Thanks :D the throat hit is killer and clean. I think the air set up with these helps because it comes from the bottom and helps the vapor go up and out. It just i dont like these tanks because of the pooling in the top section. I still feel im on the right path though.

Use it for awhile and see if it gets better after the glass gets seasoned. I'm curious, nice looking build. I do like those tanks, they can be modified alot.

Why does this remind me of the CE2 style clearomizers? You know, the "I'm gonna wait for the vapor to fill my mouth before I vape" kind of vape?? Is it the same, mre777?

Well the delay is from the thicker glass im using and how long it takes to heat up and get going, no way around that till the better stuff gets here. Also im kinda limited on wire sizes so im only working with a 36g. But yeah so far its long slow drags to get a good lung full and a monster throat hit. Tasting very very clean now but i think it would be best to torch the mesh first to help with the brake in. I just want the mail man to come so i can dial this puppy in!

Would like to see some glass in the box tommorow, but regardless I am gong to set up my DFW Ratank with a fuse tube and try it out. Airflow comes up center under coil, so should be interesting. Got to do the Black friday thing in the morning, and will get to it when I get back. Expect crappy pics, and an unbiased review about how much I like it.

There's a lot of experimenting going on and I think that's great. However, I get a little concerned about the people using glass from fuses and christmas lights. There could be all sorts of additives and contaminants in or on the glass that might not be particularly healthy. Even lab grade glass, the manufacturers recommend a thorough cleaning prior to use. Innovation is great, but let's not pull a Madame Curie here. :). Vape Safe.

Thanx that is why i kept it i think, you can see in the video that i had drilled it out b4..

Yea I see that. I got one set up genesis, and another I drilled the wick holes some and run cotton cheesecloth. I use the cheesecloth one at work cuz it is pocket friendlier, and vapes like a choo-choo.

This can't be stressed enough. A lot of cheap glass that comes out of China contains lead. There's no way in the world I'd vape through a fuse from Xmas tree lights.

Aside from the thing exploding who knows what's in it.

After i de-soldered the ends there was a lot of flux on the glass so I cleaned the S#$@ out of it :D and torched it for good measure... But good point to anyone wanting to try this, take care and be smart. This really is for trouble shooting and such as i do have some fused quarts on the way.

Thats exactly why I just burned to test wicking and coils, but never actually put on the top cap or took a puff:laugh:

I vaped mine strait out of the christmas tree, gave it a nice cool evergreen flavor.

Just a note about coil wrapping. I found that if I wrap my coil on a smaller diameter rod and then work the tube into it I get a nice tight coil around the glass. The problem with wrapping right on the glass is that once you release the wire it springs back a bit and has less contact with the glass. With what I'm doing it gets solid contact on all coils and heat transfer is much better.

I found a couple of those fuses and not to mention what contaminants there are, there is a glue which helps to hold those end caps on.

The glass is actually about the right length, though. I got all the glue off and thoroughly (if that's even possible?) cleaned it. I wrapped up a 2 ohm coil and set the ZMax for 8 watts.

I got a good steady stream of vapor out it. I pinched the top of the wick off to reduce sputtering and raised the glass up off the plate so some vapor would come from the bottom.

I've been fiddling with airhole positioning and wattages, but I can't say I'm real impressed with the performance on my AGA-T. The flavor is fairly good, but vapor production isn't great. And I don't think the throat hit is a good one, either. Almost like the dry, burnt throat hit of a dirty clearo. I think that is due to the placement of the airhole - it can't be positioned in front of the wick or it robs the heat necessary to get the wick firing. The best position I've found is about 20 degrees off the wick - flavor is still good and I get some better vapor out of it.

Maybe with some thinner walled tubing or a different airhole location (up or dowm), the vapor may go up. I may have to try it in the Vivi rebuidable, as mre777 has done, where I can more easily pop some holes in the plastic tank at different spots.

The ease of making the wick, without any need of oxidizing, is a great plus, though, and hopefully the community will find a way of tweaking this into a satifactory vape.

I was kinda wondering how wrapping coils on glass would go. That sounds like a very good tip.

I have managed to get a little better performance, even with the airhole directly in front. I have noticed that you have to really tip the atty to get enough juice to vaporize. The throat hit was better and I got more vapor, too. I think that on my first trys, I didn't have enough juice and consequently, the dry throat hit.

I've been tilting it during the 2 or 3 second warm up and this seem to help.
