Not a good situation for anyone. :( I feel bad for the family of the woman and for the people whose vacations were cut short.

Welcome to lurkers. Come lurk, chat, stay for awhile.

Oh boy, now I've got Fat Albert in my head singing Bbbbaaaaaaybay

Headed home from the clam bake/BBQ. Good time had by all. My brother has started the 2nd round of grilling. I even tried a clam. Not a fan, I must say. Blechh. I'll take a burger any day.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day. Dale, enjoy your visit with DD and Bela. Lori, hope your dinner is good. :)
    So far so good :thumb:

Glad you had a good time today too, bout time ;)

    Hello my lovely lurkers.

Vacation is over...now I need a vacation to recover from my vacation! :p:lol:...It rained a lot and was raining this morning when we left and has rained most of the day today...think we only had a couple of days where we didn't really have any rain...was okay though, didn't want to be in the pool in the heat of the day anyway, and was still able to sit on the balcony and enjoy my margarita! ;)

Dale, hope you're having fun with Bela. :D

Sounds like a good time Sara...don't like clams either...I'd stick with the burgers too. ;)

Welcome to the new lurkers. :)
    Welcome home Angel
Glad you had a good time ... won't mention "Monday" just yet :sneaky: Opps!

Oh my, these burgers were delicious. I almost asked where they got them but I'm guessing they weren't of the lean meat variety we've become accustomed to these days. :sneaky:
    I bet they weren't!!

It's LIMES tonight, pucker up!!

Oh boy! :w00t: I hope it's great and you have a good time :)
DD and Bela are here ;)
    It was awesome!!
They asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, DH said it was a belated birthday dinner for me, at the end of our dinner, they brought a slice of cheese cake, drizzled with chocolate and caramel, with two forks, with Happy Birthday written in something ?? around the edge of the dish.

Yea that your girls are there!!

No, it's not, it's really sad for all involved, or on board.

If memory serves, aren't clams kind of rubbery?? I think I only tried them once, maybe they weren't cooked correctly. I wasn't a fan either, but glad you had a great time!

Welcome home!! (((HUGS))) Have sure missed you!
Sounds wonderful despite the rain. Anytime you can just chill out on vacation, overlooking a pool, rain or not, with drink in hand, is a good time if you ask me. ;)
Welcome home Angel  glad you had a nice time despite the rain. I hear ya on needing another vacation to recover.

So, I was just online looking for a pic of what I'd had, and found this article from earlier this year.
The place we ate tonight (Popeye's Chop House), received honorable mention in this article rating the top 10 St. Louis Best Steak Houses.
It's 50 miles outside of St. Louis. Teeny, tiny rural town.

Awwww, belated birthday cheesecake. How sweet is that :)

Yes, clams are kinda rubbery. These were steamed clams. Not sure why they called it a clam bake, if the clams weren't baked. Bwahahah DH pulled it out of the shell for me and dipped it in melted butter. I hesitated but figured why not, it reminded me of a wad of bubble yum (do they sell that where you are?) big ole nasty hunk of chewing gum. No flavor to me other than the butter. :?:

Your DH is soooo right about fat = flavor. But, I will say that my turkey burgers are pretty darn good. So I guess I'm ok with lean stuff ;)

    Living room.
Its Sunday In Lurkland. Muffled bells ring, calling the faithful Lurklanders to service, the rest either live peaceful lives of unbelief, or pretend to be believers while supporting the great Anti-Lurker.
I am going to cut the lawn at daybreak. Its peaceful and very lurkey.

DH had a couple customers who liked that place too, so I know he's been a time or two, if it was early enough, he wasn't into waiting if the line was down the block.
Good morning when you get here.

It takes a real Lurklander to lurk at 3 am.
