Good morning.
Alice good luck on the move!! $200 per dog!
Thanks. Vets are expensive here. The $200 is with the $35 discount applied and no medicines, no xrays, etc., just basic tests, ears, nails, heart, lungs, etc., and full physical manipulation of joints, etc. So the other
three will be $235 each. There is a clinic near here that has Saturday morning discount walk in clinic for about $100 per dog but it is only shots done by vet techs and no exams or testing or nails, etc. Our wonderful Vet, who has seen the dogs since puppyhood retired so they haven't been to Vet in two years. As I'm placing two of the dogs (and taking my time doing it and yes it's "killing" us) I need full exam and clean bill of health on them and hopefully new clinic can assist me in placing them. Also, they are scanning the Avid chips so I can register them, again, and give the chip numbers and new address to the TriCity Animal Shelter. It's a kill shelter, btw, as are many/most? municipal run "shelters." Shelter will scan them but Vet doing it free. And we need a relationship with Vet Hospital system near new place. It's only about 5 miles from new place. And the availability of boarding suites for such a cheap price is priceless. We're keeping the dog's Major Medical
insurance and passing it on to new "parents" of the two we'll be placing. And I'm requiring new "parents" to sign a contract that they will do a basic obedience class. I'll be really checking out new homes by going there and interviewing peeps.
Howdy Sonny. Hope all going well with you.
I just called new place to submit my "dish" for Thanksgiving Pot Luck. They are supplying the ham and turkey. I asked what size dish (for how many people) and she said to serve 30-50 people.

I told her I'd have to hire a crew to get them there. So she said bring what you can. I'm doing Old Stone Inn stuffed eggplants. So I'll do about 10. They don't travel well either but one of the most amazing recipes on earth. For 60 years the recipe was guarded (secrete) but they published it in local Kings Daughters 1st recipe book in the 60's and can now be found on Internet but not the real, original recipe in most cases. My mother was friends with the owners and did their hair and wigs so we knew the recipe already. It's not GF as it has Ritz crackers in it.
Gotta run. By the storage lockers to take pictures and pick up some shelving units to take the new place garage, go to apartment and do some measurments after I do some here, and by doggie park. While I'm there I'll have to drop by Teddie's to say "Howdy" and see her new puppy or else she'll be ticked at me. We had the option to get a two bedroom right next door to her. I love her dearly but I can't live with her or that close and DH could not withstand the constant interruptions and drop ins. So we had to go with a one BR with study that is almost as big as bedrooms, and extra 1.5 bath instead of two. Good thing as when we move to Green Belt area we can only do it if we upgrade. Can't cross grade or down grade. So we'll have to go with two BR/2 Bath and hoping we can get one with attached garage. At some point I'll get some pictures posted. It's a really really nice place but there are lots more around Dallas that are much more upscale from this one and way more expensive. Most of those have dog size limits though; like some are 20 lbs or less if they even allow pets. My girls weigh 54 lbs, Doodles 65 lbs, and Jake Mastiff is 180 lbs. He won't count once I get him Service Dog certified. DH is worried that neighbors will freak about Jake's size. (And he's the biggest whossie we have.) Although Service dogs and horses can't be refused anywhere DH is concerned about neighbors causing trouble. Jake would be the last one we would place and one of the Vet Techs at new Vet would take him in a heartbeat. Hoping we don't have issues.
ATT Uverse being installed Tuesday. Have to reschedule Vet appointment. I wanted to move some of our custom ceiling fans but DH wants to keep it "simple." There are adequate ones there but plain jane white. So last night DH said he wanted to move the ones from our living room. I'll do that after the move and hire someone to take them down and store in garage until we get settled in. Maintance crew, at new place, will do handyman jobs in off hours. Maintenance Manager/Foreman told me that, himself. I'm moving my Moen kitchen faucet but my beloved huge kitchen sink is too large and they won't cut out the counter for it. Counters are a composite marble like. The way up there two hugest you've ever seen ceiling fans in vaulted area here I really want to take. They are totally custom. Scaffolds will have to be brought in to take them down as they are up 18 ft ceiling right now. I'll do that after we sell off some stuff after move. (Not telling DH I'm doing it as he's already vetoed it. But I designed them and they are amazing!!! I'll probably wait till we move to Green Belt to have them installed.) Teddie has used the recommended movers three times and the first retirement community she move to uses them a lot. The use trucks small enough to get back here in the woods. Any time I've had things delivered off a large truck or 18 wheeler they have to off load to a pickup at the road to get stuff back here. When we moved here, in 1986, movers used trailers for the move.
So much to do. Going to have to sell Hot Tub via Craigslist but will do that, most likely after move. I just put over $700 into it a few weeks ago. Not expecting much but anything will help.
Gotta run. Love and hugs.
