Good question Tim. My take is you're right and wrong. Yes it makes you sweat more but then that sweat is what cools you off with the fanning motion. Some folks eat hot spicy food to make 'em sweat more so the air cools them down quicker. Same with sleeping wrapped up in a blanket on hot nights, I used to do that in soccer camp at as a kid. I could be wrong, I'm waiting for vsummer to throw some science at me lol

Ya he already sits and stares at 17 year old daughters blonde friends  thank dog hes a boy I cant handle another Daughter although cleaning my guns in front of all the boys of her age seems to have worked so far

As the stepfather of two (now mercifully grown and moved out) girls, I totally sympathize. Putting the fear into dates is one of the few activities that makes the whole parenting thing worthwhile.

G'day REObubblypeeps

Karen, that sounds like a real nasty bite/sting you got there. Hopefully it will get better asap :)

Ray you da man!! Hehe....~whatever sister wants, sister gets~ :)

Becky, if I eventually get that house one of the first things I'm gonna do is get a dog. Owners there must of had greyhounds at one time because of various signage outside the house one went something like this "My greyhound can get to this gate in 2.5 seconds, CAN YOU!" They also had couple of bronze greyhound statues out front.

Redeyedancer comes through again peeps, he's got a big ol' HEART!!

Will have house inspection later today. The good...nice old italian gent who has tons of knowledge, the bad...$575 plus tax. Told my realtor, no matter the cost "I want Marty" :) Used him 3x before and was never disappointed.

Jamie, went and got some peanut butter and parchment paper yesterday so will be making those COOKIES soon. :)

I don't know how to do this tactfully, so I'm just going to say it.

Pliers + RBA = NO NO!!!
I just read a post elsewhere (not going to link it because I'm not trying to make fun of the guy who did it) where a dude installed his RBA on his vaping device (not a Reo) using pliers. For you lurkers out there who don't already know....no RBA, RDA, Atty, or Carto should never be tightened using a tool ON ANY DEVICE...they only need to be snug (using your fingers) so they don't fall off. That is all.

I was going to answer about convection, but figured I would let the experts explain:

The Straight Dope: Is fanning yourself energy-efficient?

Because it's a real-life effect that's affected strongly by many variables, it's impossible to say conclusively that fanning makes a person hotter or cooler. You have to treat each situation differently

Also...I'm curious...I'm seeing folks talking about building coils all the time on their RBAs. I'm wondering...are you really replacing the coil every time you replace your wick? I've seen complaints about fiddling and having to keep building new coil & wicks...but seriously...I've not changed my coil since I put it on my chalice. Not once. I've changed the wick once or twice, but not the coil. So is this just experimenting that is going on...or are you really unhappy with your coils and needing to build a new one all the time?

My last coil lasted me 2+ weeks I tried to do a dry burn and fried it. Other than that every week or so I change wick and leave it if I'm happy with it.

And Norman as far as dogs go I have a perfect set up. Lab wolf goes direct to kill mode and rotti hangs back and waits in case of the off chance he's losing or if theirs too many for him she is back up.

I'm into week four with the stock coil/wick that came on first Killer. Maybe having the ceramic cup and no soft parts to melt so can torch awsy on it. Silica wick and of all silica I like tis wick from Leo the best. I dry burn every couple days, blotting spare juice first, and a couple times a week I torch the hell out of it. Other night the ceramic cup went from black to white after torching as did all exposed wick. Once a week I rinse whole thing under hot water, blot dry well, then dryburn. After what ever cleaning it's better than new. I think the whole design, with ceramic cup, and NR wire makes for better contact of coil and perhaps less stress on the wires vs holding them down with screws. Post and their screws do get oxidation that affects ohms and the screw points are putting constant pressure on very hot R wire which weakens it over time.

I don't get near the longevity of coils using my RBAs with coils secured by screws AND you can't safely torch RBAs with insulation around positive post without risk of melting the insulation.

BTW... our juice severely gunks. I won't use the current natural wicks because I refuse to rewick twice a day.
