Made a big bowl of chicken salad for supper tonight.
Got the roof done today and I personally think it looks great. After the quote he gave me on gutters, methinks I'll stop right there for right now. I'll power wash them and see if I can make them look better. He wanted $1800. Sheesh!
Going to be away again. Did not think a new adventure would come around quite this fast but I am driving to Ohio tomorrow. Going to go to Harley Drag races, ride his motorcycle and stay in a haunted castle. Ain't no ghost gonna jack my joy!
I am so excited. You know I will have to tell you all about it. I know it is going to be fun. I can't tell y'all how happy I am that I am getting out of my comfort zone and starting to live.
On the way back from Ohio, I am going to stop in W VA to see my friend Liz that I have not seen in so long. She is going to be so surprised. Not sure yet but I might also stop by Paula's. She retired and now she has two baby miniature goats. She named them Thelma and Louise. That is so cute.

Just finished supper, bacon, eggs, hash brown patties and toast. Looking like rain but I’m not counting on it. A little farther north they’re supposedly getting a pretty bad storm.

We had chicken stir fry and fresh strawberries are out at the farm stands now, so we had strawberry shortcake.
We were supposed to have some rain also, but that never happened. Driest stretch we’ve had in awhile. Hopefully the forecast of rain for next week holds true. Grass is brown which is definitely not normal for us this time of year. End of summer, absolutely but not the beginning of June.

We made waffles with…..you guessed it….strawberries lol for breakfast. Working on tidying up a bit. I want to get out to hose off the outside furniture and wash my car. Mostly pollen but also some smaller ash particles from the wildfires. We can see the sun and blue skies again.

I don't know if you remember, but we moved to SW FL Dec. 2021 and it's HOT today...and most days this time of year.
It's been a bit of a wild time since Ian, we're in one of the hardest hit areas. (Pine Island/St. James City) The island that we live on is the one that the bridge was out and they got it put back in, temporarily in 3 days.
It's been a rough ride, but you know the saying, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger...well, that's definitely true.
