You also mentioned watts so I assumed you were talking about a kick. Okay, so let's get to the bottom of this- you found a 5V battery that goes in the 18490...tell me about it if you don't mind.

Yeah that was me. If you use a Kick on a 3ohm shorty carto, you can get over 5 at less than 10watts. I keep mine around 8 8.5w and it meters out at 5v right now. It's the resistance of the carto that makes the Kick pop! I was using the 3.7 Red AW 18350. I turned it all the way up to 10W and got 5.3v on a 3.0ohm shorty carto. I like my 3.0's at about 4.8v but these shorty cartos seem to be able to take more. Less filler I guess, less to burn.

$9 a month 50min. Which rollover. Its on only when I leave the house. I don't need a camera, music GPS or any silly apps just a phone for emergency. Otherwise I wouldn't have one at all.

I won't list all the reasons we and family find our phones helpful and necessary, in some cases. I started carrying a bag phone when they first came out and was able to tether it to my laptop or pen tablet for internet access when out and about. Wi-fi was only a dream back then and available for only short distances for thousands of dollars.

The cameras, with great abilities and flash, on our current phones, makes carrying a camera almost obsolete.

I can check my bank balances on the run and drop by bank to make deposit to our fed-for-online purchases and travel when needed.

I can make deposits into our main account via cell phone but there is a limit to amount of deposit so it's really not very useful.

A few weeks ago DH left his aluminum card carry thingy in the car (that has his ID) and needed it for going through TSA at airport and ID for car rental when he gets there. Staff and patients waiting on him out of town. So he called me before I even got out of airport to bring it to him. It would have been over an hour before I got to a land line, he would have missed flight and many, many people, who count on him, would have had their lives terribly disrupted. (Some of his patients come from long distances in Mexico to see him.)

I had a 200lb dog race around a corner of house and flip my feet up over my head when she slammed into my legs. DH was only 15 ft away but through thick wall so he couldn't hear me yell for him. I landed on my shoulder and thought my collar bone was broken and I was afraid to move. I happened to have my cell phone so called him. He helped me get up. Major thing I was afraid about was the PAIN if I moved.

We have walkie talkies for when I'm in the deep "jungle" but no one else out here has them so cell phone is good to have in case of emergency.

Our electricity goes out so often and sometimes it is off just short enough that getting out the generators is a real hassle for a short time..... having a smart phone we can be in communication AND have some entertainment on low battery usage.

During a couple of our major storms, in past year, our cell service was "iffy," data and voice, so having a land line gives some insurance.

DH is on call much of the time; 100% time for nurses to call him.... What can I say; he has to be reachable at all times.

DD and her family are extremely busy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have to be in contact, all the time, especially with a whole congregation depending on DD, her DH running a restaurant (their new, upscale restaurant is opening any day), and them having a special needs child.

I could go on but I'm sure many will relate.

Ditto for me , Gil! plus a house phone...hey, I'm an oldbroad, I might need to make a 911 call!...and I'm NOT wearing one of those CallAlert things around my neck:(

I'm getting one of those "call alert thingies" very soon!!!!! I need one out here. If I go down and can't get to my cell phone I'm in real trouble!!!! (We have very little flat land; mostly steep slopes and drop offs.) My third documented concussion was when some GIANT, enthusiastic young Bubs knocked me off a 12 ft drop off. Ten days later my mule threw me, out on the lonely, dark road, for documented concussion #4. Even getting on a step stool is dangerous for me now with the migraine vertigo I have. I ain't too proud to wear one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW.... Good Day Fine REO Folk.

I told DH I wouldn't report this..... but here I go. We have only one tub in the house and it's upstairs away from where we live most of the time (besides the outside spa but we can't put oil in it). It's in the "children's" bathroom and very small. I have to put my legs up on the facet end to get down low enough to soak. I'm only 5'7". DH is 6'4" and mostly legs!!! Last week he decided he wanted to take an oil soak, Aveeno Bath and Shower; wonderful stuff but makes everything slippery. Remember he'll be 77 in August. Well.......... he couldn't get out even with the rail/handle on edge of tub. When he has to get down on ground/floor for something he jokingly (sic) says, "Get ready to call 911, to get me up." Well........... good thing I was here. We finally got him out of the greasy tub with much effort. I let him know that if he wanted to do this again he'll do it in the portable stock tank or we'll have to get a walk in tub!!!!! If I hadn't been here he may have had to call me or 911!!!!! BTW.... he did call me using his cell. I was down stairs.

{edit} When our last spa bit the dust, until we got our new one 2002, I used the poly tank as a spa. It's about 100 gallons. We had on-demand water heaters so I could fill it with hot water and keep hot going until finished. Since then I've used it for mixing soils and compost and planned on planting some spreading Black bamboo in it to keep it contained. I may have to reserve it, now, for oil soaks for DH, if he insist on doing any more oil soaks. It's about 30" deep X 6' X 30" and easy to grasp edges and very light weight considering the size. Drain near bottom on short side.

Someone was talking about, on another thread, not sticky, their carto/atty having different ohm reading on different REOs. Any idea how they were measuring this while in use on a REO. I think they weren't actually measuring while on a REO but I've been wondering how they knew what that ohm change was on different REOs. Only thing I can figure is measuring after taking carto/arry off device. Doesn't make sense to me unless juice/gunk build up caused change in ohm measurement or the internals of atty/carto were affected somehow.

I think I'll go find the post and ask OP a question.

The shorty cartos are the BOMB on REOs. I can't imagine them being useful on anything but a bottom feeder because of their low capacity, but they're perfect for a squonker!

We didn't like them; just personal taste. So I'd advise not ordering a s**tload until you find out if you like them or not. BTW... the ones we had were < 2 ohm and only used on non-VV.

Ya...things are really picking up around here. Thankfully. After the last few years of a soft economy at best...we really need the boost. How's the hunt going? Any new bites yet?
I keep getting calls from recruiters every day....I'm trying to wait to find exactly what I'm looking for because I've been having my resume submitted to Chrysler quite a bit. They get 100s of resumes sooooo it's a wait. My unemployment stopped so I'm in a bit of a pickle.

Oh ya...good times :glare: Been there. Keep your chin up and just take it one day....ya know. ;)
Love you too, sweetie.
Thanks Lisa! I haven't been myself lately...really antisocial. My girl friend I hardly saw since she got a bf has been trying to get me to come out and I haven't even been leaving the house. It's cruddy.

ya the tube busted on me good thing i didnt get any on the grand i was glueing the tube to the nipple
NOOOOO...nipples are not supposed to be glued Scott!

Waldo Canyon Fire - Colorado Springs CO

Fire turned to the West @ about 4pm and produced 65 mph winds pushing the fire over 2 mountain ridges within minutes and into the NW part of the city. Acreage consumed estimated at over 15000.

Over 1000 firefighters on the ground battling in still an offensive mode.

Over 32000 folks evacuated. No injuries or fatalities reported.

5 AF Fire tankers and 6 Commercial helicopter tankers on scene and flying.

I live 5 miles from the current fire evc area and have smoke and ash. Still feel safe. Although I work 100ft east of the current evac line, and will go in shortly.

WX forecast is for thunderstorms this afternoon and that will cause winds to change rapidly and cuase fire lines to be breached. Many homes lost last night.

The 2 housing areas on the AF Academy have been evacuated. The 1800 cadets are still on base. They are holding the fire line and it has not breached the base.
I hope you're ok!!!!

Sorry been so behind lately...been in a funk. Love to all of you. xoxo

I just checked and I misread the OP. OP was using two different cartos.
