Oh, and the O16 has now ruint me! Last Sunday I was gonna take the Grand out with me when I went to church instead of the woodvil that the O16 was on. Popped the battery into the grand with my derringer on it. Took a hit.......it was anemic! I couldn't believe it! Now I definitely gotta get a couple more O16's. Thanks Kenna! At least it'll be cheaper to get a couple more of those than even one more Rm8. :D

YW, Deb! Thinking about getting another one myself.

has anyone heard of cotton bacon ?

Yes. I use it. Very good cotton. I also use Native Wicks Platinum Blend, which is about the same, except for the packaging. Cotton Bacon is packaged with several strips in the bag. Native Wicks Platinum comes in a long rope. I seem to get a little less waste with the Native Wicks. I just cut off a piece an inch or so, and tear off what I need for my wick. You'll get several wicks off each piece you cut off.
But, either one seems to have no 'cottony' taste. I like them both better than Japanese cotton pads.

I've heard of it, but never used it either. Ever since I got a "sample" of rayon from Jan, I've been on rayon ever since. Love the stuff! And I'm still on the same baggie sample I received over a year ago. That does go a long way. I now have an unopened big box of it. I'll pass it onto my grandkids.

Personally, I didn't care for rayon, although, admittedly, I haven't spent a whole lot of time experimenting with it. What little time I've spent fooling around with it, I've always gone back to cotton. I know lots of people prefer it.

LOL. Since my big bag of Koh Gen Do Cotton arrived, I cannot bring myself to order more wicking material. Maybe there is something better available, but where would I store it?

I still have an almost full box of KGD pads. I used it for quite a while. But a while back I got a couple sample packs of Cotton Bacon from one of our local shops, and began using it. I like it, along with the Native Wicks, even better than the KGD.

I've tried Cotton Bacon. It's good - nice material to work with, no bleach or wet dog taste to deal with, wicks like... well... cotton. The key, as it is with KGD, Native Wicks, etc, is strands that run the length of the wick.

Myself, I have a lifetime supply of KGD (aaaaawkward episode walking in to Sephora to make the purchase) and I like to make Scottish Roll wicks, which are much easier to make with a KGD pad.

I tried to make rxw work, I really did, but for me, it seems to flatten the taste of my favourite juices. That, plus it's illegal to buy or possess outside of the US (apparently, it has military applications).

Rayon would be fine - I've tried some - buuut, I already have the prepper's sized stash of KGD and it, too, is harder to make the roll wicks out of.

Good Morning Reonauts. KGD cotton all the way. Probably never use the full bag. Also have a bag of Rayon around here somewhere, but it just didn't seem right to me. Then Trunker started posting something about MSD papers on rayon like it was some kind of hazardous material, and I haven't gone back to it.
Time for that first cup of coffee...

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

Ever since my first hit off rayon, it's all I can vape, in terms of flavor, longevity, nic hit, and safety (100% pure cellulose - Trunker's off his rocker ;))

I never tried RxW, too many reports of it lacking flavor, and I don't like the thought of having the same wick in for more than a week personally but I totally see the appeal.

The dislike for rayon, for me, is one of those things that's difficult to describe. I just didn't like it. It wicks just fine, lasts maybe a little longer between rewicking than cotton, the flavor was there, although there was something there that I don't get with cotton. I don't know what it is. Cotton just seems smoother. Plus, the wicking process just seems contrary to everything I've learned about wicking with cotton.

Interesting, I've found rayon to be smoother than cotton and the wicking quite straightforward. The only thing different about wicking with it is it needs to be a little tighter than cotton. I think some overcompensate and wick it too tight and get a rayony-taste, which turns them away from it.

ETA: not tighter than scottish roll method. Rayon essentially is a scottish roll method.

I have a 2nd one on the way from Fasttech. But the boat seems to be exceptionally slow for this order. Another order shipped the same day is already traversing the US.

Me, too. I do have a small box in the stash, tho. I like KGD.
