Good to see you too!!
Congratulations on the new dog!!! How old is Paco?
Is Elly still with you? :nun:

I don't know if I've been here since, or if I mentioned it before, but yes, it had been a dream for a long time.
Elly passed away about 3 years ago, I cried a lot and took a long time to be ready for another dog.
‘Paco is around 2 to 2 and a half years old, he’s a rescue that couldn’t fit into the home he went to so he was given to us. He’s adjusted to us quite well and we’re happy to have the little stinker. ;)

I’m glad you fulfilled your dream while you’re young enough to enjoy it :)

Hey Sara ;) Wonderful to see Lori isn’t it :)

I just finished my supper, we just ate sandwiches when we got hungry.

Hey stranger! So glad you are doing good despite the bumps. Yeeesh, I bet it is hot down there. Lol.

Not too much happening here. Kiddo just finished 9th grade. Lucy is still keeping us entertained when we aren’t at soccer ;)

Hi Sara!! 9th grade??!!!! Wow, it has been awhile since I've been around!!
    Awwww, I remember Lucy too!!

Elly must have passed not long after Rita. I couldn't stand the house so empty (not counting DH), I cried for 9 days and adopted another from the same rescue that we'd gotten her from.
I wasn't really ready either, but I thought it would be a good way to keep my mind busy, and helping another that needed a home, so I went ahead and did it. DH was going to be gone for 10 days, so I wanted company.
So glad Paco is working out!!

Yes, that was DH's point...to do it while we were young enough to enjoy it.
We actually live in a 55+ community, and it's sometimes hilarious, but we have the best neighbors, and have made really good friends here. We're all even much closer after we've gone through all that we have since Ian.

Have a good evening all, I'll try to pop by more often.

We have different backyard wildlife here than we did in Illinois.
This is from last summer... he's a lot bigger now. Under the neighbor's dock if you didn't see right away.
Oh my! Not sure I’d like that very much

So your dog, he/she likes your DH?

You can barely see the tip of his tail, far left in the picture.
This was taken the end of April.
He's really big. I fear his days are numbered.
When they get really big, they tell me that someone usually calls for a nuisance removal.
Sad, because if you're respectful, keep your distance, practice situational awareness, and DON'T feed them, they really mind their own business.
    Ignore the foam (trash) floating.
Whenever it gets windy, more blows in from who knows where.
    Remnants of Ian.

    That’s sad, you’d think they’d just rehome it. :(

I think he was in Malaysia.
At the time, his GF was from there and he went back there with her...if memory serves...I could be wrong.
I don't know if it was going to be a permanent move though.

I don't get close to the gators. I'm very alert and watch for any, but they are awesome creatures to see.
Dogs should always be leashed, and not taken to the edge of the water.
Gators can be submerged in pretty much any water, anywhere around here.

    @daleron
Sometimes they do re-home them, but most often they don't.
    That's what I've been told.
They're territorial, and when they take one out, another comes in to take it's place.
That's how this one came in.
Last year a big one was removed.
It had taken a fancy to laying in someone's yard and the woman's husband has dementia.
He was hard enough to keep up with without worrying if the gator was in the yard.
It's sad because the gators were here first, but this is how it goes here.

    Good evening ladies

Oh wow, Malaysia, that would be cool to see in person. In that case, maybe it’s a good thing they do remove them. I can’t imagine the constant worry of my husband accidentally wandering out there. :(

Never did get the car washed, so I thought I’d at least hose it off as we didn’t get the rain we were supposed to. Of course it starts to come down pretty good while I’m out there so I figured I’d let nature do it’s thing. It stopped when I came in :sneaky: hahaha that’s what I get for not having enough hours in the day ;)

Well I hope you both had a lovely day!! Time to wind down and mentally prepare for tomorrow :w00t: sweet dreams!!
