I have been complaining that Perry and I do not have real dates like I thought dating should be. We sort of just started acting like married folk. I am not saying that is a bad thing because I am pretty darn content but anywho, he was supposed to take me on a date Saturday night. A real one where he picks me up and everything.

It was a fiasco from the start. He was supposed to take me to The Reel which is a fish place so my taste buds were all set for seafood. Because he refuses to use a GPS unless absolutely an emergency, we got lost and drove all over town. Then he said we could find a place for a good steak. The tastebuds were not happy but adjusted. Drove around longer. I finally said I had not had a Whooper in a long time so lets just go to BurgerKing. I was serious because as far as fast food, I do like BurgerKing. He did not like that idea so we went further.

Found a new place that was Korean food and he wanted to try it. Because of the wait, we sat at the bar waiting for a table. This place was very pretty and very busy but it was also very expensive. For $30 per person, you could sit there for 2 hours and eat as much as you wanted. Perry has had a gastric sleeve so there was no way he could eat much and Lord knows I don't need all-you-can-eat two hours. But the kicker was that in the center of the table, there was a built-in cooker and everyone cooked their own food. I told Perry I was on my first real date and he would have to do the cooking. He was a bit agitated about the place too so we ended up leaving after he paid for a sweet tea that tasted awful and I had returned it because I told him I could not drink it. They did not offer a refund and Perry said not to worry about it. That just is not right either.

Oh well, almost two hours later we ended up at my fav little restaurant Bonbon's (which is a couple miles away from my house) and we had those delicious ribs again.

When we got home his stomach was messed up and he was tired. I understood that because he worked yesterday in a hot building. I would tell his boss that he either turned on the a/c or I would be back to work in the fall.

We laughed about our night and he felt bad because he said he knew I was disappointed. I told him we would try it again another night but that next time, I would pack a little snack to take with me.

Sorry for the long post.

Yesterday turned out a little better. We went to a cookout at a friend of his and it was delicious. We were on the motorcycle and had torrential rains while we were there. I would not have gotten wet if the wind had not been blowing so bad. But it didn't matter. A couple of hours later the rains stopped and Perry said we needed to get home. So I still have not been caught in the rain yet. Although he hung my helmet on the side mirror and I can tell you we got a little over a inch. My helmet made a pretty good rain gauge.

Good evening ladies

Sorry about your wi-fi, Dale. Not having connection really stinks. How old is Kalli now?

Glad you stayed dry, Rat2 but sorry about the dinner date. :(

Yesterday was the annual trek to the fair. I tried some new things: Pickle Dr. Pepper (soda with pickle juice and pickle slices in it) it actually was pretty good. Dh and I split a personal wood fired Chicago Beef pizza with au jus to dip it in. It was delicious. I had a deep fried taco (this was my favorite new treat) and this dessert cup with fresh strawberries, whip cream, brownie bits and completely drizzled in melted Belgium chocolate. WOW!! It was really good but too much and very rich.

Today we worked on preparing veggies for the deep freeze. We did broccoli and cauliflower. Will do the twice baked potatoes next weekend. Summer is officially over for us. First day back to school is tomorrow.

Hope you all have a wonderful evening

Well, I get to finish up today getting my 6 month cleaning over with. They just have to polish my teeth and she said it would not take long at all. My question is if it does not take long at all, why didn't they finish up in the 4 hours I was there last week? Sheesh! The things I go through to save a buck. You know what? It is still worth it to save that much money.

It is almost that time of year I buy myself a divorce present. I am not sure what I will get this year. It might end up being a plane ticket to Boston. There is no way with my hamstring recovery, that I am ready for that long of a ride. Darn it. I really want to take a long motorcycle ride. The 8 1/2-hour trip to TN last year was amazing. I think I saw things that I would have missed in the car. I don't know. It is just a wonderful feeling of freedom.

I hope I did not hurt Perry's feelings but I told him I was going to stay around the house this week. I must say, I like rolling around in a king-size bed.

Just like o'l times, I read until I could not hold my eyes open and slept pretty darn good. 6 and 1/2 hours for me is a rarity.

Going to get my two loads of clothes washed this morning, go get my teeth polished, and try to work of emptying out the living room. I am going to load some of that stuff up in the truck and make another donation to the thrift store or the church. I need to get back on track!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

    What’s happening in Boston?
Oh, I thought I had told y'all. Perry's uncle passed and they are having a Celebration of Life. His stepfather is from there. I have never been to Boston and it is not a place on my bucket list but I feel like I should go to support Perry. Perry said I did not have to go. His stepbrother and father are flying together and staying with a relative. His stepfather did not ask him to go with them so I don't want him going by himself.

YAY! Dental cleaning/visit over. It did take another hour but I did not really mind. The student is very pleasant and very gentle, which is a huge relief.

All the wash is done and although there are lots of things I could be working on, I am not feeling it. Sitting here eating beef jerky that did not turn out so good. I used eye of round instead of London Broil like Perry uses and it did make a difference. I also tried a new marinade on some and a rub on some. The new marinade one was edible but I had to throw one batch out. Not sure what finally ate it because it laid there for several days. That never happens with the stuff I throw out so that should tell you something.

Next time I make jerky, I will use Perry's recipe and method. I think he loves the fact that I liked his the best.
