We've got an above ground pool and I've been working for the last 3 weeks getting all cleaned up and ready for swimming. 3 weeks ago it looked like an Everglades swamp and now it's almost perfect. Just a bit chilly to swim in yet. The water was 73 degrees last night. These warm days will help getting it back up to at least 80.

We had an above ground pool for years...loved it, but then Katrina hit and it got filled with tons of pine tree crap and who knows what else and it ended up sitting so long that a swamp would have been luxurious by comparison....We ended up tearing it down and never got another one...I do miss being able to float around in it on hot days, but I sure don't miss all the upkeep and work involved.

Cookin' supper ;)
What are we having? :p

When we opened ours last year, there were tadpoles in it. :( (stoopid frogs)

Yeah it was disgusting...so much so that I just wasn't willing to deal with it, especially since I didn't have anyone who was willing to help (the ex, who wasn't an ex yet was away in Iraq at the time so it was just me)...so tearing it down was the best option.

    Tadpoles?...Ewww!

Well, the frogs were out early last year, and we were about a week and a half later than usual getting it open.
We usually open it the last weekend of March, or the first weekend of April.
It's an inground, so the frogs think it's a pond....covered, or open, they consider it a pond.
A couple years ago I posted a video of the frogs, in their full LOUD glory.
We have no idea how to deter them (humanely), so they just have a good ole time at night.

Hopefully they won't lay eggs before we get it open and circulating.

We've counted as many as 15 around the edge of the pool.
The tree frogs, can swim and climb out. They can get out of the skimmer if they manage to get in there, the toads....not so much. :(
We took the solar lights away from the edge of the pool a couple years ago, thinking that if we didn't draw the bugs with the lights, the frogs would go away....nope....

Oh YES!!:laugh: Scared the daylights outta Elly!
And, he deleted that video. :( So, it's just history now...til later spring, no doubt they'll be back.
What stinks is when the frogs are all out around it being loud, and I try to go to the spare bedroom to escape DH zzzzzzzzzzz (snoring).
I can hear him snoring on one side of me, and the frogs on the other.

    :D

Speaking of, how are your new hearing devices working out?? I know you took something back that didn't seem to help/work.
Yeah, I took the Roger microphone back. I just don't have enough natural hearing left to benefit from it ... I think it was mostly my loss of comprehension. The new hearing aid is doing great :thumb:

I was going to say that I'm sure we have our fair share of wildlife around us but I don't hear them ;)

So, you can hear with the new ones.
Your comprehension of the spoken word is just rusty, is that right?
