In your nightmares
Good morning Fran, Joey, Bobbi & Paul  More snow out there today :nah: There is an advisory in effect, 3-5 inches.

Awesome refund, Joey . Hope you do get to relax some today Paul. :)

Good morning all.
Hope you get to chill out and relax Paul! Rain days are good for that!

Nice return Joey! We usually get a small refund for Federal, that usually covers what we end up owing IL.
This year, we have a very small Federal return, and IL owes us $1.00, DH didn't file online, because it cost more than a dollar to electronically file...he wants to MAKE IL send us a check for that dollar.

Sorry you're getting snow Sara. :( We had some flurries, but that was it. Our high today is supposed to be in the low 40's, but I'll take it.
I'm sure everything budding/blooming has frozen though. :(

Good Morning all you lurkers! I guess it has been a while since I was lurking around with 35 pages of comments! Look the coffee cup is vaping......

Good morning Fran, Joey, Bobbi, Paul, Sara, Lori and Steve

With a refund like joey's we could pay off our home, pay for all my hearing stuff and still bank money! o_O

Good morning Sara, Lori and Steve :)

The hoh & eic deductions really helped get that refund :)

I don't even know what those are.
DH has done our taxes for over 20 years, I have no clue.
We have no kids, and no major medical expenses, :nun: so we're just pretty much TAXED....and they keep it.

Good morning Steve :)

Hope it's under 400 degrees :facepalm::laugh:
Still and all, pretty much anything you're vaping with the exception of the atty they mentioned in that study, is going to be 90-98% safer than smoking.
ETA: We all have to know (deep down) that there will be some risk involved with vaping.
Remember, that's *one*, non-peer reviewed study coming out of Calif. where everything causes cancer.
I'm not saying to disregard the study, or that there's nothing to it, not saying that at all.
Just that it's still *overall* safer to vape than smoke.
The Royal College of Physicians concluded in their in depth study released last May that vaping is, what? around 95% safer than smoking.

But hey, my lungs are clear, I can walk, run, exercise (and should ).
That hacking cough left me the first two weeks.
If you've ever looked at the list of known carcinogens, well...it will make your head spin.
Do the best you reasonably can to live in a healthy way, live each day to it's fullest, and just "keep on, keepin' on".

Good morning, Lori  I'm sorry all your buds/blooms have likely frozen. :( that stinks.

Good morning Lori. I don't really recall what time I went to bed  I did sleep heavily as I used that major medication.
Kind of groggy still, face is swollen and have a bad headache... give me another hour or so and I should be fine;)

Good morning, Dale  You poor thing. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Haha :p

No need to be sorry, I knew you were being flip.
I just feel bad for any new person that might be reading that, or people not familiar with advanced mods or advanced coil building. It seems there weren't many options being mentioned for that group.

I completely applaud the "think tank" that's forming regarding that subject.
It's all pretty much way over *my* head, but that's how breakthroughs happen. People who *do* know about such things start picking each others brains, and solutions are often the end result. Well, solutions...or a better way.
...I just can't participate.

Since that other thread was started I have been testing the temperature of my tanks and e-Liquids with an Infrared Temperature sensor and not seeing over 100°F for the e-liquid in the tanks. External temperature*
Same here.
I tried really hard to get my KFL coil as hot as possible, and the highest I got was 185F. That was just the exposed coil. No wick, no juice, outside of the chamber.
75F on my RM2, with wick, with juice.

I mean, *could* a person even get to 400F, or more importantly 470F, with a standard ego, and say a 1.8 ohm coil?? Can't imagine you even could get that temp.
But, I'm woefully uninformed on the ins and outs of testing equipment.

HoH = head of household EIC = earned income credit if you have children, I did not make much last year so I qualified for the biggest EIC credit :)

This pretty much sums it up for me. Wayyyy over my head too. I really hope once the more advanced vapers mull this around for a bit, they can find a solution. I feel guilty they are doing all of the work but I have nothing to offer or add either. I wish I did.

Oh, okay. We just get the basic credits.
I know a guy I work with, his family gets decent returns every year because of they have 2 kids, and I guess can take the EIC. Is that the one when you have kids??

I wish that thread would be closed because the "testing" in my opinion is flawed and no sane person would actually be able to stomach the taste to create the nasties they claim are produced. Just the other night after over 10,000 puffs on a Baby Beast Quad X4 coil it started to taste funny. Upon removal even though the cotton was white on the outside it was dark or blackened around the coil wire itself on the inside. Changed out the coil and lovely taste returned. Who would actually vape that continuously?

I have NO idea.

The gal I work with vapes with the mini pro tanks/ego batteries. She uses the SAME coil for sometimes 2 weeks.
I keep telling her that if she ever saw what that coil LOOKED like afterward, she'd change that nasty thing!!
But, she won't change.

I run one tank of juice through my KFL's, that's it. I vape the coil gunking juices, my coil will be black, and the wick as you described, but the second the flavor begins to change, I swap for a fresh tank.

Yeah, I'm burning off coils and refreshing wicks all the time, but for me, if I'm going to vape (for pennies a day), there are trade offs.

I used to spend (combined) a total of an hour a day approx. outside smoking the stinkies, so the time it takes to burn off a coil is nothing compared to that.
I do 4 tanks at a time, so about 40-45 minutes over the course of 4 days.

I know Kurt the chemist is very well respected here.
However, I'd like to see the study to be reviewed by peers, and done in the UK. ;)

Depending on how you prime, break in and the wattage you fire a coil will depend on how long a coil lasts. If it did not taste amazing for so long I would not have been using the same coil. I have fried an Aspire BVC coil that I literally only installed the night before because I fired it at too high a wattage by mistake.
