In your nightmares
Good morning everyone

Knee is healing slowly, getting better though.

Smallest turkey available was a 15lb bird. I invited a couple of people over for tomorrow but they are not feeling well. So will be just my daughter and I with all that turkey

ooof, just now sitting down and it's pretty much time for bed  Folks will be here bright and early to get the bird in the oven and believe it or not, I still have a few more things to do  before all the actual cooking. geez, where did the time go.

omgosh Dale, will it be thawed in time? haha never liked the Police Academy franchise either

awww, Joey. I'm sorry your guests aren't feeling well. But hey, on the brighter side of things, a modified quote, compliments of A Christmas story: Just think of all the turkey sandwiches, turkey salad, turkey gravy, turkey hash, Turkey A La King, or gallons of turkey soup you get to have! Love that movie ;)

    Sweet dreams lurkers

Oh great. There was a Terminator 3. It is okay. I'm tired and ready for bed.

It was a productive day around here. Started going through stuff in the garage. Dad kept everything. I did not know what half the stuff was but thank goodness, Ken did. He can keep whatever he thinks we will use. We loaded the back of his truck up with junk and I have a huge stack of metal to sell. He said it would be a good idea to clean the garage out to make room for the boxes of the stuff I want to keep. I guess he is right.

I had another first today. We went to the dump. $12 to drop it off. As soon as we started throwing it off the truck, a huge bulldozer came and took it off. It did not smell as bad as I imagined. It was wonderful getting rid of it. But there is so much more to go through. Dad had every tool imaginable. Since Ken lost everything he had in the flood, I think he is happy to get some of the stuff back. That is if we stay together.

    Who knows?

My aunt called and said she was going to make the deviled eggs and I was grateful. heehee One less thing for me to do since I was tired from dumping.

I did get the broccoli salad made and also made a Junk Yard Salad. Simple recipe and I like it. Ken was a little leary of the broccoli salad but after he tasted it, he ate part of my bowl so he must have liked it.

The dump was close to a restaurant we went to last week. They serve breakfast all day long. I had another first. I have never had eggs benedict. It was ok but I doubt I get it again. The hashbrowns and coffee were great. It is a little pricey. $30 for two breakfast meals. Ken had corn beef hash and eggs and I liked it. I had never eaten corn beef. I think that is what my mom used to eat on a Reuben sandwich. Not sure.

Well, Thanksgiving is today and I really do have a lot to be thankful for. I have to include y'all in my many blessings. Y'all are the best.

I hope everyone has a wonderful turkey day.

Good morning Rat2, Sara and Joey  Happy Thanksgiving y’all, I hope you all have a wonderful day. I’ll be doing some prep work today myself.
‘Sara I’m not sure about the turkey, going to leave it out of the refrigerator a few hours today and tomorrow hoping that will help.

    Good evening lurkers

Love, love, love Green Bean Casserole! mmm, even better the next day. I love that C helped you with dinner, Joey. We ran out of stuffing :( Good thing I have a few boxes of stove top hanging around. Dishes are done, and everything is put away. Ready to put up Christmas

Sending lots of thawing vibes your way, Dale. I'm whooped. Been up since 4 and on my feet most of the day, but it was so nice to spend time with family. Sweet dreams everyone

It was a nice family gathering and I ate waaaaaay too much. It was so good. I have never seen Ken eat so much so I guess he enjoyed it also. He talked with everyone and fit right in. There were only 8 adults, a little girl, and 1 big dog.

In all honesty, I had a nice time but it would have also been nice to have fixed Ken a dinner for just us since it was our first Thanksgiving. What can I say? I'm a romantic.

I am glad everyone had a good day. For me, it is now time to get back to eating the way I used to and get off what I have gained since Ken moved in. I think next week, I am going to go back to the gym too. I think that might be some of my problems.

    Enjoy the leftovers!

Good afternoon from the couch with a lap blanket over my legs, bulldog snoring next to me and a Hallmark movie on. Have yet to bring up the tree.

Yes, definitely should be called Black Month. lol Ordered a couple gifts. Rakuten has 15% cash back for some of the stores I shop at, so that's nice. Had a turkey sandwich for lunch with some chocolate chip cookies. A local family owned market had a sale on chicken breasts. 40lbs for $50, so I had put my name on the list and DH picked it up this morning. We divided that up and got it in the freezer. Our first time going there and Dh was very impressed, so we will add that to our list of places to shop.

Now I'm ready for a nap lol

Good evening Rat2 and Sara

Glad you had a good time with family Rat2 and best of luck getting back on your eating regiment.

Sounds like a great deal on your chicken Sara

Turkey is thawed and in the bag. Guess I’m going to be cook’ing everything tomorrow, just not up to it tonight. Gonna have to start early to get everything done even using two ovens.

That's great news on the turkey, Dale. Sounds like you had a long day. :(

Well, we got the tree up. Took forever to fluff and then string the lights. Now I know why I've always had a prelit tree. Ornaments and other decorations will have to wait til tomorrow. Think this is the first year, I didn't get the decorating done today. Oh well.

    Sweet dreams

Had a good day. My phone would not connect to the charging cable. I blew it out thinking something was in there. I called a place that fixes electronics and the guy was so nice. Told me to bring it in and ask for him. It was something in the plug that I did not see. I was so thankful that it was not the phone. When I asked how much I owed him, he said nothing to just have a good day. I was happy and gave him a $10 tip. Hope it bought part of his lunch.

It was a bit cool but we took a ride on the bike. Just around town. To cool for the highway with what I was wearing. He had me home before the sun went down because he knew I was chilly.

My aunt had given me the drippings from where she cooked the turkey. I added chicken and more broth. Used biscuits to make the dumplings and added 2 cans of mixed veggies. It was a big hit. Ken ate two bowls and another one while we were watching the second movie. It was a double feature night.

My days are all messed up. It did not seem like Friday to me. Not sure what kind of day it seemed like though. It is the weekend again. I have no plans. That's a good thing.

Have a great day all.

Good morning Rat2 and lurkers

So glad he was able to fix your phone, Rat2. Mmm chicken and dumplings. Planning on making turkey and dumplings, maybe tomorrow so people can have their fill of turkey sandwiches.

Too early for my liking but kiddo is going hunting with his papa. Think my brother will be there too.

Dale, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family! May your plates be filled to the brim, cups over flowing and your hearts full of love!

    Have a great day everyone!
