It's going to take some getting used to with these school schedules. I keep looking at the weather for next week, thinking damn, the drive in is going to stink and then I remember I have the week off.
    Good morning retired. :)

You’re off the whole week for thanksgiving?! Wow.

One whole week for Thanksgiving, 2 weeks for Christmas, and another full week in March for Spring Break.

Yeah... I like working for a school district!

It looks like I'll have about a month and a half off this summer before we gather back up for our annual training in preparation for the new school year that starts in August.

Sounds like it’s a good fit for you!

Mornin'! Did a rare thing today. Actually slept in instead of getting up at o' dark thirty. Problem with that is my brain thinks I've wasted half the day already.
    Good afternoon retired. :)
I too slept in. Was the worst day possible for me to wake up late though, was still a little groggy when I got to church. Now the day is over half way done.

    Good evening :)

I’m definitely not a coffee connoisseur. I have one of these.

    IMG_6306.jpeg
I add whatever coffee grounds I have to the filter in the middle and fill with cold water. Leave it in the fridge for 12-24hrs. Remove the filter the next day. Then I fill a mason jar with ice and fill it 3/4 of the way with coffee and 1 pump of sugar free syrup (caramel or mocha) I froth 4oz of our local dairy farm’s skim milk with a scoop of unflavored protein powder to get a nice foamy concoction to add to the top. It helps to keep me away from Pepsi and to reach my protein goal for the day. I know it’s better to have protein from whole foods but it’s been keeping me on track so far. I also have a jar of cold brew instant coffee in the fridge (think it’s Nescafé) for when I don’t need a whole pitcher. I definitely taste a difference. Folgers is nicer. I need to grab some flavored coffee again.

Sorry for the lack of sleep happening with everyone. Sleeping in is great but I agree then it feels like the day is over.

Aww Joey, glad you were able to do a temporary fix.

Hope you are feeling better, Rat2.

    Enjoy the break, Retired.

I have this week off too. Spent the weekend cleaning and prepping for Thursday. We are supposed to host 12 for Thanksgiving. I say supposed to because there is talk of a winter storm coming. If the roads are bad then Dh’s side will stay home. Fingers crossed that doesn’t happen.

Yep.... Lots of rain here, too. Supposed to end this afternoon. Errands to run this morning, then a few chores around the house. Gotta tackle the garage sometime this week. Bought a few storage tubs last week that need filling, then finding space in the garage.

Stopped at Discount Tire this morning to set up an appointment to get new tires. Pro tip. Before pulling the trigger on new tires, do some shopping around and see if there's a good deal elsewhere. Then go to Discount Tire's website and apply for their "match the price" offer. I just saved a couple of hundred bucks by finding a full set of tires cheaper elsewhere, I prefer getting my tires there due to their "no fault insurance" for tires. Doesn't matter how you destroyed them, they'll replace. I rarely use it, but it has come in handy over the years after running over something and ruining a tire.

Good evening everyone, we’re having a thunderstorm and it has cooled off a lot in the past hour. There were thousands of leaves being blown off the trees this afternoon, I’ll be glad when the majority have fallen.

I made stir fry tonight. Got a huge pork .... still slow cooking, most of that will become bbq tomorrow hopefully.

Sounds like you found a good deal retired. I hate buying tires almost as much as I hate shoe shopping.

I am finally feeling better, thank goodness. Just in time to blow leaves!

The leaves sure are hanging on this year, and there are nuts galore. I also cleaned out another closet. Oh my gosh, it was so sad. All the clothes that I cannot wear. It is definitely time to take action. I have walked the last two days very slowly and a bit painfully. The ortho I went to see said I had bursitis in my hip and knee. Now I am wondering if I should look into my back because it can cause some of the same symptoms. I had a herniated disk several years ago, and it still acts up, but not like it usually does. Oh well, it will all be fine. Exercise is the best thing I can do now to help, since I am holding off on the corticosteroid injections.

I heated leftovers (chicken alfredo) and added a delicious salad. Easy, peasy. Just like others here, I sure hope I get some sleep tonight. Hugs to all!

Oh, I almost forgot, Perry bought a motor for his old Lexus that went kaput, so we are headed to GA tomorrow. I don't think we have the same definition of what traveling means.

I must admit I am skeptical of a six-hour drive with the problems I have been having lately. Oh well, at least it will be an adventure. It always is with me.

Including the two sitting on the porch?

Took less than an hour to get the new tires done. Also had to replace every single TPM sensor. At least that blinking yellow light has gone away!

Next up is a brake job. I should do that one myself. Might whip out to the base on Friday and do it there. Provided, of course, the nap curse hasn't carried over from Thursday!
