ME TOO! I am nowhere close to getting this house ready but so far, I have not found anything thing that I am particularly attached to. It is just stuff to me. I would honestly like to get rid of everything and only have what I need today. I do not want to be like my parents and save everything and the box it came in.
It was a nice weekend but the only time I left the house was to go with my cousin and aunt to eat Pizza. Terry stayed home and said he was cleaning up. He sent me a video of what he was talking about and I am glad he is working on it. heehee Just messy, not filthy. He still found time to call both nights and talk for a long time. Tonight he was making deviled eggs and my mouth was just a watering.
Like I have told y'all, we have been friends for as long as I was married. He lived across the street from me. But now, we are really getting to know each other even better. I love listening to his stories. He has even opened up a little bit and started telling me about how it was in Vietnam. He was there for 13 months. Very interesting to listen to him talk. He is so down to earth and just a good man. It may never go anywhere, who knows, but I am glad to have him as a friend.
Found some Christmas lights and after working on the for a long time getting them unknotted, I decorated the hearth. In the picture it looks pink (which I think looks good) but it is really a red light bulb and white string lights. I think it looks sort of festive. No one but me and Terry will see it but even if he was not coming over, it would still make me happy just to be able to celebrate something.
I received stuff from my lawyer yesterday. I looked at it today and I am officially an executor. I was instructed to go open the estate checking account tomorrow and go to the license place and take dad's name off the car title. Sort of sad but it has to be done. Seems kind of funny that my name has been on a car title since 2009 and I have never driven it. I am going to start though.
It is hard for me to believe Christmas is here this week. I am kind of excited this year. I got Terry's drone delivered today. His grandson told me to go ahead and open it so I could charge the battery for it. He has two absolutely beautiful grandchildren. Ford, the one that is helping me received a new heart when he turned 16 and he is 18 now and so healthy. He has had several operations over the years since he was a baby. I cannot imagine how his mom has handled everything that has been thrown at her. Love and faith got them through it all.
Well, I am tired and I hope we ALL get a beautiful nights rest. Thank you for listening to me ramble on.

Christmas at Grandpa’s was very nice. I ate way too much and reminisced about Christmas’s past. Hard to believe my cousins and I are grown, some with children of our own. Boy did that make me feel old
Today is my wrapping day and last day of my long weekend. 4 day work week and then I’m off til next year.

Thank you. I really don't know much about fireplaces. This one has only had 1 fire in it since the house was built in 1969. When my ex and I built our house, it was on some land that his grandmother had given us that had never been cleaned up. We cleared the land. Dad would come over some but help but it was a job. I have never worked so hard in my life. After breaking my back clearing the land, I never wanted to see another log again as long as I lived, and had them remove the fireplace in the house we built.
But I will admit, a fireplace is a beautiful thing. I guess that is the romantic in me too. I found a little log in the closet that is supposed to burn for a long time. I don't know if it is still good and I am not sure I should have a fire. Someone else would have to tell me if the flue is open or not. I wouldn't know. I shouldn't have to have it cleaned since there should not be much soot build-up from 1 fire. On my list of things to ponder.
I am thankful that you don't mind reading about all my shenanigans. I am definitely a work in progress with a lot of things I need to learn. Better late than never.

Fireplaces are awesome in theory. Dh’s house had a wood burning one. We had wood delivered and it was a pita to get it stacked. New house has a propane insert. Both get too hot for comfort and obviously only heat the space your in. Meh! Not worth it to me. I’d rather have a campfire outside
All presents wrapped. Round roast with new potatoes and steamed broccoli for dinner. I do not want to go back tomorrow. Might take a personal day. We’ll see when the alarm goes off.

Had a busy day and accomplished all that I wanted to do today. Already got my list for tomorrow's gotta do's.
Cindy (my ex-neighbor and friend) came over and gave me a long fluffy robe for Christmas. I told her I was going to get one to take to the coast so she went ahead a gave it to me so I wouldn't buy one. She is so good to me.
Talked on the phone but Terry did not come over. That is okay because I am sort of tired. Was at the bank at nine and then did all my errands. I even made it to the gym by 4:30. There were more people there but still quiet enough to enjoy the workout.
Filled up the Honda before I came home to fixed my salad. I am trying to be so good because I know Christmas, I will NOT be following a healthy food regimen.
The microwave EggPod did a beautiful job fixing my boiled eggs. It only does 4 at a time and takes 9 minutes. After you finish microwaving them, you shake the container and I must say the shells came off quite easily and by themselves. I love As Seen on TV products.
Went back to my fav little thrist store. I was hoping to get the comforter I saw there a couple days ago. It was already gone (sniff, sniff) but I did find one gym shirt and one black going out-to-eat shirt. heehee I LOVE that place. Spent another $7 but hey, that's a good deal. At least I did not buy more shoes.

That is what I remember about the one fire that they had. The den was like an inferno and as soon as you went through the door you got a chill. Probably just be easier to put a live fire wallpaper on my tablet and sit it on the coffee table. heehee

I seriously contemplated it but then I watched the weather this morning
They are talking a huge storm Friday with lake effect snow. Winds creating blizzard conditions 50, 60 and even 70 mph gusts. This would affect my commute home. That personal day might be better spent at the end of the week.

It’s happening to me too, this site loads really slow for me and sometimes doesn’t complete the post.
Sorry you’ll be dealing with the storm, think we’ll just be cold down here. Forecast says a high of 22 Friday with an overnight low of 5 . In the mid 50’s today. If it stays like they say at least we won’t be sweating Christmas Day
