    Good evening retired. :)

We do smoke things, mostly bacon and hams but other things during the holidays. But we don’t sell otc. People bring us their animals and we slaughter, process and package it for them as they want it.

Not sure what it means to have the radio “updated “ but I hope they get it figured out for you and you get your vehicle back soon.
I think I used the wrong word. I guess I should have said upgraded. Perry wanted something better than the radio in the car for his music and my gps.

Not to mention, get blamed for being off by 3 inches.

Maybe I didn't do as good a job guiding him as I thought. I have not seen him hook up the trailer, but it looks like it will help. I was never 3 inches off.

The man was very nice about all the problems. Guess he should have been considering that I paid him way too much money.

After all the problems, Perry did some research on head units and decided he thought I should have a better one than I had bought. When we went to get it fixed, he "upgraded" my upgrade. He is paying for that! Sure is a lot of money for someone who listens to the radio.

He will love listening to his music while we are traveling. That is being optimistic. I still want to go places. He has gone back to work making those parts for the old Rolls-Royces and has been working every day. Not sure why he will not just enjoy retirement. I guess he really does love what he does.

I went to the college to get my teeth cleaned for my six-month checkup. Laid there for 3 1/2 hours and still have to go back today. She said it should only take an hour and a half. The things I do to save money. Even though I have dental insurance now, I bet it would not be as cheap to go to the dentist, but it sure would be faster.

I also started cleaning up the Honda CRV to get it ready to sell. I don't think the inside has ever been this clean. I can't believe cleaning it has made me so sore. That is why I am up at this time of night. I am thinking that I might just take it to a car wash for the outside.

Going to go try to get some sleep. Hugs to all.

Here's a day time clip from the dashcam.

When prompted, enter the following passcode to view the clip:

I'm pretty happy with it so far. Images are decent and I have no complaints.

I used to love listening to music while driving, now it’s just boring silence.

The huge plus in using YouTube Music is you get to listen what YOU want to listen to. No advertising, no "yack yack yack". So I just queue up an artist I like listening to and that's all that plays. Sweet!

    Good evening everyone
    :)

Today was hard on me, we’ve got the possibility of rain moving in and my body knows it.

DH and DS left this morning to go camping so I’m a weekend widow again
    ;)
All that means for me is no unnecessary cooking
    lol

Yeah well I’ve been fully deaf the last 3 or 4 years so music is a thing of the past for me, I miss it terribly.

Jeez Louise. I had a response all typed up and the Internet ate it.

Hopefully this guy works out and you can retire next month Dale. I know you must be tired.

What other kinds of things set off the detectors, retired?

Joey, hope the time goes quickly for you so your schedule can go back to normal.

Rat2, I’ll send you some snow lol They think we might get some on Halloween. I hope not.

We’ve been busy touring college campuses. Kiddo has it narrowed down to 2 and now is contemplating living on campus vs commuting. This weekend he will finalize everything and submit the applications. Pheww!

Hope ou all are having a lovely Friday. :)

Hi Sara! Ewww snow for Halloween eh?

Oh no, you’ll miss the boy something fierce if he moves on campus. But I suppose it’s a rite of passage for many.

I just need the boy to stay until after November 7th then I’m outta there!

These detectors operate differently than your standard run of the mill metal detector. Phones, keys, etc. can pass through with no issues as long as you follow instructions and go through the middle of the towers. Get too close to one and it may go off.

The Opengate system goes for mass, rather than just "metal". Even if you were to disassemble a firearm and try to sneak it through piece by piece, it's going to catch some of it (like the barrel, slide, etc.).

Generally, kids set it off because they have their heads buried up their backside. Failure to remove iPads, 3 ring binders, etc. from their backpack before going through. Items that are known to trigger an alarm are required to be removed, passed to the screener, and then the student walks through. Items are handed back to the student and they're on their way. These systems are designed to where you theoretically can pass close to 500 individuals through in an hour.
