I have noticed that trying to filter freezer-temperature extracts through just a standard AeroPress coffee filter starts off easy, but quickly becomes more and more difficult.
Must be filtering out some sort of oil or unpleasantry. Maybe this method will produce as well as some on the ECF have stated

Is letting it warm to room temp not an option?

I think the idea is to lower the temperature of the extract to where certain oils and impurities in the tobacco begin to solidify. Ethyl Alcohol will not freeze in any residential device (-175°F). By dropping the temperature of the extracts to 0°F, you supposedly can capture impurities that are thinner and harder to filter out at room temperature.
It seems to be working.

Mac Baron Classic Golden Extra

Extracted (Cold Maceration) Winter 2019
Mixed (10% at 30/70 w/10mg Nicotine) Nov 2019

They say at a certain age the mind is the second thing to go, but mixing up a liquid and forgetting about it for over a year ? Not even sure I should be vaping it, but here goes...
Mac Baron claims this is a mild Burley treated with a 'top note' and pressed, then rubbed out. The tobaccos listed in the ingredients are Burley and Virginia, the top note is supposedly cocoa.
I am getting a very mild yet consistent Burley flavor from this one. The Burley seems more earthy than nutty. The Virginia is, for the most part, simply there to support the Burley. Every once in a while I get a hint of sweetness from the Virginia, but it is mostly in the background. Whatever Cocoa top note has faded from sitting too long. After an (unintended) extended steeping, this is a mild earthy Burley vape.

@Bronze did a review earlier in this thread about a year ago, his review is probably closer to accurate as I just waited too long.

Are tobaccos ever both cased and topped?

Sutliff (one of the oldest existing tobacco companies) makes two ; Danish Cavendish, which adds a sweetened (cased) Black Cavendish to Virginia and Burley before topping with cocoa and marshmallow (might be on next year's list), and Burley (J4) which is cased to smooth out the Burley, then a topping of Vanilla is added.
Learn more as I continue on this journey ;)

After reading through all of these I can see I have severely been limiting myself. Gonna have to change that! Papaw, your reviews are very well done, they make me want to try lots of new things. Warm weather is coming, and my state is so backward, I don't know if anywhere is allowed to ship to me (worth checking into next winter). I do have a local tobacco shop I was going to get some things and experiment with this about a year ago, and well, we all know what happened then, and I never got back around to it. Think I will give this thread a reread and see if they carry any of those I thought sounded good. Butterscotch, Maple, Meat Candy, an almost Dragon's Fire, oh my. I'd be interested to try a turkish at some point as well, used to smoke Camels once upon a time.

I don't know if this would work, but with some varieties only being available in a much larger size, how viable would the freezer be for keeping it fresh? Just wondering...

If Texas can freeze two weeks ago, then we probably haven't seen the last of cold weather yet.
pipesandcigars.com offers hundreds of varieties of pipe tobaccos in "Bulk", or per ounce. One ounce of pipe tobacco works well with a half-pint Mason Jar.
My personal favorite, Decatur Black Cherry, is no longer available that way, but Lane Dark Red is.
Where there is a will, there is a way.

It was about this time last year I lost my buddy, Urlacher, a nine year old male German Shepherd.
I spent that weekend mixing e-liquids just to keep my mind and hands busy. Something like 500ml of NET flavors and 400ml of Sweets and Bakery.
But when one door closes, another opens. And in early November we welcomed home Natasha, who now a very spoiled five months old female German Shepherd.

It was shortly after my mixing binge last spring our friend @Bronze sent my six of his personal extracts to try, but by then I was swimming in e-liquids.
Mixing these the last couple of days, right off I noticed neither the extracts or the e-liquids they make are as dark as mine. I believe that is because Bronze uses an eight week cold maceration, where I prefer 12 to 13 weeks.
So tonight I am mixing Bronze's Sutliff Chocolate Supreme, Sutliff Chocolate Mousse, and Sutliff Chocolate Truffle at 15% extract. Maybe I will finally get to keep my word to an old ECF friend, and in a month or so review his work.
Sorry I took so long, old man.

I completely understand. Been there done that. So much juice so little time to vape it. Get to it when you get to it Pop. For the record, I cold macerated those for 10 weeks. I initially planned 8 but as I neared the time I decided to add two weeks for good measure. Still may not have been long enough.

So.. 10 hours heated 50/50 PGA/VG, then four weeks maceration, filtered with coffee filters then placed in a freezer for one week. Freeze filtered with standard AreoPress filters then 2 micron lab filters. Allowed PGA to evaporate, open mason jars with a small fan, for 24 hours then replenished to original levels with VG, and aged three weeks with occasional shaking.
Mixed up eleven different 10ml samples tonight, and right off the bat I can see these are darker. The e-liquid samples were mixed at 10% extract, just like I do with cold macerated extracts, but these are darker from the beginning. Will wait until Memorial Day to try them out, but already thinking maybe I should have started at 5% extract with these.
