Am wondering if anyone has a suggestion about a case to carry a back-up for a mini in a purse or pack? For years, I've used a hard-sided cigar case to carry a back-up tube mod when I'm out and about. I believe I have only needed it once because I carry a Reo . (and I think that time it was a juice issue).
The cigar case is too small inside even for my mini but it is certainly longer and bulkier than I need to tote around in my purse.

Any thoughts?

+1 for camera cases. Lowepro makes, like, 20 different sized ones - one is sure to suit your config needs. Some also have a pocket or two that you can store things like wicking and tools in, if you're so inclined.

Back in the Odin days, I took a grand/odin combo to work everyday. That atty always leaked in the pocket on me, so a cam case lined with some tissue to save it from juice stains worked a treat.

Hey Robino. I got this case a long time ago to carry my Reo Grand in. It works great for the Grand, but might be a little long for the Mini. There would probably be near 2 inches of space once it's inside.

Here's another link to a cell phone case that might work for the Mini. Measurements are 3.5 x 2 x 1.1 inches.

Hello all. It's been awhile. Still vaping my Han Solo (yes, he's still ALIVE, and with me). Still vapes like the day I got him. Still using my RM3; 27g 6 wraps; 3/32 drill bit for 1.06 ohms. I'm loving this setup. It has plenty of power when the AW battery gets near 3.75. It's usually changed at that point.

The 18mg is getting to be a little strong for me. How can I lower the Nic down a little bit without hindering taste and flavor? If memory serves me, I'm thinking a few drops of PG or VG in the 6ml Reo Grand bottle would lower the Nic a little. Not sure. Thought I'd ask you guys first.

Hey, eddie :toast:

Your technique for diluting the nic in your juice will depend on the amount you want to back it down by. Note that diluting the nic with just PG/VG will dilute the flavour constituents at the same time.

If you wanted to just go down a titch, adding some PG/VG would prolly work. If more, I'd recommend that you pick up some of the same juice in zero nic to add instead to cut the nic - that way, the flavour stays the same.

It's a numbers game. You have 6ml of 18mg in a reo bottle. To go down 20% (3.6mg, which is not that much, netting you 14.4mg in the final juice) you need to replace 1.2ml of the 18mg juice with whatever non-nic liquid you decide to go with. You may or may not notice 20% less flavour.

Good luck with it, brother.

Thanks Papa. Yeah, I'm wanting to take the Nic down - just a smidge, not too far though. I'll try to get some 0 Nic of the same juice. I'm afraid adding PG or VG would give it a grassy taste.

I did try replacing the Rayon CelluCotton with KGD Cotton, and get less of throat hit. Flavor is still spot on with KGD, but has a less, harsh hit. I love the Rayon. It certainly puts out the flavor, but it's getting a little to strong for me right now. It's always good to have different wicking materials. Now, I'm thinking it's wasn't the Nic level... but rather, the throat hit that was getting to me.

The PG and nic are what caused me a lot throat hit so i got rid of them both. Naturally, if you use maximum VG which is say, 95%, then you are a cloud chaser. But the TH is a lot less.

When i cut my nic down i went about it in 2 ways - i halved the nic level, but at the same time i vaped more liquid using lower Ω coils - which you'd think would be the same thing, but it isn't. Once you realise that lack of nic at 18mg/ml can halve and you'll hardly notice it, then it's over.

If your head gets to you and you think going from 18 to 12 is better - do that. i make my own juice and i stopped using nic when i was adding some ridiculously low % of nic to it. Like 0.075% or something so minuscule that you could feed it to sparrows and they'd be fine.

Lose the nic in preference to the PG and dilute it that way is my advice.

I have always used a hard sided glasses case. I have cases from back in the day when frames were larger than they are these days and a Grand fits perfectly.

I've been nic free for a month or so after being at 3mg for a long time. I followed supertrunker's advice and just ditched it. I have to say my diy tasted better with the nic in there but I've gotten used to the difference.

Nice accomplishment !

Thank you @Papa_Lazarou and @ed101z for your great ideas and links! I was just about to check on them when I noticed this post, looked to the left of my chair and saw a hard-side glass case that will work perfectly!!! Right on @K31Scout! Less bulk in my purse and less weight. Now, does anyone need a hard sided cigar holder?

Great to see you Ed and that things are moving along well. I just started to decrease from 12 mg to 9 mg. It sounds like flavor is as important to you as it is to me. Great suggestions about getting a lower nic in the same flavor and mixing. Although it sounds like you may have just needed to decrease your throat hit from your last post. Well, if you ever want to decrease your nic, you have lots of good suggestions on board

And @K31Scout, wow, no nic is a huge accomplishment! Keep us posted. Bravo!

Curious. Throat hit is exactly what I crave - I'm a short, sharp shock vaper. Aside from max VG making my lungs feel boggy, it's why I use PG in the amounts I do (~50%).

If I could get the TH I want with no nic, I would, but even 80% pg and zero nic doesn't cut it. 5mg is about as low as I can get it without the TH drop off leaving me wanting more.

It's one of the reasons that the juices i used when i quit smoking were such tank and o-ring wreckers; i used to add cinnamon redhot flavour to them to get more TH. i was already rolling with 18mg/ml and a 50/50.

Over the years i scaled that back too and now i'm all about the flavour and huge clouds. After all, since i no longer use nic and use maximum VG juice, i'm basically a mobile air freshener!

I can't say that I'm an official cloud chaser. But I used to smoke pipes, and then cigars; moreso even than cigarettes. I even used to inhale, when pipe and cigar smoking.
As a result, I'm accustomed to a thick, rich vape. I make all my DIY liquids at 75-80% VG, and 6mg/ml nic. Flavor percentages vary, depending on the juice I'm making.

Hahahaha "Y'all"!!
Nope, doesn't sound like a good fit and that there's a better option out there for her and you. (Great info for the shelter staff for her next home). That is our bottom-line. We don't care much about age, health etc. but the newbie has to be able to get along with the existing pack. Years ago, we wouldn't nip it in the bud so quickly and then the house was chaotic. Nope, been there done that.
Looking forward to hearing about the next contestant

Good day y'all.
Welp, turns out that they day they took her back, there were 2 puppies that had been brought in on owner surrender, so no waiting period to adopt them. The kids took the boy. This is a video of his first encounter with Frankie. He's a handful, and annoys Frankie at times, but they are getting along pretty well for the most part.

In Oct. we went to the animal shelter and got a little female terrier, of some type, and about two years old, so they said. She had been found on the streets, and fairly recently had pups. She's a good little dog, but is very stubborn in getting house broken. Loves to play, and crazy about people. I keep saying that if someone were trying to break in, she'd probably bark, but once they got in she'd be all over them. LOL.
