Our dogs used to bite at their chain link walls of their runs when strangers came to the kennels and had a nasty habit of breaking off the tips of their canine teeth. If it wasn't too bad the vet would just grind off any sharp points so they didn't cut the inside of their mouth. (South Vietnamese handlers use to file off the points of the canines because they thought it would produce a more ragged wound. Really doesn't make that much difference... if you're so close that you have to turn your dog loose rather than him just alerting that there are people out there you're already in deep doo-doo.)
If the tooth, or teeth were broken down near the gum line they pulled it, (them) and implanted stainless steel replacements. Looked neat when ambient light glinted off them just right.
My dog had all his teeth but did have to have his tail amputate. Poor baby, he was always embarrassed around the other dogs after that... they made sport of him.

My last dog was a boulder hound shed carry around 15-20 lb rocks so it ground the teeth down a lot but her jaws were so powerful it didnt matter she was still a beast with the unwanted

See, see, I told ya, German Shepherds are smart enough not to eat giant rocks. They eat other dogs, and cats... lots and lots of cats. (They're the other white meat.)

The only vet bill I ever had for dog damage was to pay for a Shepherd that Rotti tore the face off of. He was fine after just had a new respect for other dogs Been very careful with her after that with Shepherds shes not like that with any others I dont know why shes like that just is Simba doesnt like Pitts but that can be understandable they think they are so tough

Our beagle/beagle mix was outside and the neighbors dog (which the owner didn't have leashed) came over. The dog bit into my dog of of course Buddie (my dog) jerked to get away. Had a three or four inch gash on her back. The whole thing was horrible and ended up costing the other dogs owner about $700.
This Shepherd like the other she had issues with would sneak around behind her and bite her she finally had enuf and peeled one of his cheeks off. It was pretty ugly. A few hundred in stitches and he was fine. He never came near her again too
we have a white Shepherd..we actually had twins...one died from cancer....the other one has it now...if we ever get another big dog I want a blk Shepherd...they have been a favorite of mine since I was a kid...
It's a multi level defence or attack depending on the condition of floors. First, we have all tile down stairs with carpet most of upstairs. Dogs rarely allowed upstairs any more as we like to keep it as allergen and dust free as possible and we rarely use it.
Second, unless somebody spends a few days here it is virtually impossible to comprehend how much dust is carried in by the dogs, and mud, and the amount of hair that comes off of five active country dogs that have 24/7 doggie door to yard that is half bare, loose, micro-fine dust.
If I'm able to do daily cleanings and twice day after a floor washing, for a few days I use an army of iRobot Roomba 500's with aerovac bins (filters on regular bins are smaller and clog up too fast). Even using them daily eight, free ranging the entire downstairs, will fill up the dust bins and clog the filters so that they have to be cleaned well after each session. I've been using armys of Roombas since they first came out. For the very first two, circa 2002, with tiny filters/bins, I had full time help so I only used those two for touch ups.
I started with the Roomba 400's but moved up to 500's when they came out and upgraded to the aerovac bins when they became available.
If I go a couple or three days between Roombaing with 500's I'll run the Dirtdogs first. The are the garage/shop version and can handle a heavier amount of dirt and small objects like timy stick, leaves, COPYRIGHTDMCA, etc. They are only brush action without vacuum.
If the floor isn't too muddy I run a gang of iRobot Scoobas for as many runs as it takes, once a week. That usually is an all day project. I have external chargers and extra batteries.
If the floor is in condition it is now I first clean up the massive amounts of hair with a shop vac hitting the big piles and places the 'bots can venture. Then the Dirtdogs and then the Roombas. Then instead of using the Scoobas, which would take days, I hit the really bad parts with a Hoover Floor-mate. It is much better at deep scrubbing than the Scoobas but it takes a lot of time and labor. Down stairs is about 1500 sq ft.
Roombas require a lot of attention to cleaning out when there's lots of hair involved. That's why it's better to do it every single day, and in my case, with an army of them. Sometimes when I'm being really, really good, and using them every single day, I can run 4 at a time, and run the other 4 the next day while I'm cleaning out the first 4. Our microscopic, cementous dust is very hard on most 'bots.
Our carpet upstairs is very "difficult." It's really hard on 'bots and wears the vac assembly, gears, and brushes down really fast. A few years ago Electrolux stopped selling their Trilobite in the US and I was able to pick up three for about or less than $400 each, new. They sell for over $1K. Those handle the carpet well and are hardly affected by so much hair and require virtually no clean out except for bin and less frequent filter cleanings and have huge bins. They are almost "real" vacuums with very powerful suction and heavy duty parts. They, also, do very well on hard surfaces, for hair, but not as good at dust as the Roombas. These are the early models that only have a timer, but not a scheduler, but they do return to base to recharge and then go back out to finish the time that is set.
I tried another brand but it choked on hair just doing the downstairs bathroom.
I don't use the scheduling on the Roombas as I always have to do a quick pick up of all kinds of objects that the Bubs bring in to chew on like sticks, logs, rock, and real and stolen-object toys.
For the bathrooms I use the newish tiny Scooba. It doesn't get caught under the toe kick and usually doesn't get stuck around the toilet.
For daily cleaning of kitchen I use the Mint, ver 1. It doesn't have scrubbers but does a decent job if used once or twice daily before floor gets too bad. I do one sweep and then rest of battery for mopping. You can use throw away pads but I have a bunch of the washable ones. I save them up in a dirty pile until there are enough to justify doing a wash. Although though the Mint has some assistance to route via a small "satellite" it doesn't have any "virtual wall" capability to keep it in one area, so I have to put gallon jugs at entrance of kitchen to keep it in there. So I try to use it when DH is not here or is sleeping. It is silent, btw, unlike most of the other 'bots.
I don't have any experience with the newest iRobot Roombas.
Downstairs and handy I keep two old bullet canister Electrolux, which have very powerful suction and a 16 gallon pretty new, pretty quiet shop vac with large dust bag. As they are needed so much I don't "put them up" per se. They are part of our decor but I do put burnt burgundy colored covers over them to blend in a bit. Major down side to the bullet, old Electrolux canister vacs is the bags are so small and our dust is so fine I can only fill them up about half before suction becomes reduced. I purchase the Electrolux bags on eBay, 100 per box. (When we were using the upstairs more one Electrolux stayed upstairs. They have a powered beater and another head for bare floors.)
I have 10 Roomba 500's stacked in 3 stacks in my Dining Room right now. Eight are fully functional and charging via plugs (too many to have on home bases and the Bubs knock them off the bases), one needs a new battery, and one needs a fix for front sensor, which I've been putting off for months. Dirtdogs are in front hall and Trilobites are idle and somewhat apart as I need to build replacement battery packs for them. Being in use so much it is too much trouble to "store" them.
Which reminds me...... I promised Jen two of my old 400's that are fully functional but replaced by the 500's. Jen, I'll get onto that.

Oh yeah, I do have two dust bins with long handles and small softer bristle brooms, and several regular brooms and huge dust bin with handle, used mostly outside but some inside, a Ryobi battery powered canister that really comes in handy all the time as it's so small, and a small electric mini vac. Also, a dedicated small shop vac, plug in that sees little use. Also a handheld, powered brush head, for the Electrolux canister, for doing the stairs. There's more but just can't think of them.... oh, yeah, an upright Hepa filtered vac upstairs, and a super duper rug washer I've never used.

Honest. They like it I have to take them out for runs especially Simba he needs big runs but its all good for them down the road is some good spots to run and chase bunnies and yes I got you vac response I was just egging Alice on I dont know if I can use one of those things as Simba likes to kill things He is trainable but thats a lot of money to lose if i dont get it right the first time - Status
