    Good morning lurkers

Thank you for the quotes and breakfast yesterday morning, Dale :)

Lovely pics of C, Joey! I’m bummed you didn’t get to have your birthday breakfast. I’m sorry. Teens can be rough most days. But every so often I catch a glimpse of my sweet kiddo and I know he’s still there ;)

Aww Rat2, sounds like a fun afternoon with your Aunt. :)

    Welcome Kelt!!

    Have a great day everyone!

Good evening Dale and lurkers

Chili sounds amazing. Dh made stuffed bell peppers (rice, beef and cheese). I was pleasantly surprised and told him he could make them again anytime. ;)

A girl after my own heart, nothing wrong with two weekends of birthday celebrations  I know it will be worth the wait, Joey.

I can't believe after not much sleep last night I had such a busy day. I have had a recliner that I wanted to get rid of in the back of the truck for 4 months and just never got around to taking it off. My friend (who lives 25 miles from me) said her garbage service would pick it up at the street.

I filled up the truck for the first time since 03-09-2021. We hardly ever drove it but I used it to go get diesel fuel and I cranked it up once a week and would let it run for 15 minutes. I got 5.50 miles per gallon in the garage.

Dropped off the chair and she was getting rid of a little beachy-looking dresser. I don't know what I am going to do with it but I liked it so I brought it home. She also loaded up her pressure washer in the back for me to bring home. She is coming over tomorrow afternoon to clean my driveway and sidewalks.

She had a bunch of paint cans that she asked me to drop off at the recycling center which I did not mind doing at all. Worked out really well because I got a list of all the stuff they collect. When I start cleaning out the garage, there are fifty-eleven bottles of chemicals and stuff I have no idea what it is. I will just load them up and take them there.

My aunt's granddaughter was supposed to come over so she had heated up a lasagna. Her granddaughter had to cancel so she called and asked me to come to dinner. It was wonderful. Food that you do not have to prepare always is.

It was another beautiful day. 69 degrees and sunny. I need to enjoy it while it's here because it is supposed to start raining Thursday and rain for several days.

Have a terrific Tuesday everyone.

Welcome, Kelt. That pastry does look mighty good. Of course, everything I like would be good in a pastry. Very versatile.

I have to ask. I am the nosy inquisitive one here. View attachment 991969 Where is the home country?
I have to be picky.. it's a PASTY, (pronounced "Paahstee" ) not a pastry. It's a big deal now, as the "Cornish Pasty" has the "appelation controlle".. which means it can only be called that if it's made in Cornwall, my home county in the UK. (just like Champagne is only champagne if it's made in the Champagne region of France)
Savory short crust pastry, filled with potatoes, flank beef, rutabaga and onions. Lunchtime fare for Cornish miners and fishermen.
Lots of Cornishmen came to the USA to be miners in Michigan and elsewhere, giving a legacy of language and food not forgotten. I'm a Cornishman , moved here a lot later than the miners, but proud of my heritage and actually able to make pasties, thanks to my Grandmother's excellent tutelage.

If you want to enjoy one, I heartily recommend Dobber's pasties from the UP of Michigan..they ship!
Passties, me lovver ;) <----that's a link to their website

Fun fact: St. Piran's day (Patron Saint of Cornwall) was March 5th.

    Please forgive the mistake.

In all honesty, I did not know what it was and I LOVE learning new things. I google just about everything. Thank you for sharing.

Happy belated St. Piran's Day! That is two things you have taught me tonight. I'm going to like you.

Thank you for the St P wishes : "Gool Peran Lowen" in the native tongue.
    No
worries about the misunderstanding, most folks think I'm talking about PASTIES (pay stees) ... you know, those nipple covering sticky things .
If you like me, and I like you.. I might bake you a Paaastie, but it's early times yet.

    Good evening. Chili sounds great.
I'm having a pasty. (sort of oval shaped meat and potatoes hand held pie, from my homecountry)View attachment 991938

I am looking forward to seeing the driveway cleaned. There was one clean spot on it from when I was working on the lawnmower and spilled the oil I was changing. It is nice to know that (unless I choose to) I have retired from being a caregiver, cook, electrician, physical therapist, plumber, maid, nurse, tree trimmer and a bunch more. Someone, please remind me why I want to date and find someone to grow older with.

I just check on one of my Amazonian treats to myself and it was about an hour away from me yesterday. Today when I checked it is in a different state and one that is not even next to me. That is so weird. Oh well, nuttin' I can do about that. I hope this little shopping spree is done with. I cannot believe how many treats I have ordered and every one of them is for ME! (and I do not feel bad about it either).
