I've read this around 5 times and still don't understand. "Planned gang ups????" Anyone know what this means?

Let's say you are trying to help someone in the New Members area who's asked a question like "I'd like to step up from my disposable sticks. What's the very best ecig I can get with a $300 budget". And someone there tells them to get a mech, some cotton, wire and a torch.
And you come here and say "there's an ijit in this thread over here, anyone want to come help me explain?".
So 10 regular salooners sweep into that thread, and dole out whatever.
That's a "planned gangup".

Not sure if it's happened lately. Could be though.

But the intent is to help that person, not to be malicious. There was one recently where the OP couldn't understand vv vs vw and some other basics. Some of us went to help them understand.

And what makes that look really bad, is if said "ijit" looks at the profile of any of those 10 regulars, and sees where the "rallying of the troops" took place, as well as any name calling that took place here in the saloon...

I know, but it's also been done in a way that could be seen as ganging up on someone with a different opinion. THAT'S what we're being told not to do. I really DON"T know if it's about a recent incident, or a misunderstood situation (like the woodville sacrifice - that was TOTALLY in jest, made by people who LIKE Reonauts...), or a baseless complaint. I'm just saying, I think that's what Classwife's talking about.

I would not be surprised if any/all of the reporting of posts was done by "outsiders" who have never even posted in here... Not like any of us would have made any enemies outside of here, mind you.

It is possible that some of the "offensive" threads really didn't offend anyone, but were reported just to be a jagoff.

Ok, well I guess I'm still not understanding how that's bad? Ganging up on to me sounds like bullying. If a bunch of us went over to a thread and blatantly bullied someone, ok that's bad. But if several of us go over and give advise or if others are bashing a ProVari (usually the case) and we explain why it is a good Mod, again, don't see that as bad.

I guess I'm feeling as though a few people's interpretations are being given more light than maybe the entire groups intentions. I don't find that fair but then again, I may not know all of what's going on and I'm tired and cranky from my husband needing a drink, pills, food, new ice pack and whatever else every 5 minutes.

We all get what she is conveying, We get it. However, the hurt will remain hurt, the confused will remain confused. the rest, well they will just move on past this.

That happened a few weeks back; I came in here but it was also a vet telling a new member to get a zna or a mech and telling them to wrap .05 ohm coil with and use a 30 amp battery. We collectively advised them on an MVP or something else with safety features.
Personally I don't see that as ganging up; not when the subsets safety is what was being kept in mind, from out point of view. In fact I don't know anyone in this group who has done anything other than look after new vapors safety. If keeling a persons safety, we being and best interests are ganging up and bullying ill where that charge with pride.
