Copied from FB...this is just WILD!!

Fascinating video from Long Island, Bahamas. For several hours after Hurricane Irma passed through the ocean disappeared - there was no ocean visible for miles!. Apparently the sea is gradually returning. I wonder if this was the back side of the storm surge created by the Hurricane? It's certainly intriguing, and I couldn't help noticing all the conch shells

Long Island, Bahamas ! There is no more ocean ! As far as the eye can see . And they don't know where it went ! Wow .... Irma is more powerful than people think ! Be safe guys .

I heard the sound. Very windy.
Oh, okay. Good. I could hear sound on FB, but not when I played the one I posted.
I would have run out there with my metal detector for that :w00t:
Lol's. :w00t:
A couple people in the comments said to beware of a tsunami.
Maybe the water returning at a fast rate??

That was my first thought, tsunami. Wondered how fast it would come back in.

Hoping for the best for you and all the Floridians.
    We'll be fine. ;)
No need to worry about us. Let's just worry about those who have been in and are in the path of these storms.

Good morning Dale,be glad your little guest doesn't have a brother to fight with :)
    Yes indeed! BTDT!!

Good morning KC and OBG.

Dale, sorry you have such a busy day. :( Like OBG said, be glad there's no little brother.
    It wasn't that bad. ;)

Thanks everyone, I go back to the ENT 10/18. I'm ready to put this to bed. It's been ongoing for over two years and I'm really getting frustrated. I went to my primary for voice problems (I was worried about cancer from smoking which led me to try vaping and quitting the stinkies) He referred me to the ENT and since then I've had my tonsils removed (atypical and could be cancerous - was not), discovered a benign cyst in my nasal cavity(I was not aware of it ) put on acid reflux/gerd med, ct scan and MRA done, sonogram on thyroid (oh hey, we found another potential problem) and then a repeat sonogram on thyroid (yep, still there) ugggg! In the mean time voice problems still there :grr: sorry for venting. I am very thankful that none of it has been serious but just tell me what's wrong with my voice or tell me it can't be fixed.

So glad you are having good weather, Paul. Yay!! For saving money with the tv and that's great news the car repairs weren't outrageous.

Glued to the tv with the hurricane coverage as I was with Harvey. Prayers going out to all affected.
    Wow hon, so sorry:(

:nun: Good grief, what a journey.
Prayers they get it all figured out soon, that's HAS to be maddening!!

Yes, I'm glued to the reports too.
AND, I started watching/following Satellite Beach on FB.
It's a favorite area of FL of mine, very nice community.
WELL, a gal posted that she was at a gas station/convenience store yesterday around noon, and her little dog jumped from the car and ran down a dirt road, bordered by a wooded area...well, immediately people reposted it, and there is quite a few still looking for the little dog.
So, I'm watching that conversation as well. *sigh* WHY do I do this stuff to myself, I just DO NOT know.
UGH, if I was close, I'd be out there looking too.

    Help mercy!!!
    Awww!

...and, it appears that it's highly likely now that my nephew is going to end up homeless.
It sucks, but he will take it in stride, I imagine.
Course, he won't be alone in it. I fear a good many will be losing everything as well. :(
He always says that this is just what people already know if they live near the water in FL.

He's been through all the major storms.
Charlie, Wilma, Andrew, etc. that have gone though Florida in the last 25 years.
He rode out Sandy in a 3 room block home in The Bahamas with only a sand dune between him and the ocean.

I've still not heard back from him, (emails and texting) not sure why, he just may not want to talk about any of it. I've seen him in the daily fishing pics, so I know he's still there.

Where he lives, when he's not in Alaska, is Chokoloskee Island, it's S of Naples.
They just said, they're looking at a possible 10-15 ft. storm surge S of Ft. Myers...that would be his area.
There will be nothing left on Chokoloskee, or Everglade City, I suppose if they get that much.
Everything was under 8 ft. of water after Wilma there, and only a handful of homes are on stilts.
Many are park model homes or pull type trailers.

I'm very thankful that he's in Alaska right now, and I don't have to worry about him being safe. :nun:
My heart is heavy for all those in areas that have been and will be impacted by these storms.
    :(

    Good afternoon lovely lurkers.

Bf's mom is driving me up the wall...he had to work today, so she thinks that I'll be lonely so she stays here and talks nonstop to me...I'm about to lose it any minute...I haven't even eaten lunch yet because she follows me into the kitchen and then just stares while I eat, to make sure I'm happy with what I'm eating...I know she just wants to make sure I'm happy and all, but she's doing just the opposite for me...I know, first world problems.

Sara, hope they can figure out what's going on with your voice and get it fixed for you.

Dale, hope Bela isn't wearing you out too much.

Lori, glad your nephew isn't actually there and will be safe...praying he doesn't lose everything.

Going to go take a shower just so I can a few minutes of peace and quiet.

    Enjoy your Saturday. :)

No worries, I'd be venting too!! It's about time they get it figured out!!

    Hiya everyone :)

Sorry I have not been around much these hours are brutal on me.

I hope everyone is safe from all the bad hurricanes and bad weather!!!

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
I've been wondering how you were doing. Glad you popped in, you were in line to get a nastygram.
That's what we do when someone doesn't keep in touch in our family, they get what we teasingly call a "nastygram", usually an email that says E T PHONE HOME.

I heard from my nephew, he hasn't had internet for about a week. :(
He said it doesn't look good for his place (I agreed), he said his roommate got out some of his stuff, but not his boat, and most of his stuff is still there.
Again, the main thing is, he's not there. :nun:

Felt much better after my shower...I really do love his mom...she's like my second mom, but just like my own mom used to drive me nuts at times, well.......;)

Still waiting on bf to get off work, and then it's an hour drive home...it could be after 8 before he gets home...I got here before he did last night...the upside is a really, really good paycheck.

Lori, glad you finally heard from your nephew...still praying for all in Florida. :nun:
