Good morning, Dale, KC, Sara and Lurkers:wub:

Hope you all are doing alight in these wintery days. Hasn't been terrible down here, just bouts of cold and rain, but no hard freezes yet. I'm waiting for a nice weekend so I can cut out for the new windows, insulate and try to finish out the front of my house. In the meantime, my regular job has picked up a lot of steam and it's getting really busy, which is good. These building materials get expensive! Glad I'm doing the majority of the work myself. Can't afford to hire on help very often.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning lovely lurkers.

Will be a sad day today...we bury the boy's dad. Will be a full military funeral, with burial at the VA...somehow that just makes it even sadder to me. :(

My boss has been great...she's supplying all the food for everyone for after the funeral...she also did this on the day he passed...his wife was really grateful because no one else had done anything like that for them.

    Hope you're okay Dale.

Was a lovely service...but as prepared as I thought I was, I really wasn't when they did the 21 gun salute and played Taps...even my boys broke down at that, and they've tried to be stoic thru all this. The Patriot Guard Riders led the procession to the VA and just seeing all those toughened old vets saluting his casket really got to you...we almost didn't make it in time, well actually we didn't, the procession was late by 25 minutes, and the VA tells you that if you are late, you have to reschedule...they already had another procession there waiting and had to put them on hold...it was our local cops who was at fault because they were supposed to provide escort and block traffic and they cancelled 15 minutes before we had to leave. The cops from the next city we had to go thru did their job and escorted us the rest of the way. We were just grateful that VA agreed to let us continue anyway.

My boss did great with the food, she sent over so much food, we could have fed a whole battalion it seemed like. Everybody ended up taking food home with them and there was still plenty left for them for a couple of days. I have to say, I work for some really great people!

    Uh oh. You okay?

Breakfast for dinner. Scrambled eggs over English muffins with cheese and a big bowl of berries.
Good evening Sara :) I will be eventually.
We had breakfast food too

Hi Angel, I will be ;)

I’d have cried too at that  Maybe the healing can begin now. You do have a very thoughtful boss it seems :)

    Good evening all.

So sorry for everyone with snow and terribly cold weather!
    Stay safe and warm!

Angel, I couldn't have made it through without breaking down either.
The VFW sent people for my Dad's funeral too, like you said, hard to get through those.
What fabulous bosses you have Angel! They're keepers for sure!
Just blown away hearing all they did!

    Not much going on here.
We only got about an inch of snow over the weekend, it rained, is raining, and it's all gone now. :nun:
    Bring on spring!

    Sweet dreams all!
