Good afternoon everyone

Sounds like a lot of congratulations are in order!!! Congrats on the retirement, Dale. May you sleep in every day and get to do all the things that make you happy!

Congrats on the weight loss and having weekends free again, Joey!! I’m willing to bet you’ll be diabetes free by the time you reach your goal.

Congrats on your prize winning costume, Rat2. Way to go on all the canning too! Hopefully you start feeling better. I’d still keep the appt if you do though.

Oh geez, I’ll see myself to the corner of my bedroom where I can watch my Christmas Hallmark flick and sip on my iced coffee

Um, I’ll take the 80s over what we’re getting hit with. Snow, of the sticking to the ground variety. :nah: I’m a nervous wreck because I kept the helicopter on the ground  and let kiddo drive to his grandparents. I really wanted dh to take him but he needs to be able to do this alone.

    Hi Sara.
Ugh snow! I’d be concerned about letting a kid drive in it too but I understand that he has to learn. How far away are the grands?

Two skids and a slide away.

Hey Rat2 , you should get back to being your sweet quirky self.
I am not too sure about the sweet, but I take quirky to a whole new level.

But I'm not going to stand for the noise when all I want to do is sleep.
Oh no! I have to have noise to sleep. If our power goes off, I wake up immediately. I know it is not the best thing to do, but I got used to listening to the radio when I was married. My ex snored so loudly that I couldn't sleep without it. Since I gained weight, I am the one who now snores.

I take a glp1 drug Mounjaro. Losing weight is the biggest thing for me right now. Eating right will bring my blood sugar down so maybe I can get off the drug.
I think you are doing great. I am glad to hear that they are going to lower the cost of the GLP-1 drugs so it is affordable for me. My friend Perry has lost 60 lbs since he had is pacemaker put in back in May. He did have a gastric sleeve procedure years ago, and it took away his diabetes. His A1C is 1 point too low now. I am sure you will meet your goal, and it will definitely help you.

I am so disappointed in myself for gaining. I hope the ortho gets me fixed up so I can walk and exercise as much as I used to. That was the key for me. Of course, if I did not like my cooking so well and enjoy going out to eat, I would not have gained as much. Maybe?

    Ugh snow!
Sara can keep it! We have gotten really cold here today. We rode the MC yesterday to the Moose because they were having their Fall Festival, and I am freezing today. The drastic weather change sure does do a number on my joints. They don't like it.

I've heard people say that an abundance of nuts predicts really cold winters. We have the most I've seen here. They are dangerous to walk on. I hope that prediction is wrong. I like cooler weather, but only because I dislike HOT.

The Moose was selling their Brunswick stew, and it was tasty. The kids were so cute. They had face painting and hayrides along with S'mores. I enjoyed the girl singing, but I never did see the magician who was supposed to be there. That's ok. Trickery sort of freaks me anyway.

    Good evening Rat2.

That saying about the nuts is tried and true. I finally convinced my husband we should have a small generator so we we don’t get stuck in misery like we did once some years ago. Bad thing about all electric homes is loss of power during an ice storm , no heat and no way to get out.

oh no, Dale. hope you feel better soon.

we got more snow. yuck. spent an hour shoveling the driveway. enough to be a nuisance but not enough to drag out the snowblower. I don't mind shoveling as long as it's fresh and no tire tracks. Got 6000 steps in. supposed to see another couple inches before tomorrow.

The grands live about 25 min away. He made it home just fine. Thank goodness.

Hoping I’m a lot better by Friday as we have dinner guests coming over for dinner and games.

Glad your son made a successful trip and you’re no longer worried. ;)

    Good night everyone. :)

Wish it would decide what it wants to do. The past couple of days have been divine. The vestibule we're set up in receives about an hour of direct sunlight in the afternoon and it turns into a blast furnace when it's warm out. No AC, no heat, and they're not going to put any money into the building as it's on the chopping block at the end of the school year. I may purchase some of that window film that reflects the heat/light. Home Depot sells the stuff on the cheap. I've tested the waters on whether I can do it or not and the general consensus is the District would probably throw a fit. I'm almost to the point to dragging an Adminstrator into the building for the entire hour and then point out the district isn't paying for it, I am.

There are times when red tape is beyond moronic.
