Good morning lurkers

Oh wow! Dale totally took the words right out of my mouth. You definitely dodged a bullet, girl! I’m sorry, he sounded like a great person to be around and but if nothing else…he brought you closer to old but new friends. :) Everything is so gosh darn expensive these days. Glad the pie was enjoyable.

My mom was through it by 50 and well, that’s closer than 40 so fingers crossed. ;)

Couldn’t sleep, my mind is in overtime and Lucy was ringing the bells to go out. So here I am.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Happy Fri-Yay!! Good morning Dale

Ya know for as much as I clean, you’d think the house would be cleaner :?:
    Good evening Sara
I have the feeling it’s pretty darn clean for the vast majority of people;)

Been feeling a bit off the last few days, took a long nap this afternoon.

Omgosh, have we had rain today? I did not even want to get out of bed this morning. I made myself because going to the gym sometimes helps. I got there and they are closed until next Tuesday. It is really nice that they give their employees time off, I just wish I had seen the note on the door. Totally my fault.

It worked out okay because I really did not feel like it this morning anyway. This afternoon, it was still raining so hard that I could not even get the umbrella out and walk on the driveway. So I, being a tad on the stubborn side

, got my 10,000 steps in the house walking from one end to the other. Yes, I am not right.

Good morning Dale and lurkers

I hope you are feeling better, Dale. Nah, this house is a pigsty. No offense to the men on this forum, but living with 2 and an extremely messy bulldog, it is exhausting.

I’m sorry the gym is closed for the weekend, Rat2 and for all the rain. I laughed because we only just got the treadmill at Christmas but that is how I’ve been walking since 2019. A figure 8 around the dining room table into the living room and around the couch. I prefer the indoors because of the controlled weather and close proximity to a chair/couch  to be honest, I feel like I can walk at a faster pace than if I were outside. On the treadmill there is a constant worry of stumbling and flying off the back. But I think that is better on my hips because it’s a straight path. I also have used Leslie Sansone’s videos on YouTube called Walk at Home. Those are very good.

Off to finish my list. Hope everyone has a great day!!

Morning all. Dark and gloomy here and looks like it is supposed to rain again all day.

Heehee I'm glad I was not the only one to walk in the house to exercise. I am not sure if I will do it today or not. This 1969 long shag carpet might not withstand too much. Although I wouldn't mind if it was gone.

I cannot believe my parent put this ugly shag carpet over beautiful real oak flooring. I pulled up a pretty big section in the corner of my bedroom to see what it looked like. Oh, it is beautiful. Looks like all I would have to do is fill in the gazillion tiny holes where they stapled the padding but other than that, I would not have to do a thing. I have enough to do right now so I will worry about it another day.

Not sure what I will do today. I could go start my laundry but gosh, then I wouldn't have anything to do tonight.

I have got to figure out a way to meet people. I have been looking at some of the MeetUps here where I live. There were a couple of hiking ones that I might enjoy. I hope there will be some more as it gets closer to summer. I would love to find a group that goes and listens to live music. I think meeting out in a public place with a group of people would be safer than taking a chance on a dating app. Although I am sure there are lots of success stories. I am just afraid with my luck, I better stick with groups or pre-approved applicants.

I went to one Meetup many years ago. It was for the ukulele. A lot of people but I had to of been the youngest in the group. heehee When I taught myself the uke, I was laying in bed watching tv or YouTube. That one time I went to that meeting, I found out that I couldn't play as well when I was sitting up and they would have thought I was crazy if I had stretched out on the couch. Oh well, I never went back because they met downtown and everyone knows I detest one-way streets and parking decks. I'll find something, I am sure. I can be pretty persistent.

I bet y'all get tired of my ramblings. I am not sure what else to write about. It used to be everything about Dad. Now I have nothing but a mundane existence. Well, to be honest, it is not as mundane as it used to be.

    Good morning Rat2:wub:

I love your musings. :) Don’t ever stop!!

I suppose one can not fly off a treadmill that’s only going 2.5 mph but I know it would hurt  Hopefully it stops raining and you can get your steps in. Real oak floors would be amazing!!

Dropped Dh off at the car rental place. Can’t remember if I mentioned he is leaving at the crack of dawn Monday for a business trip. Won’t be back until Thursday. :nah:

Back to scrubbing those cupboards. Enjoy the day!!

    Good morning Rat2
I agree with Sara, ramble on, we’re all the same ;)

Enjoy your scrubbing Sara, you’ve almost made me ashamed enough to do some myself
Lol, Dale. Certain things get done twice a year ;) Fall-ish and Spring. Cupboards are done and half the appliances. Not too much more on my list. Except for food prep.

It’s chilly out but the gorgeous sky is blue and sun is shining. :)

    Good morning everyone

Had minor surgery on my elbow to remove a few chip and a spur yesterday, mild pain and swelling so far I am doing good. Sorry I have not posted about it before hand. The last few days have been kind of hectic. I get a minimum 2 weeks off work to heal up.

The sun is shining here too, first time this week.
I did do some scrubbing :bluewink:

Good afternoon Dale and Joey

I’m glad the surgery is done and you are doing ok, Joey. Sure wish we were closer to help you out though.

Aww Dale, you didn’t need to scrub for me ;) Working on moving furniture and vacuuming/mopping. We have to make room for two folding tables  I am going to feel so good come Monday, that’s for sure. Maybe a little tired. Lol. Planning on spending the day with Kiddo and getting ready to go back to work.

It’s close to 60 and I opened the slider and a couple windows to get some fresh air in the house. Love this weather because we don’t have to worry about bugs yet :)

Yum!! Chili!! We had turkey sandwiches and doritos. Quick and no mess.

Disappointed that I ran out of time to make a Bananas Foster Ice cream cake for dessert tomorrow. Will have to be peach cobbler that I can make in the morning. I’m whooped. Coloring eggs with kiddo in a few and then hiding his Easter eggs for tomorrow. He specifically asked to color eggs. I’ll take it. Only have a few years left of that. I had hard boiled a dozen for deviled eggs tomorrow so that worked in my favor.

    Sweet dreams

Is that what made me leave the sanctity of my blanket in the recliner and actually get busy myself? Bad Sara!

    heehee

I actually did get rather productive today. Made hummingbird food and got that out. Changed sheets and did ALL the laundry. The last load is in now. I had a bunch since I haven't done it in a while. It's so nice not to have to do it all the time.

Since I had clean sheets, I had to shower and wash my hair. I even shaved my legs. (not sure why, but I did) I sure wish my hair was dry so I could go figure out what I am going to have for supper. I am not really feeling the salad thing like I normally do. Oh well, I like surprises!

Well, I guess I will forgive you this time.

I remember you saying you were going to have it done but I did not know when. I will still send good healing vibes to you. So glad all went well. Now. . . just take care of yourself and don't do anything that you shouldn't.
    Supper was chili tonight.
Boy, that sounds so good to me since it has been raining all day and I got chilly trying to get my steps in outside. I only did 2000 before I came in. My nose was cold.
    1laugh.gif
I finished up in the house.

I was so bad tonight. I ended up fixing myself air-fried french fries with cheese and bacon on them (dale's chili would have been good on them too). Every month or so I want a canned drink. So I also had an RC Cola with them. And you know what? If there was some chocolate in the house. . . I'd eat that too!
    1YES.gif
Or a chocolate-covered donut! Awww, I am sad now. I've already looked in the fridge to see if I hid something from myself. I didn't.
