Where are you at, IN? Think we’re supposed to get your storms this evening and say goodbye to the warm weather. Just in time for a 9:30am soccer game tomorrow

We had to turn the AC back on, it’s warm and of course we have twice baked potatoes on the menu this evening. Thought about switching it but DH had already preheated the oven, what 45 more minutes?

    westfield....about 30 - 40 minutes north of indianapolis....

I'm still waiting on my air fryer/toaster oven/ect from amazon....it hasn't even shipped yet, though when I bought it it did say that it would be nov 3rd - 27th....I was hoping that was an exaggeration....
I've a feeling their gonna either say they are out of stock or I'm gonna have to dispute it with amazon....
after I bought it I looked at the link and it said out of stock for the color I got, now it says used....things that make you go hmmmmm.....I've only had one other time with amazon where a seller was not legit...

Zomgosh......never even thought about the air fryer :rolleyes: I need to remember that we bake in it as well. I used it for Thanksgiving why not for regular meals. More pressure, less space on turkey day, I guess. House is still cool and the potatoes were amazing. We had 30lbs of potatoes and I used some of them to freeze twice baked. definitely a must for next year.

Hope you have some rain in the forecast soon, Dale. Fingers crossed.

Ugh, Amazon is so frustrating. Seems like everything I look these days is a Chinese business. Which fine, whatever, but don’t send me styrofoam heads when I ordered Cotten. (I’m assuming now that’s exactly what happened, when I was young and naive) Hardly anything I want to buy from amazon is legit anymore. I hope you don’t have to dispute and get your air fryer and in new condition not used.

    Florida
I would totally move out there, except for those darn tornadoes ;)
You might consider moving to northern Florida. Our winter consist of one month…January…with temps usually in the 30-40 range at night and 60s daytime. Every few years we have a really cold winter…two years ago we had one week of 27 nights but in the 50s daytime.

Hurricanes are rare here too. One in the 1960s and Irma. Our cost of living is about the same as up north but we have no state income tax and our medicare is not taxed.

All in all a great area to live in.

Edit: Mistake. It’s not Medicare that is not taxed it’s our Social Security. SS is taxed in many other states. Sorry for the mistake.

That sounds like it has potential. :) I could deal with those temps and the rare hurricane. Buffalo can be really beautiful in the summer and early fall. The older I get, the less I like the cold temps and driving in the snow. Would be nice to not need 4 wheel or all wheel drive.

We lived in the Greater Cinti area until 6 years ago. Snow and ice every year and cold, cold, cold 5 months each year. Hurrying from car to house or store all muffled up, freezing hands and feet. Heated blankets at night. Nah! We don’t even have winter coats here. Just jackets. I'm a gardener and here I can spend all day outside every day even in the winter. Can’t beat it.

The down side is that June-August the humidity is horrible and temps are around 90. But just as people up north spend months indoors because it’s so cold outside we spend 3-4 months indoors because it’s so hot/humid outside. The big dif is we can still go outside early in the day when it’s cooler. It’s funny to hear lawn mowers at 7or 8am.

We can wear our “Florida uniform” most of the year…shorts, Ts and flip-flops. If you hate cold weather you'll love it. I hate anything below 60 degrees.
