Yum Dale, that does sound really good. Enjoy your weekend with Bela :) ouchie!! Sorry for those temps.

We had takeout, no time to cook and I need fridge space for tomorrow.

I got all I cared to do done for tonight. Will get up tomorrow to finish. Gonna go read and relax my mind for a bit. Sweet dreams
Guess you’re planning a get together this weekend huh ?

    Good night Sara

If I don't go home soon, my size 4 shorts are not going to fit anymore. I have eaten all day. Paula and Gary think I've lost too much weight so they have been feeding me all day long.

BLT sandwich for breakfast and cinnamon buns. For supper it was meatloaf (which Paula makes the most delicious I've had) mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, tomatoes and cucumbers in apple cider vinegar, mac&cheese, and rolls. I was stuffed. I told everyone not to stand in front of me because I am not sure how well my button is attached.

She is fixing pancakes for breakfast tomorrow and Gary is grilling out baby back ribs for supper and fried green tomatoes. I have always wanted to try them.
Yep, I need to go home soon. (and get to the gym)

Paula's 3 dogs have welcomed me into the family. They came and got me to take them out this morning. She has a big queen size blow-up bed but I told her I just wanted to sleep on the couch like I did last time I was here. I have one dog laying on my feet (which btw is nice and warm) and one little dog snoring beside me right now. The big dog is in the recliner. Sure makes me miss my little dogs. I am sure one day I will slow down enough to get another dog. They are quite comforting.

The new addition around here is Thelma and Louise (cute little goats) and the huge rooster. Gary has 17 chickens. He forgot to get the eggs the day before so yesterday, he brought in 28 eggs. When I get to where I'm going, I think I would like to have a few since I eat so many eggs.

He uses the chicken poop for fertilizer and you would not believe how big his tomato plants are. I cannot wait to taste the fried green tomatoes. I'll try not to think of the fertilizer.

    Good morning all.
I've been keeping up, but not posting.
I rarely use the laptop anymore and posting on my phone is not enjoyable.

I love reading about your daily activities R2, I wish I had your energy!

Dale, I just love how supportive you are, you are so kind!
Sorry your weather has been so hot and stormy!
Love all your dinner menus, especially the beef roast. Now I think I need to make one.

Sara, (Joey and Fran) I can't imagine living with that smoke, that has to be just awful! You would think that the US and Canada could join forces and get those fires put out or tamped down.
BIL in Michigan said they heard on the news that the smoke is forecast to last until the snow flies.

Fran I can't imagine DD dealing with the ongoing blood infection, especially with no better answers than the Drs can offer.

It's been a quiet week here in SWFL.
Typical hot daytime temps, but evenings aren't too bad. We've had a bit of rain this week which helps to bring temps down for awhile.
I still rather this weather than what we had...as long as their is AC.

It was exciting to hear the Lee County Mosquito Control helicopter last night.
    Always a welcome sound! LoL
They post on social media where they are going to be spraying by truck and air.
Hopefully they keep after it, it really helps.

I have a four day weekend, woot, woot!!
Monday won't be paid, but still glad to have the consecutive days off.

DH's sister and her husband were here last weekend for a quick trip.
We ate out a couple times, and went out on the boat last Saturday.
It was dreadfully hot, but ok if you were moving.

DH went offshore fishing (Monday) with a buddy that lives here in the park.
He caught a nice red grouper and a few other kinds.
They went again yesterday and the sharks got everything before they could get anything to the boat.

Guess I better get this posted before I lose it (LoL).

I always remember how Welsh loved my MEGA posts!:lol::lol:

@JoeyC - TOTALLY meant to comment on your $22 lunch...
We have NO fast food on Pine Island.
We had Dominos, but it didn't reopen after Ian.
Years ago, there was Subway, and Dairy Queen, but they've been closed for years.
We have lots of restaurants, food trucks, and bars that serve food...burgers here are $12 - $15 if you get sidrs, and no where have I seen less than 12 for just a burger.
$22 for lunch at A&W is totally outrageous. That stinks!!

Good morning ladies and any gents lurking

Haha, Dale, you are right. The prep is almost worth it. ;) Kidding, I adore my family but thankful when things quiet down. “Arrive at 1, eat at 4, get out by 5, vape in hand at 5:01 (closet vaper around dh’s family), feet up by 5:30 :lol::lol:

Awwww, Rat2 super sweet to be surrounded by pups. We’ve talked about getting some chickens, but I don’t think I could do it, will support the local farmers instead.

Thanks, Lori. I feel horrible for all those that have lost their homes, wildlife etc. I hadn’t heard that about the smoke til winter. :( It’s not been a nice summer so far. Smoke and rain keeping temps down, pool has yet to reach 80 on it’s own and the particles are definitely affecting the chemistry. We’ve been in once.

    Good morning everyone

I have the weekend off and rain is in the forecast both days :nah: Oh well we need it everything is so dry here. Hope the speedway is still going to do a firework show this weekend, it will be the last shows they will do. The Rockford speedway property was sold a few months ago by the kids after the mother past away. I think they are going to finish the race schedule for this year and that will be it. Not sure what is going to be built after they knock it down.

No other plans really except to try to grill up some food for us. I have steaks, ribs and a brisket sitting in the fridge, I need to get some side dishes from the store later.

Took Christina to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and dropped $90 on food plus a $20 tip. Crazy how prices are going up on everything. There is no relief in site at all. I am thankful I have a decent paying job to be able to afford doing anything.

@LoriP1702 maybe if you still have that other house next year I can take a trip down there and go fishing with you and hubby. Would love to catch some big fish :w00t:

Prices are absolutely ridiculous! That’s crazy! We were supposed to have rain both days too, so far none and the sun is in and out of hiding. Your mains sound delish, Joey. Fingers crossed you get to see the fireworks.

Yikes, Dale. Guessing it didn’t come down much overnight. We’re doing the get together today since it’s a regular weekend for me.

Jealous of your long weekend, Lori. I wish the holiday fell on the weekend but alas…not this year. So a day off on Tuesday.

Oh wow, Dale. :( Chinese is a good choice when it’s so hot!

Think it went well, just finished picking up and getting the dishwasher started. Hopefully I sleep good tonight!
I hope you sleep good tonight too and chill tomorrow !

Good night Sara and lurking Joey

‘’Lols Sara, gathering today or tomorrow?
No, I wouldn't enjoy fishing with the sharks either!

Prices are up on everything, and I agree, no end in sight.

LoL, I have no idea the plan for across the street.
This area is well known for great fishing.
Tarpon season is insane down here.
He doesn't even go into the passes when they're clogged with boats.
The big ones like he caught the beginning of the week are hit and miss.

Don't discount the area closer to where you are.
It's absolutely beautiful in WI, and Minnesota, and great fishing there too.

Did you get to fish much when you lived in NY?

I think there's a good lake not far from you if you want to fish on your days off.
People from S. Illinois I know used to go.
Let me find out which one.

I need to get new fishing gear, I have not fished in a long time. I’m thinking of getting a small boat. I used to go fishing on the charter boats from Brooklyn that went to Long Island or New Jersey.

Good morning everyone. I have been up a couple of times tonight. One of those nights. I was tired because Paula and I went shopping. Boy, it takes it out of you.

She took me to a new place called PopShelf. It was a neat little place. I was googling it and found out there is one close to me and I did not even know it. Sheesh! Been so long since I have gotten out that I could go sightseeing just where I live.

No it is not enjoyable. The only reason I am posting while I am away from home is because I packed my laptop. I used to post on Tap-a-talk or something like that but I can't find ecf on there anymore. I tried on just the phone browser and it did all kinds of crazy things to me. Talk about frustrating. I wish there was an app like Twitter on my phone. That would be easier.

I'm sure my energy will slow down soon. After taking care of Dad for so many years it was like someone left the lock of the cage door and I have been running like a crazy woman since he passed. It has been exciting since I have always been such a homebody.
