Good morning Rat2 and Sara.
‘Too early for me too Sara but here I am. Hope your DS gets his buck :)

Don’t you love an easy fix Rat2? That was nice of you to tip the guy :)

Got the ham in the oven at 5 , it’s small so won’t take long then it’ll be the turkey’s turn. Works out good, now I can dedicate the little oven to other dishes.

No, no living creature for him. He goes just to be with his papa. He doesn’t have a license yet. But I think it’s awesome he wants to go, gets him away from electronics for a bit. I don’t doubt my stepdad lets him get a shot in though. I don’t ask. Kiddo knows gun safety.

Sounds like a good feast!! Enjoy!!

Glad hunters do not live in my neighborhood. I am feeding 5 deer who don't run off when Ken barks at them and shines the flashlight in their eyes.

They just look at him like he's cray cray.

Not sure what is on the agenda today. I am in the mood to organize or throw stuff away. Might go through the electronics closet. Dad has every cell phone he ever bought and the box they came in. You can use old ones as a camera or radio. Games also I suppose. I think I will try to find a place that recycles them.

Only supposed to get up to 47 today so it is probably too cool to take the bike out. Or I could put on a bunch of layers and look like the Michelin woman.

Ken has chaps. I need to get me some because leather is wonderful on a bike. I found that out the other night when I wore Dad's leather jacket he wore on his Harley. Can you believe I wore a jacket that was 70-some years old? It is still in fantastic shape. A bit stiff for my liking and the arms are long enough for an orangutan.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

About a month ago, I stopped making Ken's breakfast because I do not eat breakfast. He was very understanding and had no problem with fixing his own. He still asks every morning if I want an egg sandwich or whatever he is fixing.

My cousin sent home a baggie of the ham she fixed and Ken said last night it would make a good omelet. So what did I do this morning? Of course, I fixed him one. I had onion, tomato, green pepper and cheese.

I tell you, I am dazzling the boy with my cooking skills.

Dumplings and macaroons last night and a big omelet this morning. heehee He was very appreciative. I told him I might do that sometimes on the weekend. I broke down and ate a couple of bites of his because it was so big. I hate to toot my own horn but it was really good.

It is 43 with a feels-like temp of 35. The wind sure is making it seem a lot cooler. I froze when I went out with him so he could smoke. I've already warned him that when it got really cool, I would not be keeping him company out there. I'll stay where it is warm.

Okay, I'm going to try to not post (unless something spectacular happens) and let y'all enjoy your Saturday.

That sounds really good, Rat2. I was making an egg burrito with gouda and mushrooms for breakfast but now I'm working on a huge container of oatmeal. I definitely don't miss the days of going outside to smoke. Brrr!! I never smoked in the house or the car if I had passengers.

Tree is partially decorated and I've put up the window lights and a few other things. I've decided to go minimal this year. Thinking we should downsize the 5 Christmas totes.

Good evening Rat2 and Sara

Was a terribly busy day today but was nice to have all the family together for a meal.

Do you have an Office Depot in town Rat2? Pretty sure they recycle electronics.

I minimized Christmas years ago Sara  Just not into it like I used to be.

So glad you all got together and had a lovely day! I agree, always so busy though.

Dh loves to pick up decor for allllllll the holidays. He usually gets things after the fact when it's marked down. I used to put everything up every year until last year. Gets to be too much and it's a pain taking it down after.

Breakfast for dinner. Waffles with bananas, caramel and whipped cream. Blackberries and hash browns too!

Gonna watch a movie and get to bed early. Sweet dreams

Thank you and yes we do have those here. I will check it out.

I used to go crazy when the kids were little. When they lost interest in it, so did I. Last year was the first year I had put up anything and it was minimal.

I may still decorate a little bit this year since Ken is here. I had told him we could spend Thanksgiving or Christmas with his family but not both. He told his daughter that I wanted to be home but we would get up there through the holidays. I have since changed my mind because his father is not in the greatest of health and I understand that he needs to spend as many holidays with his dad as he can. If Ken is still around next year, I will try doing just one holiday with each family again.

Ken said he just wanted to stay home last night so I told him it was Saturday night and I was not. I went to my aunt's and he stayed home watching TV.

My cousin from South Carolina is going back today so it was good that went down there to see him. It did not hurt that I knew they had cheesecake.
    1laugh.gif
Ended up eating pizza with them too. Anyway, I had a nice visit with my aunt and 3 cousins.

The coffee is good this morning. Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.

    Good morning Rat2

Cheesecake and pizza, I’m envious:lol: Glad you had a nice visit before your cousin goes back.

Yep, I did 98% of the before cleaning and my parents helped me cook. Barely spoke with my inlaws and they all left shortly after eating. It was a total whirlwind.

    Have a great day!!

I have always been jealous of people who had big family gatherings because my family never did. Until 4 years ago when my uncle died, I had never spent time with any family other than my parents and sister. Sort of sad but it is what it is.

I am glad that I like Ken's family. Me and his daughter got along beautifully and I enjoyed being around her. It probably also helped because she thought I was the best thing that had ever happened to her dad. I am not sure Ken would agree. heehee He has done pretty well accepting my "unique" ways.

    Good evening lurkers

Turkey and Dumplings for dinner. Used up the carrots/celery from the crudité, swapped out the peas with the last of the corn and used 4 cups of turkey. Mom and dad stayed for dinner and loved it so much they took the rest of it home. Woot!! I love when food is not wasted.

Hope everyone had a great day! I'm ready for my jammies and a movie.

‘I had a salad then ruined it it by having a piece of pecan pie

Gonna be freezing here in the morning and I now have the Sunday blues like the rest of you workers ;). Hope Randy gets tired of me pretty quick like usual cause I don’t enjoy working at the shop like I used to. Sad.

Worked in the garage again today and have another truckload for the dump. I love getting rid of stuff.

Actually went out of a date tonight. Just Ken and I went to Bonbon's and had their ribs. They are so darn tasty. We split them and still brought half of them home.

We stopped by a local bar but there was no band and hardly anyone there. Guess everyone is still at home eating leftovers or something. Came home and watched movies which was fine with me. It started raining as soon as we got home. They were calling for 0% chance. Oh well. I am full and ready for bed. I cannot believe he is watching Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles. It is not too bad actually. I just am not sure I can stay awake to finish it.

Hope Monday is over quickly. Hugs.

    Good morning lurkers

I was actually looking forward to going back to work today  that is until the alarm went off and now I’d rather roll over and go back to sleep. haven’t been feeling the greatest the last 4 days and I know my carb heavy diet was to blame. I will have to remember this for my Christmas vacation and do better. Think I’ll wait a day or two before I step on the scale.

Hope your day goes quickly, Dale. Sorry you aren’t liking it too much!
