I never thought I'd see the day when CA was not in a drought. I've lived here my whole life and we seemed to be in a perpetual drought!

When I lived out there in the late 60's it rained all winter, did I mention I hate rain :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

So of course there are grocery items I wouldn't have normally bought

Happens to me every time :w00t:but the up side is I only need milk, eggs and bread most of the time :D

Glad you found some coffee, so you don't have to go to the store, Lori :)

Good afternoon, Chels. Sounds like a good day, since the sun is out. Gloomy here, still waiting for the rain to come.
    Oh, those look good.
Looks like it's stopped here, and the sun is peeking out here and there.

Lunchtime flyby...dreary and rainy still...temps in the 60s.

Thinking of going after work to look at washing machines...mine is in need of being replaced...guess that'll have to be my birthday present this year.
Sorry about your washing machine. :( Hope you find one you like.

Well, all quiet here:)... lurking from work;)...
    Yea. Quiet is good. :)

Thought I was gonna starve before I got back home o_O

So of course there are grocery items I wouldn't have normally bought

And yes, it rained on me the entire time :glare:

Truly sorry to hear about your washer Angel:(
Sorry you got rained on the whole time. :(
I do that if I shop hungry. At least you'll have some extra goodies. :D

    ...I napped....an hour and a half's worth.
Now I'm going to make some popover rolls. :) I've never made them, so here goes nothing. ;)

So, not sure if there was a shooting or not, SWAT and about 200 law enforcement are there, but now they're saying that the original report was that someone *heard* shots fired...we'll see, but it's quite the drama going on at this point.

They were rolling people out into the street and working on them when I looked but never said they were shot

Well, having to use the top part of my oven....the small oven.
The :censored: heating coil burn up in the bottom part of the oven.
Small flame on the part that burnt through an all. UGH!!!

Yeah, they're saying they can't find a shooter, or anyone who was shot. They're thinking that maybe someone heard a car backfire, but the police said they take all calls seriously, just in case.
Thank God is seems that this time was a false alarm. :nun:

I think they were better than the ones I make  good luck with your popover rolls. Off to google what those are. They sound good.

Thanks, I put him to work this weekend lol. He made grilled cheese and two pans of meatballs for the freezer. He wants to learn and I think he's at a good age. I do cringe when he's putting cookie sheets in the oven though. I'm afraid he will fall in.

I found it already. I'll let DH order it though.
I wonder if grease got spilled on it. It burned through and there is a small piece that's completely disconnected on the bottom of the oven. :(
But yeah, I knew that about cleaner. It's self cleaning, and I haven't used any spray cleaner on it though...that stuff is flipping toxic. I just use elbow grease if there's a spill, but I mostly use foil, or an extra pan to catch spills so I don't have to scrub.

    Yum!! Hot wings please. :)

The recipe I used was from the Susan Branch "Heart of the Home" cookbook.
I just ordered several used copies on Amazon. Love them!! I'd never collected them before now, and they're out of print.
You can find the recipe I used on Pinterest though, search Susan Branch popover
Sad, but most of her pages are there. Can't imagine why anyone would published anything anymore, people just copy and post online...
There was a similar one on FoodNetwork by Ina Garten. Same ingredients, only the baking instructions were a little different.
I'm sure most recipes are all about the same.

They're good, they need flavored butter, or jelly/jam though. Kind of bland. But OH SO super easy.

That's great he likes to cook!!!

    Good evening lovely lurkers.

So I decided not to go look at washers this evening because I was able to do a little research at work (yeah a very rare moment where I was able to slack off for a bit :p) and now I'm totally undecided on what I want...I just want a simple machine that'll wash the dang clothes, but they all come with all these fancy features and loads of crap...going to have to do more research before I pick one out.:?:

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio last year...reviews are all over the place for them.
I'm not a huge fan of it, but it does clean the clothes. ;) No center post, low water levels :nah:, loud....
But like you, I looked at them all, was even more confused as to which to get.

Consider me late to the party too  But I've bookmarked and will check her website out :)

Lots to see on pinterest too. Books are on Amazon (used).
Well, she has an anniversary copy for sale on her website, but I didn't get that one.
Have a good night, and sweet dreams Sara.

Thanks. I talked to DH, and he had me order the part. Should be an easy and cheap fix. :)

Oh okay, I didn't know that. :) I guess they're supposed to be sort of hollow...mine were.
