preference.

So ok... I just finished reading all the Harry Potter books... for the billionth time. And will reread them again and again.

Also finished Jonathan Livingston Seagull for the trillionth time, it's a quick read, but there is a lifetime of wisdom in those 127 pages. “The gull sees farthest who flies highest.” I have to say it's still one of my most favorite books. Bought the book when it came out. Saw the movie the day it was released (23 Oct 1973) and saw it more times than I'll ever admit to (have the VHS, DVD and digital copy ).

I love all of Richard Bach's books.

I really enjoyed watching the series 'A Discovery of Witches'. It was a fantasy series based on the similarly named novel of the 'All Souls' trilogy written by Deborah Harkness.

Of course... like all the shows I love the most... they got cancelled. What a bunch of :censored: jerks! It had witches, vampires... supernatural stuffs... it had everything I loved!

And it even had Love!!! And like, ya know... a good story has to have Love. ;)

So yeah... now I'm gonna buy the books. Besides, from what I've read and like most books and then series or movies... the books blow away the series and movies.

Ummm... Dale, me thinks you have some book titles to share. :p
Give me time and I’ll find the authors I’ve been reading lately;)

Oh yeah, I love Sci-Fi too. :thumb:
‘I love to watch sci-fi but have a hard time reading it for some reason :?:

‘And it’s really great to see you here  I thought we might have offended you or something.

    I appreciate you!

    I haven't read a sci-fi book in a good long while.

I think some sci-fi books are, IDK... maybe difficult to follow or just boring to read. And I also prefer watching sci-fi.

‘And it’s really great to see you here  I thought we might have offended you or something.
No, no, no... no one here offended me. Y'all could never! ;)

I'm like a penny that keeps getting lost and then <POOF> is all of a sudden right there, or here, or where ever. Lost but never lost! :D

    Good morning lurkers

Yep, it’s that early! We have to have kiddo to the school by 5. His grade is taking a day trip to Cedar Point. I guess the norm these days…well pre-covid…was a weekend trip to Washington. Start fundraising for that in 6th grade. Well we had one fundraiser and then the pandemic happened and now, no more trips to Washington. Uggg, I’m so stressed. He’s never been away from both of us in another state ever. I will be ok, I think

I loved Twilight when it first hit the scene. Read all the books when I was pregnant with kiddo. Super stoked for the movies and was as per usual, totally let down  Edward was decent looking but I was more interested in Bella’s Dad  That guy is total yum! Acting/makeup was embarrassing.

Unfortunately I’ve lost my library card and it’s been many years since having stepped foot in one. When I was a teen, I would walk to the one my town and come home with a stack of novels. First time I did that the librarian was like, “you know those have to be back in x amount of days, right?” Me, “no problem” I could read a book in an hour or two. My books never came back late, only exchanged for a new stack.

Sad to say most books these days were on my kindle and then on my phone/ipad as my kindle died and I have the kindle app. I also discovered a fanfic app and have been enjoying that as well. But agree 100% about the smell of books. I just read a non supernatural paperback, The Slow Way Back by Judy Goldberg and throughly enjoyed it.

    Good morning Sara
Hope kiddo has a fantastic trip and you’ll be just fine ;)

‘I’ve never seen any of the twilight movies nor read the books, DD was a fan at one time. Like I said I’m new to this genre .... well I’ve been reading it about a year. I ran out of my preferred type of books some time ago  Apparently I read faster than they write ;)
My absolute favorite genre is medical thrillers which are hard to find for some reason.

‘You should get yourself a new library card! Our library has a sale room and you can buy books for anywhere from .25 to a couple of dollars. Most of them look brand new.

I have kindles, paper backs and the kindle app on my tablet  Both bathrooms have something to read in them at all times, then there’s what I read at the table while eating ... DH prefers watching tv while he eats. Then there’s what I read in bed and finally the main tablet I use throughout the day

I think part of my problem is the made up words and they are generally just difficult for me to follow the plot. I have read a few that were interesting enough.

    Thank you!!!
    You’re welcome ;)

    Good evening lurkers

Drop off went better than I thought it would  I for sure thought I’d be sobbing. It probably helped that the tour busses weren’t there yet.

Dh and I got to go to dinner alone and spend some time together. It was fun. The restaurant was pretty empty which I was sorta surprised at being it’s Friday night.

Definitely need to look into another lib card. There is a huge one right next to where I work.

Sure wish you lived closer as I purchased the complete series of Twilight, would lend them to you in a heart beat. I also enjoy V.C. Andrews and Nora Roberts but those aren’t supernatural lol.

Hey Sara, hope your Friday was good :)
Well,if you lived close by I’d give your books a try.
Nora Roberts eh? Have you read any of J .D. Robbs stuff? That’s Nora but a completely different type of books. I’ve read a bunch of them.

You said it was a day trip right? So he’ll be home tonight.

My aunt said her tablet was gone so I brought it home last night. Just her charger was shot. I hooked it up and could move the cord and it would connect and disconnect. Back to 100% this morning. I gave her one of my old chargers so she is back in business. heehee

Had to walk with the umbrella today. I guess you would say I was "Reading in the Rain" (Gene Kelly song). Once again after I got finished, it stopped and the sun came out.

That's okay. I am used to it.

I have a good friend that starts radiation next week for Stage 5 prostate cancer. Another friend has a catheter ablation on his heart on the 23rd. Dad stays in Afib all the time now. All in all, I think I'm doing darn good. Sometimes I get so aggravated at things that I forget to be grateful. I really am grateful.

Sara, so glad it went better than you expected and that you had a nice dinner. You deserve it.

Good morning Dale and lurkers

Yes, I believe I may have read some J.D. Robb. The name is very familiar. But nothing recently.

Keeping your family/friends in my thoughts, Rat2.

Kiddo arrived at the school just before 1am in good condition with minor sunburn and sore feet/legs. I was super excited to see him and well…he was a tired and hungry teen giving incoherent, inaudible at times, one word answers

This morning he was in a better mood and said it was fun, he’d like to go back which I am stoked for. Love roller coasters and would definitely be up to experiencing it with him.

Hope you all have a lovely day!!
