I didn't whine!!! Just reported!

I would love to be living back in Nevada. But I am where my kids and their kids are living. Family over a climate I prefer!

Good Morning to you Robert!

I love wood stoves! But my little apartment has only electric! Maybe I could do a campfire in the middle of the living room?

only problem with indoor campfire is your clothes are gonna smell like smoke and probably should open a window for ventilation which would most likely defeat the purpose of the fire in the first place:laugh:

Not even gas stove or heater? What happens when there is a frozen tree that takes out the electric? I often wonder how people could cope without a non-electrical back up plan for heat... I don't want you to freeze to death!

-------------

GOOD MORNING ALL!!! I think our cold snap is over, it is a blistering 38 at 7 am here.

We don't have a back up plan for heat, yet. After losing power several times this summer and once this winter, I am much more concerned about a back up cooling plan for the summer. Blankets, poodles and an outdoor fire made the winter outage bearable, and I didn't lose a refrigerator full of groceries. This summer when the power was out for over three days and temps were in the triple digits...that was torture.
