Looks like those two are gonna make a good pair Deb.
Jup, I think so. Yesterday Frankie was being a total grrrrrrmudgeon. He didn't want Ozzy anywhere near him and would growl a lot whenever he was around. But today I took em both out back with Ozzy on a very short lead. Let Frankie get comfy in his backyard kingdom. Got ozzy to settle down, then took him off lead. He kept zooming frankie.....running at him then veering off trying to get him to play. Frankie wasn't playing, but didn't growl and didn't jump back. Eventually the tiny terror won him over with his playful antics and Frankie started playing with him. Did that a couple more times throughout the day, and now Frankie is tolerating him much better inside the house. So with that and some pack walks while son and dil are both out for spring break this next week or so, I think they'll do great! Especially if we can get Ozzy to quit humping him. But once we get it through his head that he is NOT the pack leader, hopefully that will calm down. Then neuter him once he's older.

I keep saying that if someone were trying to break in, she'd probably bark, but once they got in she'd be all over them. LOL.
lol Jup. I had a toy poodle when I was a kid. I always said he was a great watch dog. If someone broke in, he'd sit there and watch em. Frankie on the other hand sets off the "alarm" anytime someone else dares to walk down his street! lol

awwwwwww she's adorable. I'm far from an expert, but she looks like she might also have some westie in her with a darker colored terrier. Frankie is westie mixed with God only knows what.

Curious. Throat hit is exactly what I crave - I'm a short, sharp shock vaper. Aside from max VG making my lungs feel boggy, it's why I use PG in the amounts I do (~50%).

If I could get the TH I want with no nic, I would, but even 80% pg and zero nic doesn't cut it. 5mg is about as low as I can get it without the TH drop off leaving me wanting more.
Interesting you don't get good TH with 80% PG. I guess it would depend on what juice you are vaping too. In my case it was easy to get good TH because I was strictly a menthol guy and with the move to rebuildables it was amplified. This aided in my nic cut back as well. I went from 18mg to 0mg in just over a year. I'd have to say it was about 3-5 mos. after getting my first Reo was when I went 0mg. For the last 2+yrs I vaped 0mg @ 50/50 blend and at times the TH was too much for me...

Not to change the topic but yesterday was officially 60 days!!
The last couple weeks have gone really smooth. I haven't found myself reaching for my Reo that is no longer there and have gotten back with the guys playing music again recently without a hitch. We're playing a benefit in a couple weeks for a friend that will be leaving soon... :( Maybe I can post a little video or two afterwards as it seems everytime we're out somewhere, there is someone recording something... Anywho, hope everyone has a great weekend and be sure to keep warm as the cold front is getting ready to hit most everyone east of the Mississippi it seems...:headbang:

Great job @Debadoo! Ozzy (love the name) has struck it rich. He's just getting to learn what is expected with his new pack and I'm betting too that getting neutered will help too. Am always so grateful that people like you take the time and patience to teach new adoptees. We typically adopt older so the larning curve is much less. (What you see is what you get) but a few years ago we adopted a youngin (year and a half Mini Aussie) that had zero/zilch socialization. Oye vey! We are in for the long haul because he generally does well with our pack but the training is a daily task. (And a reminder of why I dig seniors). Hahaha

Dang, that Frankie is a cutie! And that Willow is a looker too. Paddy training can be so tough with the littler ones. Tinkle Belts and Belly Bands saved our sanity and house when we had a couple older little guys who were unable to figure it out due to some physical issues.

Yes, I've dabbled with menthol as a TH constituent as well as cinnamon (ala the trunker). Both tasted like drek to me, so it was signal to noise issue - the TH benefit on the one hand, the yuck face on the other. Different strokes and all that, I suppose.

Another balancing act seems to be the amount of vapour produced. Too little vapour = lack of enjoyment, and high PG really cuts it down. I'm thinking this is prolly central to why vaping works so well for us. It mimics all the smoking triggers better than other harm reduction protocols, including the appearance of 'smoke' (and the TH to go along with it). I have mate who vapes but can't vape with the lights off. He doesn't see any vapour when they are and is constantly convinced that his mod is dead. Funny thing, the mind.

This is awesome to hear. That you're doing it at all is great, but to be able to go back to some pretty core triggers with this new you and remain intact is stellar. :toast:

Please do upload a vid or two of your playing. I still smile remembering your "face behind the reo" video. Some damn good picking there.

Good Morning Reonauts. Been awhile since I have been by...
Looks like I hit the wrong keys (again)...
Anyways, whatever I've done the words look small to me.
Maybe,,, nope
that's not it either
maybe..OK looks normal now.

Anyways, looks like our faux spring in the Carolinas is about to come to an end. After weeks of daytime highs in the '70's, the weatherman is calling for snow tonight and tomorrow morning. Not that it will amount to anything, the ground is too warm for it to stick. Add to that this area is far more likely to get sleet/ freezing rain, and I am not expecting much.
Still vaping, still Reos (always). ProVape has joined the list of the Fallen. as I told @Bronze on another thread, "We were pioneers. Now we are Dinosaurs." But that's OK, 'cause this dinosaur is right we he needs to be, Reoville !

Have a Safe and Blessed Day, and a Great Weekend :)

Was sorry to read about Provape, even though I haven't used one in a few years. I still have 4 perfectly working V2s in the rack. They were a great device, back in the day. I vaped a lot of gennys on them.

i never owned one, partly because my eyes would bleed just looking at the prices - especially since at the time i priced everything according to the going rate for a carton of Marlboro!

Nevertheless they helped a lot of people stop smoking and had fabulous workmanship and quality control. My thoughts are that if you are going to have to use a tank, then you need to be able to output up to 100W (i'm not saying that you have to vape at that level all the time) to cater for the widest range of vaping styles possible.
So in that respect they rather shot themselves in the foot.

For me personally, i never used a tank again after i found Reos and squonkers.

Anytime a well-known vape maker calls it quits is bad for vaping as a whole; what we are left with is cheaper lower quality devices, with flimsy guarantees that are essentially disposable and priced as such. The alternative becomes custom devices, which can be scarily expensive and are not the kind of choice someone looking to stop smoking would even consider.

The mesh i had left over from not using Genesis atties anymore didn't go to waste - i used some of it to patch a hole in the bathroom wall. Nostalgic it maybe, but those things were a PITA to get working right and i don't ever want to return to a time where it took an entire evening to get a wick and coil made and working.

Provape did fail to get with the times. They were the best thing on the market, before the sub ohm craze hit. I believe the max output for the V2 tubes was 14.5W, and the lowest resistance coil possible was 1.2 ohms. Fine for those days, but laughably inadequate for today's hobby, sub ohm vaper.
I don't know what their reasoning was for not following the trends. I know it certainly wasn't lack of technical know how. Potential for product liability? I don't know.
All I know is, it's sad when good companies like Provape or Super T get out of the game.

At least Provape left with some class, unlike others that just jumped out w/o any thought for their customers. We knew, but didn't want to believe, they were actually going. We had time to stock up, and they left with a way for us to get warranty work done for a time.
I don't believe they shot themselves in the foot by way of not keeping up with the times, keeping up with the times just wasn't their niche, or where they wanted to go. Their niche was always in line with what I wanted.
Dependability, and safety. I could always, and still do depend on my Provaris for the vape I want. Long live my Provaris! :)

I like that point of view, "...not their niche, or where they wanted to go." Chose to leave on their terms not the terms set by others, I like it.

I still have so much gratitude for Provape. Before embarking on my switch from cigs to vaping, I did a ton of research. I decided on Provape (quality, technology, customer service and made in USA). A few months later I added a Mini Reo. Because tube mods were "cool" and I thought it would leak in my front jean pocket, my Reo never left the house but that was the only mod I used at home because of its superior taste IMHO. I was a IBTanker and then a Kayfun user.

I then slowly added some mech tubes from SuperT. Another quality company! Then a couple years back, after adding a Grand Reo, I got to thinking about my preconceived ideas. I even sought outside help by posting a question about leakage in our forum. Of course I got lots of thoughtful suggestions and have been a Reo-only user since that time.

I will always be grateful for Provape and Super T's contributions to vaping and to my health. Well done! (And I've been able to pass along most of my tubes so that others can enjoy and that feels good).

Good day all and long live our memories of these 2 wonderful companies.

Thats some funny stuff right there!! I think I made the same face when I smoked, or later vaped, anything that wasn't menthol. I smoked Kool's for 40+yrs and couldn't stand non-menthol...

My opinion on Provape is that they did quality and did it very well. For them to have done a quality sub-ohm 200w device would've cost them over $200 to design and frankly with all the $20-100 devices on the market dictated they just close up shop and not even try to compete...

Todays vapers don't know, and certainly don't care about quality or a properly functioning device until the P.O.S. they bought breaks within 30-60 days and then wonder why it happened!! The only logical answer is exactly what my parents raised me to know and believe....you get what you pay for.... I am so glad I don't need to vape anymore.:)
