Paul, I'm with you...I've lived in the South all my life, and as hot as it is, there is no way I would survive any of that cold weather up north...I complain if it drops to the 40s here.
Probably won't be having any meeting for a few weeks now...the sick coworker called me today to let us know that the docs say she can't come back to work for at least a week...they're not sure what she has but are worried it might be contagious...I told her to stay far away then....And the bosses are leaving this Thursday to go visit their son in Alaska...they won't be back until next Friday, so over a week without them. And then I'll be taking a semi vacation the week after that for our annual vacation that the bf takes at the timeshare on the beach here...I will only work 2 days that week to do payroll...the rest of the time will be lounging by the pool with my margarita.

Not counting The Great Lakes, or local lakes, the nearest beach with an ocean is 10 hours...I think that was Pensacola.
Can't remember which was closest...maybe Gulf Shores...but both were basically a 10 hour drive.

I live only 9 miles from the beach...however we never go...when I want the beach I prefer to go to Panama City Beach in FL...ours is pretty to look at, but I don't like getting in the water here...that's why I like the pool at the condo...I can sit on the balcony and look at the beach and then go down enjoy the pool...and don't have to get any sand where I don't want it.

But, I get it. When we first moved to the lake, we fished all the time, and went out in our little boat.
